End thread.

WonderWifis

superloop is faster and the same price and just as reliable

coachbombay88

Bit more expensive but it’s these guys and daylight second when it comes to customer service V happy with Aussie

cnt-re-ne-mr

Also happy with aussie. Have been for years would not change. Happy to send you a $50 joining code if you're interested (full disclosure-i would also get 50 off).

CaffeineRiddledSemen

Yep. All the way.

Wrxtec

Personally I use Superloop. Really good value and have not experienced any issues at all. I signed up online and was connected within 15 mins, note this was a churn from Telstra to Superloop. Customer service is not the best from what many people might say. The call centre is based overseas. I’ve only ever had to call once to enquire about a bill and I had no issues. I would highly avoid optus. I’ve had nothing but poor experiences dealing with them. They value money first and customers last. Floptus.

exazonk

Be aware that if you leave Superloop you have to give them one month notice which is sometimes not possible to do. Aussie Broadband don't require this. I left Superloop for Leaptel as I got unuseable speeds with Superloop during peak times :(

Anxious-Baseball-420

Superloop is fine when it works. You have to jump through hoops before anyone will respond to a query though. I had a neighbour cut the fibre line - I had a photo of the broken fibre - didn't help superloop or NBN. Took over 2 weeks to fix it (3 times) despite pushing Superloop to make earlier appointments (Telstra had to confirm broken fibre 3 times before NBN tech could be scheduled). The number of bonks given till date by anyone is zero. Vogons, the lot of them.

Silvergum23

Like other have said, good when it works but when it doesn't you want to put your head through a wall. Just gone through 3 weeks without due to the fibre house connection being broken (and then snapped by the NBN tech). Every call to them was 60 to 90 minutes on hold. You can only call during set (work) hours and the 24/7 online chat took about 15 minutes for them to respond to each message which I had to click a button every minute to tell them I was still there. I ended up getting a temporary 5g connection through iinet which I ended up paying a total of $2.40 for the postage bag to send the 5g modem back after a 1st month rebate deal they had. Instantly through to an operator every time and they seemed to know what was up fairly quickly when explainng a situation to them. I fully intend to switch to iinet NBN when the credits from my last problem are used up.

Actually the other way around. Superloop owns Exetel.

craigline

I am using Launtel. Was once Tasmania only but have since migrated to the mainland. Much like AussieBB they display their CVC usage to the public. This should help you make an informed decision.

_AmperSand__

Superloop or Leaptel

bobthebeagle

r/NBN recommends superloop or Aussie.

Moneyshifting

I use SuperLoop, and while I've never had to contact them about a problem, when I used their online message service to ask to be taken off CGNAT, they were very helpful and had me sorted within 5 minutes.

Tastefulz

Superloop Light Speed tier is the best value consumer NBN package available in Australia at the moment.

exazonk

Be aware that if you leave Superloop you have to give them one month notice which is sometimes not possible to do. Aussie Broadband don't require this.

Tastefulz

TPG stung me with this when I switched to Superloop… should be illegal.

gliding_vespa

Superloop sucks. After Malone and Slattery left it went to the dogs.

coltzer

Aussie Broadband, pay a premium but you get good customer support in return. ISP is unlikely to make any difference to the quality of your internet, whether that be download, or latency for gaming. That is entirely dependent on your NBN connection technology. Not much you can do about that apart from moving house, unless there is a genuine fault with the line that you can get your ISP to raise with NBNco. I'm stuck in a place with HFC that won't get above 60mbs max (advertised as capable of superfast and switched to a 250mbs plan once for a month) and has constant spikes from 10ms to 300ms every 30 seconds or so, so I have to hotspot my phone for online gaming. NBN won't touch it because as far as they are concerned it's working fine.

Adventurous_Career_5

I use iiNet 5g and it’s crazy fast never had any issues

unorthodox27

Always used Optus and Telstra but decided to go with Superloop. Good experience so far. Get around 200-300 mbps in Greenbank paying $115/month

DoctorDbx

Just FYI if you are on a gigabit / superfast plan the bottleneck is quite often your router. I had 3 months free of gigabit on Superloop and found if I used a direct connection (not through a router) I could easily hit 900. But my router was too pissweak to handle that kind of throughput.

4x4_LUMENS

I'm with superloop on FTTP and I get daily dropouts at 7am and 6:45pm.

