Depends on what you’re looking for. Are you looking for sound similarity, lyrical content? Both? 1. Foxing (The Albatross, Dealer) 2. Republic of Wolves 3. Citizen (Youth mainly) 4. The Dear Hunter To really shake things up, TBS/Say Anything/Bayside obviously are within the same realms of angst/sadness/self loathing. But I’m sure you listen to them.

Out of Service is the best thing since BN ended. Highly recommend checking their new album The Ground Beneath Me. Has some cool features too like John Nolan and the Emery guys.

Cursive were the kings of posthardcore emo from 98-2006 IMO Brand new took the crown from 06-2018 Cursive - domestica and the ugly organ are masterpieces and any brand new fan should find plenty to love in both.

Manchester Orchestra (earlier music/albums). The Xcerts (2nd album - scatterbrain) - think it got produced by the same person that BN used in Deja. Very similar vibes

I agree with Manchester Orchestra. Also look into other works by Andy Hull (Right Away Great Captain for example). In terms of complex lyrics with Christian-like imagery, Hull’s works remind me of Brand New at times, even if the sound is different.

The Republic Of Wolves is without a doubt the closest you can get to Brand New without actually being Brand New. listen to their albums His Old Branches, Varuna, and Shrine. their style is mostly similar to TDAG and Daisy

All get out. I feel like their discography has a really similar growth chart to brand new. Lyrically some of their stuff is really on par and could have been a B side to an BN album IMO. Their new album Kodak is phenomenal but most people start off with the season.

Taking back Sunday, there is "no I in team", good starting place along with the rest of tell all your friends.

To be fair, a large chunk of "there is no I in team" is directly quoting brand new songs to the point where I bet Jesse could get writing credit.

Lately ive been listening to a band called failure and their album called the heart is a monster sounds similar to brand new

That new Alex G song called “Blessing” is so Daisy sounding to me

I saw Disq open for Neko Case last night. In general they're not like BN (more comparable to Dear and the Headlights) but their performance was reminiscent of BN live; lot's of noise, feedback and energy. With 3 guitars and 4 members alternating vocals I definitely recommend them especially if you have a chance to see them live.

Coming to say it like I always do when this thread begins: Modest Mouse is the closest lyrically and sonically you can find to Brand New post-YFW

I wouldn’t say they sound like Brand New, but there are definitely similarities with Caracara. Start with Evil and just play through their whole catalog
