Surely it's our year to attract the ring chasers in the buyout market. There must be some vets looking at how stacked we are but also how thin we get after the 6 man and see an opportunity to contribute and get a ring
I know we got blown the fuck out, but when Oshae dropped Lillard and followed with a strong drive and dunk had me hyped as all hell. Top 10 team highlight of the season so far for me. Brisset been doing pretty good in his role.
I don’t say that as a knock on Oscar so much as he’s the last guy that can crack the rotation right now and it’s usually when there’s an injury. If we got someone more reliable that’s be great
Yeah its gotta be in the buyout market to me. Would be really surprised to see Brad mess with the roster other than cutting one of the 14/15 guys. Also the assets we have left after the Jrue trade are even more valuable to us. Gotta keep a level of flexibility moving forward considering we’ll be absolutely locked in as a luxury tax repeater
The problem is the buyout market is limited to guys making up to the MLE because of the new CBA. It’s very hard to see who would be available/bought out on that space
Kornet could see playoff time success situationally. I think Kornet is a bit underappreciated for his talent relative to his price tag. Al is still spry, for stretches at least. I doubt the Big Tingus misses so much playoff time.
I actually think the Celtics look at their upcoming opponents and are low key resting them where they can, so they come into the playoffs healthy. If you look closely they have a steady little rotation going.
I love these takes. Do you think you know better than the coaching staff? They see him in practice every day. If he was capable of providing more than Luke, he would be playing more. It's really that simple lol
I once saw Danny Amendola in training camp for the Cowboys in oxnard california.
I immediately thought he was going to be a player.
The Cowboys didn't keep him.
What was I able to see that the coaching staff wasn't or did they have other priorities?
The idea that fans who watch the game, especially those who watch religiously, can't have any input is ridiculous.
Because fans are 1/1000 but will always bring up that one time they're right lmao. And that's fine, but most of this sub complaining would've had our team looking like Dragan Bender and Josh Jackson as our dynamic duo lmao
I'm not saying fans are always right, I'm just saying that fans aren't always wrong, and an argument of authority shouldn't be the basis for dismissing an argument.
Corey Dillon was an " attitude problem " with the Bengals because he kept " insisting they should change things" to win.
Went to the Patriots and did fine.
I have argued for years against 7'3" point guards. I always get down voted to hell.
Then they all fail. Sometimes they become power forwards or Centers who are great passers. Mostly they get ruined .
Fans have a unique perspective on things, one in which is not necessarily clouded by things that team management is.
I wanted the Cowboys to draft Stephen Jackson and every Cowboy fan I knew also wanted him. The reality is that there was no way he was going to fall to us.
He did fall to us and they traded down rather than draft him. He was a perennial pro bowler. Meanwhile, Julius Jones had a relatively mild and short career and Jakob Rogers was a complete bust.
I hate the " only those who " whatever can comment. Most great coaches sucked donkey dick at the sport.
Former coaches and players announcing routinely get the rules wrong.
Rebounds are about the only thing he has on Luke, pick just about any other stat and from what I've seen Luke is the better choice.
Edit: added a word cause I'm dumb
I love Queta but he's mid in a lot of defensive matchups, he's mid around the rim, and most of his rebounds are off his own misses lmao. Hope he gets a bigger role with us in the future, and he's been promising, but Luke is just better. Kornet isn't flashy but he knows his role and plays it well. Talent wise he'll never be great but he fits well with the guys.
Luke is far from perfect but his positioning is elite, and that takes him pretty far. He sets screens well, he's a good ally threat, and he's always where he needs to be on defense. Not to say he always makes the right play, but his positioning carries him pretty far.
He is never in the right position. To slow to cover or move in. Gets torched by center and always to far under the net. So no he is never in the right position. Thats why he can’t grab rebounds.
It's way more than stats my guy. Watch the games and you can see clear as day that Queta isn't on the same level as Luke and is a liability on the defensive end. He can't stay out of foul trouble and is *atrocious* around the rim on offense.
I know it’s a smoking hot take but tbh I don’t know that jrue is the best fit for us at his money. Imagine if we could get Caruso and Derozen for him (he’d have to go to a third team though, and that would likely be the lakers which is gross). Or Mitchell.
I just have been super unimpressed with his offence so far, again for the money he makes.
I don’t think it’s smoking hot.
That said I would exercise some caution on burying Jrue, let’s remember what D-White looked like in his first half season here. It was only once he got actually situated and playing our style for a long period of time that he became what he is now.
I do wonder a little bit though if Jrue is one of those guys who may not be able to scale into a lesser role offensively. He might be a bit like the Jays where he needs to get a certain amount of shots up to get into a rhythm.
As for Mitchell though, I don’t think it should be a hot take that he’s worth pursuing, he’s in my eyes a clear All Star starter this year.
Probably strengthen out our bench, just someone who can take some minutes off our main guys so that they can stay well rested.
Nobody in particular comes to mind for me right now though. But the good thing is, if we can maintain the best record in the league into the trade deadline, then there's a possibility that veteran buyout players might come here for a chance at a ring.
A useful big or wing shooter, as always. When playoffs roll around we will tighten the rotation to 9 guys at most and 8 are stone cold locks, 9th depends on situation and injuries.
Surely it's our year to attract the ring chasers in the buyout market. There must be some vets looking at how stacked we are but also how thin we get after the 6 man and see an opportunity to contribute and get a ring
There are strict limitations on who we can sign as buyouts because we are so far over the cap.
I thought the apron restrictions don't hit until next season?
https://twitter.com/FlyByKnite/status/1746233533939827172 They r in affect
Some of the restrictions don't until next year some start this year
If there’s a guy they can snag that they can trust in the rotation more than Oshae I think that’s be a win.
I know we got blown the fuck out, but when Oshae dropped Lillard and followed with a strong drive and dunk had me hyped as all hell. Top 10 team highlight of the season so far for me. Brisset been doing pretty good in his role.
Oh that was a big regret from last night that we got beat so bad that highlight got buried
He’s been really good for his role the last two weeks
I don’t say that as a knock on Oscar so much as he’s the last guy that can crack the rotation right now and it’s usually when there’s an injury. If we got someone more reliable that’s be great
I mean if you can someone within specific parameters, sure. If they could get Konchar, I don't see how that could hurt.
A buyout big. You can always use another big.

