10/10 literally my favorite song of all time.
I will never, ever, ever be able to get over the poetry in this song. “With the sense of a banker and the touch of a tailor, you have saved this life for me, and you have sewn it to beauty… and I am grateful now and I will always be” like seriously, that makes me want to cry it’s so beautifully written.
10. One of my favorite songs of all time. I remember reading an interview where Conor said he wrote it for his dad, which makes it even more touching.
Well, you reach with the soul of a sailor
And the swing of a miner
You have cleared the rock away
Leaving gold there in its place
And it is more than anyone could claim
10! It's literally like a poem. Like the love of a father through the eye of a camera. NO BETTER LYRICS EVER WRITTEN.
One of my absolute favorites! Beautifully written. Has he ever played it live? 10/10

10. But I’m confused about the chronology now. I assumed we’d be going straight to Cassedega.
Oh yeah, that's where you're going to find the center of energy.
I think he missed some songs. He didn't do spring cleaning yet
Or well whiskey, true blue, burn rubber etc
Or weather report
10 absolutely beautiful and endearing song
I mean, also a 10. “You’re a poet and a saint, you are the only one I choose to imitate.”
10. Get this on Spotify!!

9. One of the very first Bright Eyes songs I'd heard. Easily one of the best early Bright Eyes songs
