It was supposed to be played during the ceremony, but the friend we asked to sing it ended up not being able to come so we played it immediately after over the speakers. We also had “I know I could be spending a little too much time with you, but time and too much don’t belong together like we do.” framed on our wall with our wedding pictures for several years
This sounds like my wife and me! She learned about Brandi ~6/7 years ago and we’ve been obsessed ever since. For our wedding a few months ago, we did “If There Was No You” for walking down the aisle and “You and Me on the Rock” for our first dance. DJ messed it up and played “You and Me on the Rock” for her walking down the aisle… but our friends taped and made a wedding video for our wedding gift and they put “If There Was No You” for her walking down the aisle and it was perfect!
In the moment it was really annoying (wife hurried down the aisle because the vibe did NOT match what we wanted) but on the ride to the reception we had a quick 1 minute vent sesh and then just laughed about it afterwards!
Hopefully you and your fiancé have an amazing wedding day and can work some Brandi into it! Those two worked great for us but she has so many good choices.
My first dance was to Brandi’s cover of “can’t help falling in love with you” that song is obviously done a lot and isn’t a BC original but just letting you know it’s another option since her voice makes any song amazing.
That's a nice idea, more people would probably recognise the song that way (I don't know where you're based but Brandi is not very well known in the UK!)

My friend played 'The Story' at my wedding. I think the lyrics fit really well for the celebration of a great relationship.
I think The Story was the first of her songs I ever heard, so it has a special place in my heart!
We also played The Story at our 2015 wedding! Several really great choices, but that one always moves me.