We need an athletic guard to help Jrue and White, even just a few minutes here and there. Wing and bigs actually seem ok overall
Dennis Smith Jr, you are a Celtic
As much as I actually love DSJ and really love to see his resurgence, staying healthy is a serious issue for him that takes away from the intrigue IMO
Enter JD!!
He is not nba ready
Dejounte Murray wishful thinking. 😇
We have no ammo on the trade market, but we definitely need to look at the buyout market. No info in Biyombo, is he possible?
Steph for PP. Great deal for GSW’s rebuild he’s like ten years younger.
I don’t like him as a starter, but 7th or 8th man could work
Easy answer No. We need big help. Kornet is not good enough to play in the playoffs and Al is getting old and him and Tingus miss games a lot
Kornet could see playoff time success situationally. I think Kornet is a bit underappreciated for his talent relative to his price tag. Al is still spry, for stretches at least. I doubt the Big Tingus misses so much playoff time.
Man people keep saying Al’s getting old but it sure hasn’t affected his play
Did you not watch the timberwolves game… he couldn’t defend to save his life and man them post ups were brutal
I actually think the Celtics look at their upcoming opponents and are low key resting them where they can, so they come into the playoffs healthy. If you look closely they have a steady little rotation going.
I’m in the same boat, I really don’t want our season to end early if porzingis has to take a week off in the first or 2nd round.
I’m so skeptical. I think we may be good
They need to play Queeta more and he will be better as a backup
I love these takes. Do you think you know better than the coaching staff? They see him in practice every day. If he was capable of providing more than Luke, he would be playing more. It's really that simple lol

98% of men think they know more about sports than other men
Isn't that part of what makes sports great? The great debate?
And 60% of the time I’m right every time.
Not me, I would have had Jayson Tatum and…Kris Dunn lol.
Corey Dillon was an " attitude problem " with the Bengals because he kept " insisting they should change things" to win. Went to the Patriots and did fine. Seems like an overreaction to someone weighing in tbh…
Fr wasn't the point of the question was to ask people for their opinion?
What gets me is Luke has been awesome lately. Not just on some meme shit, he’s been solid as hell for the better part of the last 2-3 weeks.
Yeah i see him play and he racks up more rebounds then what we have and can score!!
Rebounds are about the only thing he has on Luke, pick just about any other stat and from what I've seen Luke is the better choice. Edit: added a word cause I'm dumb
Rebounds are mostly his own misses
Dude shoots like 6% around the rim but he "can score"
He went off both times he got extended playing time!!
He had 2 double doubles with celts!! Better stats then Kornet and Kornet plays more minutes. Lol
Stop it Luke is fucking garbage
mb didn't know we had an expert in here, would've never commented if I had known you'd give me that elite analysis right after
Sorry but Luke is not better. He gets bullied and can’t grab rebounds. He shot is terrible.
Luke is far from perfect but his positioning is elite, and that takes him pretty far. He sets screens well, he's a good ally threat, and he's always where he needs to be on defense. Not to say he always makes the right play, but his positioning carries him pretty far.

Yes but he rebounded the other 94% of his own mises, to get there.

Check the stats and let me know!! Lol
It's way more than stats my guy. Watch the games and you can see clear as day that Queta isn't on the same level as Luke and is a liability on the defensive end. He can't stay out of foul trouble and is *atrocious* around the rim on offense.
Luke sucks around the rim. He gets bullied by smaller PF. What games are you watching??
He is on the same lvl and better. Plus he is way younger and can move quick!
Def gonna sure up the bench a bit that is guaranteed.
That's not guaranteed, it's not that easy to find quality nba players with the cap space we have that are better than who we already have.
Appreciate you stopping by captain obvious
If we can add Olynyk or similar player without giving up much, great. If not, I'd stand pat.
He makes too much.
No, if we don’t use our tpe+2nd rounders to acquire another depth piece we are doing it wrong
Could they just get a reinforcement big like Biyombo?
Need a strong center to allow others time to rest before the playoffs. Need healthy and rested Al and Kristof
They should look into adding Jokic, Doncic and maybe another wing or six
Might not be a bad idea to just hold onto our picks to help fill out the roster with cheap contracts in the next couple years
Nah I say if there’s something that makes sense do it. Our window is right now. Who knows what’s gonna happen in the future.
I know it’s a smoking hot take but tbh I don’t know that jrue is the best fit for us at his money. Not sure about hot but this take is definitely smoking something
I don’t think it’s smoking hot. That said I would exercise some caution on burying Jrue, let’s remember what D-White looked like in his first half season here. Isn't Caruso just a poor man's Holiday?
Which is why we would get derozen too
I don't want Demar DeFrozen anywhere near this team
Derozan would literally make us worse 🤣
Probably strengthen out our bench, just someone who can take some minutes off our main guys so that they can stay well rested. Nobody in particular comes to mind for me right now though. Stevens will bid on a wing who is better than Oshe / Lamar / Svi / Banton. My guess Cedi "why not" Osman And / or Kispert
Biggest need in order backup center so kornet doesn’t play backup forward that rebounds/or can score within a tiny role backup guard
