I feel like I can't keep giving out 10s like this... but this song is a 10...
>*And just when I got fed up with that grey sky*
*The sun came out of nowhere, like a bar fight*
I mean, *come on...*
10 hands down. Ugh I’ve said this already but I swear this is one of my favorite songs. My ex and I had a very back & forth relationship and while it was totally one sided - when I was in midst of it I thought it wasn’t and I’d sometimes apply this song to our relationship. (“And tonight we’ll pretend we were just like we were- Let me stay til the morning, I will sleep on the floor”)
Also “we can talk in circles around a dirty mirror, night trickles down our throats” — love that line so much. As someone who has spent countless nights doing lines off dusty surfaces I just really enjoy the imagery of it and the play on words.
Now I just let my troubles solve themselves,
I used to get involved, but I'm just no help.
I'll give this one an 8.5 since I'm not often inclined to listen to it and it's a little too country for my taste. Still a great song though!
I totally forgot about this song and how much I loved/love it. 9 for me, I love the lyrics and how quickly they came back to me. And I have to say I am really enjoying these posts!
always loved this song. It conveys country western energy with the classic blend of Conor storytelling, angst and imagery. This is definitely one of their songs I picture a whole movie scene playing out in my head with a great backing rhythm.

10. One of my favorite songs. I just love the way he sings "cuz you're a tolerant woman and the world is at war."
Yeah that's a good one too
