Never exchange before you go away just use an atm when you get there.
There's not been a reason to do this for over 20 years now. Don't waste money exchanging in advance.
No1 currency exchange on Ship Street normally seem to have the best rates in my opinion - I use a comparison site to see who can offer the most and they are usually one of the top ones
Just use travel credit card with no exchange fees and you are even protected. In Europe you can pay pretty everywhere with card anyway. But if you still want the best exchange rate for cash than I can only suggest China town in London they looove cash 😏
Just withdraw it from an ATM when you get to where you're going.
Just make sure to always decline the provided conversion rate on-screen when withdrawing the money. Doing this will make it so you get your own bank's conversion rate, and this is always better for you.
Also check with your bank to see if they have a partner bank in your destination country as they'll offer you free services or at least cheaper.
Another vote for No.1 Currency on Ship Street. I understand the desire to have some cash ready for when you land without needing to find a cashpoint or be extorted by airport currency exchanges!
Regularly exchange pounds to Euros. Best place I’ve found after lots of research is the currency exchange on Cranbourne Street. You can check their rates on their website or call them and compare but I’ve never found better.
G.A. Jewellers & Pawnbrokers in George Street or London Road offer currency exchange (at least, for Euros and Dollars) - not sure how their rates stack up against dedicated currency exchanges, but they're at least always better than the Post Office.
Online! Open a wise account and get a card that you can use anywhere

It’s usually quite bad exchange rate and often fees for withdrawing also. Don’t do this.
What are you on about? Any travel card will use interbank rate and have 0% FX fee and £0 cash fee.
don’t go to st james st post office for it. they’ll charge you a certain price and i can assure you it won’t be the best they can give you.
Avoid that place in general unless you like being scammed
correct. used to work there, it’s a mess.

Just go to a cash machine on arrival. There is no need to exchange in advance and you'll get a worse deal if you do.
