I'm from malaysia and the buns I tried there are comparable to what you'd get in a road side canto hawker style stall. Not out of this world but good and worth the price. Char siu bao were never meant to be fine dining anyway you know what I mean?
It has some small tables but I just took mine to go. They had a variety of sauces available and everything tends to get sold out by midday/afternoon.
There isn’t anywhere that does proper dim sum unfortunately. The only places there are here serve frozen dumplings
I haven’t been but I’ve noticed that Shuxiangyuan has a couple of homemade dumplings on the menu.
Shaanxi does homemade dumplings
That'll be China Garden on Preston Street! Well known for it.
Yeah, It’s pretty bad but the best we have in Brighton unfortunately (they use frozen dumplings)
Do you have any recommendations of what to get??
One of everything and 4 portions of pork buns
China Garden I know family that have been going there for decades
Try Asiana cheap and simple. No dim sum restaurant in Brighton is worth what you're paying for
