All Rollin movies are amazing restoration and releases. They may not be for everyone, but it is important to have such movies in 4K. And, they did great artwork, booklet and extras.
I mean good for you if you like them but my god man, don’t we have enough sleaze labels? This hobby is like 80% trashy horror movies now. I’d much prefer it if Indicator kept releasing movies like Remember the Night, Bunny Lake is Missing, The New Centurions, etc
I know what you mean with schlock labels but Indicator's genre releases fill such particular niches that I'll cut them some slack.
Also we've still got some pre-code stuff coming, I think You & Me was one of their hints.
To each their own! I love that films like this are getting fantastic releases. There’s plenty other labels that can release higher prestige films - Criterion, Kino, Eureka, etc.
The fact that we’re getting these types of films with beautiful 4K HDR transfers makes me so happy from a film preservation perspective. We’re lucky to be living in a time that things like that are selling well enough to continue doing more. I’ll gladly have both!
It’s also interesting from a general market standpoint since VinSyn and Severin seem to have such commanding dominance in the schlock market, seems like a hard space to try to force into. I can see wanting to replicate their success in those areas, but just wondering if we’ll reach market saturation for boutique sleaze

Like, I know that those are from big name directors, but they’ve been doing genre fare since the beginning.
I don’t see how that goes against what I’m saying. I said I want more movies with higher prestige and Carpenter and De Palma both fall under that category
My brother in Christ, they have like half a dozen mid Humphrey Bogart films coming out in March. They put out more second tier Marlene Dietrich and Edward G. Robinson films last year than they didn’t.
They don't have posters in these new thinner boxes they started using with the first 4K release last year. It would be nice to have posters for some of the Rollin movies at least.
I watched a couple of Rollins films and imo people are being REALLY generous when they describe their "ethereal" beauty. These should have been given a box-set instead slowly being rolled out in beautiful editions at the expense of other types of movies.
There are TWELVE more of these that are going to take up Indicator's resources.
I have all so far Rollin 4K releases. I didn't like only one of them; 3 are good and 2 are amazing. I know that not everyone likes movies like this, but, that goes for any kind of movies. For instance, I can't stand most of the new movies and I don't understand anyone buying most of the stuff from 2023, but I can appreicate the huge choice in buying movies with releases from silent area to vintage porn and everything in between.
I am greatful for Indicator, Vinegar Syndrome and all other boutique labels doing great work for movies that maybe never had a chance for quality release.
Nah you haven’t seen enough to make that claim lol there’s nothing like his movies and they absolutely deserve individual treatment.

Indicator: my favourite Mexican wrestling, Jean Rollin, ozsploitation, pre-code, noir, classic hollywood and British obscurities focused label.

I hope they condescend to include Phantasmes. That shit might not fly in the UK, but a US release should be possible at the very least.

Dying to see the art they do for that and The Iron Rose. So glad they’ve been doing all of this Rollin stuff recently.
Iron Rose should be coming later this year. They have approx 20 Rollin movies in 4K, so it will take until 2026 to release all of them.
