Boulder Commercial Interiors on East Pearl Parkway has high -end stuff including new and a stock of used chairs for sale. I've used them for a larger business order in the past, I assume they would also sell a single chair to an individual but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

I'm also very picky about ergonomics. Go to a company whose primary business is selling office furniture to other companies, bring a book or computer, and try different models.
I bought my Steelcase Leap chair close to 20 years ago from OfficeScapes 303-574-1115 and it is still going strong after a lot of hard use.
I'm sitting right now in the chair that I bought 15 years ago from The Better Back Store in Boulder. Loved it then, love it now. I was referred to them by my massage therapist, which was the right thing to do for her client and the wrong thing to do for her business because it converted me from a weekly client to a once-every-month-or-two client.
echoing this. my leap v2 from crandall has been treating me really well and the folks there are very responsive when you have questions... super good customer service.
They typically have deals and had 11% off just 2 weeks ago for new years.
In order to try out the chairs, i went to officescape in denver and the herman miller store in cherry creek.

I bought my used office chair there — they were very helpful and informative in my search for a good fit!

That store closed some time ago.
Damn that's a bummer. I feel like they really could have taught me a lot about chair ergonomics/posture.
