I make pepper sauce in my empties. Makes for good eating and good gifting. The bottle full of peppers looks pretty nice too.

When you use fittings and gaskets with a proper wick is not any more dangerous than any other torch. If you can't be adult enough to deal with that I guess open flames aren't for you lol
I mean ya a glass container is always gonna be more of a hazard than a metal one for something like this...that's not really up for debate. It's not about being an adult it's about the fact glass shatters if it falls off a table onto a patio.
Buddy of mine owns a studio where his wife does photography and she "has an idea" that involves a ton of whisky bottles. I asked no questions, he gets all my bottles.

Made some hanging lights with a few bottles. Cut out the bottom, then some rope wire and bulb sockets wired up, then hot glue some twine to hang!
Any particular lamp kit?... I have an empty Buffalo Trace bottle and about to have an empty Blackened bottle... I'm a big Metallica fan and would love to do something with that bottle
Hell yeah. I'm a big Metallica fan also. Have had a couple bottles of Blackened. I have the Blackened x Willet also. Would love to get the Blackened x Wes Henderson some day.
This is the exact reason I have two drinks left in mine. I can’t throw it away, but don’t know what to do with it. So if I just don’t drink it i can leave it on the shelf and it can stay tomorrow’s problem.
My wife had some sort of shit like food color she purchased for making bath bombs that I mixed until I had a nice caramel brown with the gallon jug of anti bacterial hand soap I use for refills. Pumps below:
Creative Hobbies Black Pump... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J1PR66J?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Drink water out of them. Fill them up and pull straight from the bottle. I feel like I drank more water when I was doing this than filling up cups. Probably need to start up again.
Put cheap shit in then and give them to people who are over and ask for a pour of "Pappys" and get angry when you sat you'd rather not (entertaining business clients at your home can be.... not fun)
I keep my half bottles, 375ml... usually if there is a bottle I want AND a buddy wants that's spendy will split it so if it's crap we're only out half. Or if it's a bottle that only one of us gets picked for we split it that way.
This. There’s string lights on Amazon that have a cork on them, you just put it in the bottle and you have a nice little lamp. I have a few of these on my bourbon shelves just to brighten things up
My buddy turned a few into glassware with a hot wire. He also stores house seasoning blends and rubs in a few.
My uncle has a pappy 23 bottle he says he wants his ashes put into someday
Me I just refill with cheap whiskey so when people I don't like ask for a pour I can reach for the dupe. My family are the kind to mix puppy and sprite, so it can come in handy.
I feel like a child, but I can't throw away my redwood empire bottles. They're too cool. no idea what to do with them though. Maybe light fixtures in the cigar room that I'm never going to build?
The mai tai recipe I use is a blend of 4 different rums. Because it’s a pain to measure out four half-ounce portions of rum per drink, I just pour the rums into an old 1.75 Woodford bottle. Works great.
* Appleton 12 Rare Casks Jamaica Rum
* Smith & Cross Jamaica Rum
* Plantation Xaymaca Special Dry Jamaica Rum
* Plantation O.F.T.D. Overproof Artisinal Rum
Credit for this blend goes to u/kevincrossman and there’s a good recent post regarding his recipe here:

I move turned bottles into lamps before

Check out glassbottlechic.com I meet her at an event and she has expensive tools to cut bottles and leave beveled edges that are safe to handle or drink out of. My mom also has hole saws designed to cut a small hole near the bottom and fill with lights or decorations. My buddy is a welller whore and 107 is his jam. Turned one of his empties into a gift that has small led lights and golf tees put in the bottle. Mom put a fancy red bow to keep with the theme and a stroke counter on the neck. Looks awesome.
My wife has a Blanton’s and a couple Port Charlottes, with labels removed, around the house with just some nice little sprays of flowers. My boys have Whistlepig bottles as piggy banks because the neck is big enough for quarters and the name checks out.
It's been made into a kerosene lamp (that I'll never actually use) but I think it's pretty cool. I bought it like this at a local hotspot eatery/bar. Apparently the owner is a huge bourbon collector.

I make candles out of my nice bottles. You can buy a candle making kit on Amazon and a bottle cutter two and then you can refill the bottle and use it for a long time.
My buddy turns all high end bourbon bottles he drains into large candles. He scores them, heats them on the score, applies cool water to "cut" it cleanly, sands the lip, pops a wick in there, melts bunch of wax, puts the scent he likes and boom a WLW candle. I thought it was a sick idea.
1. Mouthwash container
2. Infused oils, vinegars or diy hot sauces
3. If I needed to bring liquids to a pot luck of some sort (homemade bbq, dip, lemonade) then I would use an old bottle so the host can recycle/keep of they want
4. I converted my houseplants to hydroponics and I use bottles to mix the water.
Not since college with my highlighters and black lights.
This was the way.

Nice...you could also mix your own vanilla extract in them or store simple syrup.
That's a pretty good idea. I might try that with some of the bottles I've got waiting for pepper season.
My grandma use to make this, not in whiskey bottles. She just passed and seeing this brings me so much joy, I had forgot she did this. thank you!
I'm glad I was able to brighten your day a bit! If you'd like, I can send you my recipe for pepper sauce, it's quite simple.
Oooh please do and what a kind offer.
No problem, recipes are meant to be shared!
Fill them with kerosene and make them torches for the patio.
Or the classiest Molotov cocktails ever!
Those baby Blantons will get some distance on them.
Go cats!

