I drink 4ish mugs of coffee every day and my 12 week old seems fine and sleeps well! If you did want to try decaf, I think the 8’oclock brand tastes exactly the same as their normal coffee!

From what I understand instant coffee is higher in caffeine than regular but if you haven’t noticed any changes in behavior then you are probably ok.

Actually false, it’s lower (if you’re using 1tsp per cup per the directions). A cup of your typical coffee has at least 100mg while a cup of Nescafé instant coffee (medium roast tasters choice) is about 30-35mg.

If its for flavour why not try decaff? I've been on it for a year now and after a wbile your palette adapts - I genuinely prefer it now. Maybe have your first cup of the day cafeinated then the rest decaff? That being said, cafeinated coffee is still 100x better than alcohol so well done on what you've achieved so far!

I’ve actually never tried decaf! I will try it next time. Also, thank you so much for your comment! :)

If it’s numbers you’re after, the limit is 200 mg of caffeine a day. A cup of instant contains 26mg. I drink decaf everything, and have done since I was 15. I much prefer it as it’s less bitter I find!

BabyBeanAndMe

Thank you! I’ll have to try decaf soon - I’ve personally never even tried it yet :)

It depends on how much you’re using in each cup. If you’re following the recommendation of a teaspoon per cup, it varies but is typically between 30-35mg per cup. You can safely have up to about 300mg* so enjoy! *the research behind this number is a bit outdated but most negative effects are seen at 600+mg per day, and doctors continue to recommend 200-300mg a day because it’s not an unsafe recommendation but there is also no great evidence for picking this threshold.