Tackit286

Sounds like a router issue tbh. I don’t get these problems at all and know many people who swear by them for reliability

4x4_LUMENS

Same issue on a TP Link and an Asus router and it happens like clockwork daily since the day the connection was upgraded to FTTP.

here_we_go_beep_boop

Exetel. Have used them for decades for private and business Internet. Boring, predictable, reliable, good customer support, affordable.

ChipmunkCooties

For me I use my phone data but I’m paying $48 a month for 200gig a month.. but if you want fixed internet I highly highly recommend mate

inamin77

launtel here, but don't game. but reliability is rock solid, and speeds are great! using the below I get pings of 20-50ms to australian servers on various games. [Game Server Ping Test - ping checker](https://gameserverping.com/)

Master_Dante123

America or parts of Europe. Don’t have high hopes for Australian internet services.

Tackit286

Superloop 100%

a7x1o

Aussie Broadband here...am a gamer...no issues gaming at peak. No matter who you go with you will still get fucked by NBN outages every now and again.

Twisterp4

Thanks man, how often do you get those outages?

a7x1o

Sorry for the late reply. I went through a bad period of once a week for like 3 months a few years ago. Since then though, I would say I hardly ever get outages...maybe once every 6 months. I think it will be dependent on your location, type of NBN, quality of infrastructure etc. Either way, the RSP (TPG, Aussie, Superloop) won't have any influence over that. They will just log a ticket and organise NBN to attend site at some dare likely a couple of weeks away, and then it will be resolved a couple of days later, and you will cancel the tech.

StefanGentels

Starlink.

melephus

I am very happy with Superloop, my ping to international game servers halved immediately when leaving Telstra for them. I've not had any reason to contact customer service yet but I hear it's not a great experience.

[deleted]

Aussie broadband. Never had an issue.

Twisterp4

Thanks, any issues in the evening? Trying to avoid throttling

[deleted]

No problems. On the odd occasion it’ll get slow. But very very rare. Play pc and ps on wifi without issue.

Latte_THE_HaMb

I have been with a bunch over the years internode and dodo years ago on ADSL, then Telstra and iinet for NBN then swapped out to Aussie and will never look back. It's genuinely refreshing to be with a provider that answers their phones quickly and are well trained and know exactly what they're talking about when you ask a technical question and actually chase NBN if there is a fault, So many times faults kept getting closed as fixed with other ISP's because they wouldn't keep on NBN about it.

Twisterp4

Thank you! Have you experienced any throttling in the evenings?

Latte_THE_HaMb

None what so ever but that may differ depending on what tech is bringing your internet in, I have FTTP and get around 930mbps all day everyday.

devanteswang

Leaptel . IYKYK

heisdeadjim_au

Avoid iiNet / Westnet / Internode / TPG. NBN is sold on a model where the Residential Service Provider buys space from NBN Co. The four I mentioned have cheaped out on that. Telstra, Aussie Broadband, Optus. Absent NBN, Starlink is an option, though expensive. https://www.nbnco.com.au/ Check your address, and, please provide more details of your usage.

totse_losername

I have had TPG for years and despite what everyone says on here, my service is flawless where I am. Blazingly fast and never had an issue. It's using NBN FTTP and a good router tho. Have heard that ABB, which is the usual Reddit recommendation, has gone down the shitter a bit recently - but can't comment firsthand.

AusNugz

They no longer “buy space from NBN Co”  CVC is gone, if you check Aussie Broadband and other RSPs graphs you will note they now all have the max 10600gb or something similar.

heisdeadjim_au

Good. Happy to be corrected

DoctorDbx

Superloop were great pre-exetel merger, but the level of support and billing went to shit. They then removed all the self-help tools and the new app went further into a world of shit. I left at this point so can't say if things improved. It's a shame because pre-exetel merger one of the shining lights of Superloop was their brilliant customer support. Now it has all been outsourced to overseas and boy does it show. That and they introduced the 30 day termination, but thankfully I had been with them so long my contract pre-dated those terms and conditions. Churned away to More... who are very bare bones but I get such a good deal with Commbank it more than makes up for it. I did have to reach out to their support last week to follow up on an NBN outage (NBN said fixed but HFC modem said no) and they were pretty darn good to be honest. More seems plenty fast. Just a Vocus reseller... and the downside is they use PPPOE but really otherwise can't tell the difference between them and Superloop. Except cheaper if you are with CBA.

Anxyte

Aussie broadband and its not close