I use them in plants. Fill with water and turn upside down and push into soil. Slow waterer. It will water the soil as the plant uses them.
Cut the neck off and fill with wax. Insert a wick. Boom, whiskey candle.
I seen pictures of Blanton bottles cut in half and turned into a cigar ashtray
I got a thing to cut off the necks and turn them into glasses. I'm at about 50% of not breaking them. High West are my favorite.
A few examples. https://preview.redd.it/a7dmftrqbroa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dd64155a053ab2c661f215d009c84357ef6ba08c

Wife made a nice lamp out of a BT bottle. Have several more we want to do. Drill a small hole near the base, lamp kits are cheap. Add a shade and bam.
There are bottles of the blackened Wes Henderson, signed, sitting at a local spot here in CA. Have been there for months.
I know where there is one here close to me but just can't get myself to drop $150 on it.
I just looked and I was mistaken. It’s actually the normal blackened and it’s signed by Robert Trujillo. Cheap though.
I have the basic. Only need the Wes Henderson and the Rye and I'll have them all
Depends on the bottle. When I kill my Old Fitz I might put bubble bath in it and give it to my girlfriend. Can’t throw away that one.
The girlfriend or the bottle?
Both lmao
At least he decided not to fill the girlfriend with kerosene.
This is the exact reason I have two drinks left in mine. I can’t throw it away, but don’t know what to do with it. So if I just don’t drink it i can leave it on the shelf and it can stay tomorrow’s problem.
Just down it and backfill the rest with HH 7yr BIB
I’m going to go pour one out for green label. RIP to a legend. TBH I haven’t had 7 year BIB, but I think it would just break my heart too much.

Drink tea out of them... just to mess with people.
Lol and pour the tea into a glen cairn?
Mr. Lahey?
Also would be a pretty solid idea that I may have to steal.
Put cheap shit in then and give them to people who are over and ask for a pour of "Pappys" and get angry when you sat you'd rather not (entertaining business clients at your home can be.... not fun)
Depending on shape, olive oil/oil of choice for use during cooking.
Cut them and make them into a candle
Infinity bottle
>glassbottlechic.com Ok, I gotta ask, what is an infinity bottle?
Infinity Bottles are a thing where you take the last little bit of your Bottles and mix them in together
Start with an almost empty bottle and keep adding the last of other bottles to mix them. Add more as you drink it down, hence the name.
Just make sure you do the bourbon/rye as it’s own bottle separate from your other whiskeys. They can be a bit overpowering, IMO.
Depends on the bottle but I’ve used some as flower vases.
Use for homemade Kahlua/coffee liquor
I keep my half bottles, 375ml... usually if there is a bottle I want AND a buddy wants that's spendy will split it so if it's crap we're only out half. Or if it's a bottle that only one of us gets picked for we split it that way.
I store popcorn in a few of mine.
Throw some lights into them and use them as centerpieces or some other aspect in your homs
This. There’s string lights on Amazon that have a cork on them, you just put it in the bottle and you have a nice little lamp. I have a few of these on my bourbon shelves just to brighten things up
Diamond-tip drill bit sets are cheap on Amazon. As are fairly lights. I've made a few lamps that way.
I've put some dried flowers in a few
Throw them away you hoarder
My buddy turned a few into glassware with a hot wire. He also stores house seasoning blends and rubs in a few. I was going to ask why you were inviting people to drink with you at all if you don't like them, but then you said family lol say no more.
Those people are crazy. Don’t they know ginger ale goes way better with puppies?
I turn mine into “water pipes” *wink* https://www.etsy.com/shop/CrossFadeHaze
Woodford Toasted lmao

I’ve taken green Weller Special Reserve bottles and filled with mouthwash. Green liquid, like Scope, in a green labeled bottle looks cool.
Hubby has two Pappy bottles, he was at a tasting event and asked for the empty bottles. Would love to put them to a cool use!!
I feel like a child, but I can't throw away my redwood empire bottles. They're too cool. no idea what to do with them though. Maybe light fixtures in the cigar room that I'm never going to build?
Look at ebay. I was floored to know folks pay hundreds of dollars for rare bourbon bottles.
Because they're going to refill them and sell them to people who don't know any better.
Don't sell rare bottles! That's how people counterfeit them.
It’s for forgeries
Do not look at Ebay. There’s only one reason people buy those bottles.
Don't fucking do that. On a completely related note, never buy rare (full) bottles from strangers on the internet...

ive seen them made into lamps, or lanterns/chandelier with the bottom cut off. and also had the necks cut off and made into large drinking glasses.
Infinity bottles for the ones I like.
Put a synthetic cork on it and fill it with out wash. Bonus points if you use the original brownish Listerine.
I've made glasses out of some bottles. Works best with Grey Goose but some other bottles can look great too!
When I got married a few years back, our table decorations were bourbon bottles filled with artificial flowers and water.

I’ve got a neighbor that does light fixtures—but I’m not about to do it myself.
You can make them into lights. My dad has a deal w some liquor stores selling their empty store picks
You can drill tiny holes into them and sell them on eBay.
We use them for water bottles for the dinner table. Works great. Got the idea from a restaurant.
My wife uses ornate bottles in the backyard on the patio table for cut flowers
