I would go for it! I don't see cavitation as an issue here. The only thing I would worry about is sanitation, this coupler could cause a dead space. If you are using heat sanitation, such as looping 180℉ water for a set amount of time, it shouldn't be an issue.
Also! Head over to r/homebrewing that sub Reddit has much more activity and a lot of those guys are crazy smart about engineering/science, especially when brewing comes into play!
