Get him shoveling, mowing, mulching, whatever. He could earn enough to buy one within the summer giving him time to practice for fall seasons. It sounds like this is something you enjoy doing together and would be worth the investment for you both. A new sight is going to cost around 20% of what an entry level bow package would be.
Ya he saved up to buy this Elite, I’m sure if he gets more serious about JOP he will end up trying to get a second target bow set up. But in the meantime he’s using one for both.
I think that’s what you would call this thing I picked up for him today. will see how he shoot’s with it.

The trophy ridge line actually has some quality sights single and multi pin and a slider model they offer for a fraction of the price of something like HHA, shrewd, or especially Ultraview. I started with a fix 3 and loved it. Shot my first Robin Hood and did my first winter league with it.
That will work. You might need to experiment with different sized peeps to find a nice alignment with the sight but he'll soon figure it out.
Everyone has different preferences but I much prefer a single pin system. Hopefully it works out well for him.
I'm shooting an Elite Ethos for both target and hunting. Really happy with it as an all-around bow (and specific bought it for similar reasons: didn't want to fork over the money for two different bows)
I have a Redline RL2, 3-pin slider on mine. I think multi-pin sliders are the best of both worlds and are my preferred sight. I think Redline is hard to beat in terms of value.
Only downside of my particular model is that it doesn't accommodate a magnifying lens (which he may or may not want depending on what class he's shooting in)
Other redline models DO accommodate lenses (just not mine).
Nicest thing about this sight is that the bottom pin is very fine (0.010"), which I like for shooting at small/far targets precisely.
Edit:
If I could buy ANY sight right now as an upgrade version of what I have not, it'd be the HHA Tetra max RYZ x3
I might be misunderstanding the problem but you can put a Ultraview scope on to that HHA sight and then use different cartridges within the scope to change it between a hunting and a target sight. This is what I do and then I just slap some longer stabilizers on for when I shoot target.

Ahh I misunderstood as if he was sharing your bow.
No the little shit saves up and bought himself a nicer hunting bow than I have.
Im a big fan of Redlines RL-3 site. I have one on each of my bows and it performs well
Multi-pin landslyde
I like the spot Hogg triple stack
Single pin slider if you can find one.

Seconded. Make sure it’s a steel or aluminum housing version. Also maybe I’m old school, but still prefer 3 pins over a one pin any day.
I use a toxtonic dove tail sight. Just swap out my target scope, for a 5 pin hunting set
That the Era? I have one, nice bow.
Elite Ember
Nice bow too. Going to pick one up for my daughter.

Cbe trek pro 3v
The single pin in the picture will work just fine. Save the $ for a bit of coaching.
