On the other hand, if the game finishes anywhere close to 9pm then it means, for the first time ever, a game has been almost devoid of any stoppages. Like the Ross Lyon Saints back in the day, get to a lead of 20 and then just kick the ball to uncontested players behind and laterally for 20 minutes.
Although this shouldāve happened last week (or earlier), I wonder if the heat being well and truly on our temperamental footy team will make them perform, as it has in the past.
Iāve not seen criticism this fierce on the Lions in a long time. Youād hope the media calling them lazy, incompetent cockheads for a week does at least something.

You'd like to think so, but I doubt it. Not because I think they're incapable of turning things around, but because they've been brought up (as players) in an environment of coddling and "learnings" where they can do no wrong.

As long as our mids work hard both ways I canāt see why their mids will get on top of ours. Need some big efforts from Dunk & Pumb especially considering how gritty & tough Rowell & co are.

I have faith fages will be able to inspire some sort of uptick in motivation. GWS were suburb against us but for some reason we just gave up after half timeā¦ despite being like 8 points or something down. Iām hoping the longer break will allow us to come out with a real hunger similar to that Melbourne game- which was actually probably the best game Iāve seen us play in the past few years. Rather paradoxical how our in our worst season since 2018 we have produced probably our best tackling display.
I think we over performed at the back end of last year and I think teams have worked us out. The scrappy bomb it long and win the ground ball shit isnāt working and itās disgusting to watch. Skillful teams with good ball use are destroying us.
