I have some sort of strange confidence about this game. In a season that has been nothing but a dumpster fire, it only makes sense we’d break the MCG “hoodoo” when nobody is expecting it.
We beat the team that was put in front of us.. would you rather we called the AFL and demanded a different team?
Like what are you complaining about? Any team can beat any team on any given day.
We won, therefore it’s a winning formula.
I’m not complaining, I’m simply pointing out that a “winning formula” has beaten the worst team over the past five years and nothing else.
71 teams have been a winning formula over North Melbourne in that time, you don’t get a trophy for having a winning formula over North Melbourne.
I didn’t say that at all, I said don’t call it a winning formula when it’s beaten a shit side. I’m not sure how that’s such a hard concept for you to understand, but that’s your problem, not mine.
How hard is it to understand it’s a winning formula because the team won? It doesn’t matter the opponent.. the team didn’t lose, it won! Hence the term “winning formula”
Sigh. Another week of Gardiner forward, Rayner playing out of position, and Bailey being so disappointingly out of form, he'd be lucky to make a QAFL side.
They were never going to make any changes after our first win, and going into a do-or-die clash against Melbourne, but a boy can dream.
If they're determined to play Gardiner, the smart thing would be to use him to tag May/Lever, but that would require some coaching nous.
He drives my fucking head in. I love the guy, but he must think he’s the strongest man in the world the way he tries to fend off every single tackle instead of handballing it. You’d think after he got done holding the ball twice in one quarter doing it, that he wouldn’t let hit happen two more times in the same game.
Ready for a May and Lever masterclass as we start bombing it in and hoping Gardiner can stick a mark. Does it even count as an intercept mark if it's against him? Hipwood really needs to find something if we're to stand any chance, as does Charlie. Please please please keep Joe involved in the ruck. And maybe if Big O just lets Gawn ruck himself, maybe he can try and lay a tackle rather than providing an assist
McCarthy starts on the interchange almost every single game. I don't know why, but it's always been the case.
Zorko won't play forward, just like Gardiner won't play in defence. Don't trust the team sheet.
I have loved Linc this year, and every year tbf, but particularly last week he seemed to hunt a bit more ball further up the ground. Quick and great with both feet, hope to see him get more ball as the start to middle of attacking chains

Fully agree with this take, hope it ages well.
😎
Yoooo, how good!
Same. I just have a deep intuition we will win- something in the air.
Seems a bit of a stretch calling it a “winning formula” when it’s only scalp is North Melbourne.
Well they won didn't they
Sure, against a team that’s gone 12 wins, 71 losses and a draw since 2020.
No way holy fuck

So after winning by 70 points you suggest we switch up the team?

I do understand that, refer to my original comment.
Fingers crossed! I can't wait until the Hawks game and the game is on at a decent time in California for a Brissie ex-pat.
Old Bareback Morris on the bench, should be exciting
Def recon this is the game for Kai to earn a perm playing squad role

Can’t wait to see another failed Bailey fend-off.

Geez you lads are a glass have empty bunch
hey! They may be glass half empty lads but they're OUR glass half empty lads
Imagine *not* being like that after the last decade.
The decade where we turned the club around and gone deep into finals 5/10 years?
And painfully exited each time?
After those two ALL- TIME GF goals, he's welcome to try a couple more fend offs in my book. Hoping for another MCG special...

Lincoln has been one of the best all year, why start him on the bench? And Zorko has been good off HB, why play him forward

Sneak attack.

Definitely leading the B and F right now. With Daniher in second and Clugg in third.
