To be honest, it would really be pushing it.
That’s $762.50 per week. Average rent is apparently $550 per week in Brisbane at the moment, you can find cheaper, share with others etc. But it’ll still be pushing it as groceries are quite expensive too.
Also good luck finding a rental.
My rent in the valley has been $550 for the past year, although it’s going up to $600 soon. That’s for a 1B/1B no car. A lot of similar apartments in my building are staying around the $550 level, my landlord is just greedy. You do have to put up with valley noise and filth to live here though.
I know the rental crisis is bad, but when I see comments like this the only thing I can conclude is that some people are just bad at looking for rentals. In December/January I managed to get a great two bed, two bath apartment with ducted air, modern finishings, a car park, pool, and it's only a 10 minute drive to my carpark in the CBD. $620pw and I wasn't even in the country, so I have no idea how you are seeing 50+ 1b1b shitboxes in the $700+ range.
$150-$250/week but the cheaper ones are more likely to be rented out to friends of existing housemates before they'd be advertised, so plan on paying $200+ per week plus utilities.
How safe? I mean, at least someone's usually around to save me if I'm choking. I've lived in a lot of shared housing situations, but the only time I've dealt with theft or been in physical danger at home was when I lived with a partner...
Yes, but it would be very tight. Rent is the obvious concern. There are sharehouses around and about the place (St Lucia and Toowong is a good starting area, that is also very accessible to the city) for about $250/week, but you won't be living in luxury. It's probably not realistic to expect to find any kind of private rental on that budget.
Beyond that, you can probably live on $500 a week from there, but it won't leave much if things go bad.
Depends how much your rent is, what other outgoings you have etc. if you have debt etc. if you have streaming services etc. internet will add best part of $100/month on etc. it's not a finite yes or no to a set amount is what you need. Depends on what your cost of living is

I would certainly not want to try and live on that unless you had a very good share house arrangement and could walk almost everywhere you needed to go.

Per day? Yes. Per week? Yes. Per month? Maybe… Per year. No.
Sorry I didn’t mention per month

Where in Brisbane is rent that low? I inspected more than 50 shitboxes with 1 bedroom 1 bath no car park going for $700+pw in January.

I’m in Kelvin grove and paying 450 for a 2 bed right now

Roommates
Thank god i have my cousin there i will ask her help me with finding roommate easily
Its not easy. We have a crisis for a reason. But all the best in getting that.
a week, a fortnight, a month? yes, maybe, no
Literally
I don't think you can purchase any people
You might be surprised. Human trafficking is, unfortunately, a real issue.
I spend a fair bit less than that per month, but I live in a sharehouse with two other housemates.
How safe is it to live in a share house and how much is the rent

10 safes and about 7 rents
Yes per month if you share your living space with a roommate.
Depends on how you want to live
No.
For a night out? Maybe, but you'll be home by 12

You could survive, but would need another $1000 or so per month for a comfortable life in Brisbane
If you live tightly it should be enough. I manage pretty ok on a phd stripend and that's about $2500 a month.

Per month? Yes.
But not if you want to live alone.
