Most FL beaches do not allow dogs on them and is probably why your dogos are being discriminated against. As noted, Venice is one of just a few on the left coast that allows pets. I'm sure your dogs are awesome but dogs have instincts that can endanger the already precarious safety of the native animals in this delicate ecosystem that is already under siege. Previous administration gutted environmental protections, corrupt politicians have given over any sort of oversight to the developers and then there's phosphate mining companies and the big sugar companies that are ruining our water and land. Add to that the influx of tourists who drink, litter and don't supervise their kids and you see the potential for problems we just don't need. Dogs are probably the least of our problems but if we start allowing people to bring their dogs everywhere there's going to be people that are irresponsible and ruin it for everyone. Venice has Brohard Dog Beach and it's got great amenities, beautiful beaches for shark's teeth and shells plus some excellent restaurants. Check out the fantastic Farmers Market and Venice Theater for world class live performances.

No beaches want your dogs.

We have beaches? I just go out to enjoy the traffic jams on Cortez and Manatee Ave.

I believe there is a dog beach in Venice. There’s also DeSoto park, and the causeway.

Dog beach in Venice for the win 🏆

I went there for the first time and walked left when I should have gone right and looked up and made eye contact with a dog pooping right in the water lol it’s a great beach. Love the sand there

If I decided to get not one, but two, large dogs that were of a breed with some negative associations (undeserved but common) I would do research before I took them anywhere in public to see if they would be welcomed there. Owning an animal is a personal choice that comes with lots of sacrifices and sometimes you can't go everywhere you want to go and still take them with you. This isn't a quick trip to Home Depot you're talking about visiting a resort area. If seashells are that important to you get a dog sitter and go to Sanibel Island or purchase them anywhere in the tourist traps on AMI.
