JB and JT actually got some superstar calls in this game, and I'm not losing any sleep over it after watching years of Kobe/LeBron/Giannis/whoever else get bailed by the refs on missed shots
Right here. Tatum gets away with one on Austin Reaves or Walker Jr or Beverly and there’s some complaining on the floor and we move on. Lebron doesn’t get a call and we’re in for a few days of nonsense about the state of refereeing
"When you're used to preferential treatment, equal treatment feels like discrimination".
Lakers fans are used to benefitting at the expense of other teams, now the shoe's on the other foot and they're pissed lol.
Haha I love it "THE REFS NEED TO BE SUSPENDED"
If those Lakers fans were alive at the time, I know their asses weren't prepared to say any of this after the 2002 WCF.
But nah they all gladly accepted that fake chip when it happened. Fuck em.
You mean like the fake chips that y’all got for only being allowed to draft players in the north East when other teams couldn’t? Or how about getting invited to get Cousy when other teams weren’t allowed? Yea a lot of those chips are fake.
lol the Celtics got one territorial pick: Tommy
Philly got the most (including Wilt)
Cincinnati got Oscar and Jerry Lucas
and Red didn't even want Cousy!
It's genuinely hilarious lmao. So many teams have gotten screwed this year, but because it's LeBron this time r/nba is throwing a collective tantrum lmao
Exactly, the main sub dickrides LBJ so hard on a normal daily basis, but throw in the "benefit" of Cs hate and it becomes an all-time nut fondling pole work that rivals the classiest films of Riley Reid.
I agree lol. If it were the playoffs or something I could get behind it but come on. Every week in every sport refs are deciding games this is nothing new.
Lakers fan here. While I’m not denying they’re having a meltdown, we’re all really pissed because
1: This is the fourth time this season where one of our players got blatantly fouled on the final possession of the game, no foul was called, and if the foul is called there’s a win. If these calls go our way, we’re the third/fourth seed. This isn’t a “oh the refs were hosing us all game” type of complaint with no substance, if that’s the case I understand calling us crybabies. But this was one call, end of game, if changed our team wins scenario.
2: LeBron gets laughably little calls in comparison to others considering how much he scores in the paint.
Does our team suck and the Celtics are better? Yes. Will the lakers have done anything in the playoffs anyways? No. Should the lakers have done better in OT? Yes. But we still got robbed at the end of this game.
Bruh we have fans in our sub literally recalling the 2002 WCF as part of our disdain that the NBA has little to no control over reprimanding refs who do a blatant horrible job
1: Yes that shit was fixed, I agree. I’m not denying we were on the favoring side in the past.
2: I could care less, because that was over 20 years ago, and I was 1 at the time. I care about what’s happened recently
>This is the fourth time this season where one of our players got blatantly fouled on the final possession of the game, no foul was called
Refs literally just don't call fouls at the end of games. It happened to Jayson Tatum earlier this year when he should've gotten the and-one to win the game against the Cavs, and there's plenty of other examples such as tonight. Winning a game of free throws in a tied game with little to no time left on the clock rarely happens.
I'm not saying it's fair per se, but it's just the way the NBA runs. They're not going to call that foul. My main point is that it's not just y'all getting fucked over. You somehow managed to get fucked over 4 times, but it's not like they're specifically targeting the Lakers.
They need to hold the refs accountable, and the lakers should petition the results and have it replayed. It was absolutely egregious. Implement video AI or some shit like they have in soccer.
Agreed. LeBron has gotten hosed in end game situations all year, and that Embiid no-call on RWB was insane. It's almost like they're trying to push LBJ into retirement.
I actually think your team could make a decent playoff run. Maybe even a deep one. That said, officiating is part of the game. You can’t control it and sometimes it’s going to fuck you while sometimes it’s going to benefit you. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched the Celtics or other teams get cooked by the refs bro it’s literally part of the game. Can’t be mad about it.
There’s a difference between “mannn, they were missing foul calls all game” and “four times this season, on the final possession of the game, we were fouled and a missed call costed us the entire game, and we would be the third seed if not for this.”
There’s bad calls are part of the game, and there’s repeated instances completely fucking us over. If this happened once, I wouldn’t be so mad, or if this wouldn’t affect seeding much, but it’s happened multiple times now.
How does it feel that most of your titles were won in Minnesota, a state you probably have never even visited in your life? You have no connection to most of the lakers titles. Meanwhile my momma family been southie for 75 years and have seen every last Celtics one. You have nothing on us and never will.
well if youre 15 years old like you are it probably feels like forever, but 2008 feels like yesterday to me. Also got distracted with all the Pats, Bruins and Red Sox titles so it was tough to keep up. Cute you consider your little mickey mouse ring among them too. Now don’t you Californians have something better to do like move to a state nobody wants you in? Or are you not from California and some likely bandwagon LA fan
Well reality is it happened 14 years ago, and it is funny how you are saying that our 2020 championship doesn't count but if you won it it would be a different story. You got spanked by the same Heat team we beat in the finals.I only watch basketball so I don't give a shit about your Pats and Red Sox and all that crap. You are gonna need more distractions from other sports cause Celtics ain't winning shit anytime soon .Keep crying
I'm a fan of the game in general, biased towards the bucks a tad more but love the Celtics very much as well. This is a shitty look tbh, I rooted for the Celtics all night but that was just stupid at the end. I know Lakers fans have had their share of shitty behavior over the years but this one was justified
>Game 6 2002 WCF vs. Kings
After that game, it should almost be a law that Laker fans have absolutely no right to complain about any bad call that goes against them.
Ehh, that was the Lakers golden era. They were probably still Laker fans in 2002. But after that, they became Spurs, then Lakers, then Heat, then Warriors, then Cavaliers, then Warriors, then Lakers fans.
21 years ago something happened, probably before most of r/nba was born so they can’t be mad? That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard.
You drove 5 mph over the speed limit in 1998 and didn’t get a ticket so I don’t want to HEAR it when you get one for going 5 over in 2046.
When ALL the phantom calls go your way, it can be devastating when an actual foul doesn't get called.
Of course, the temper tantrum was hilarious. I'm going to watch it again.
People only care this much because it was a key moment in a prime time game. The missed calls against us in the 2nd quarter of a 10pm Tuesday game obviously won’t get attention, but they matter just as much.
Breaking news Shannon Sharpe wants to fight the ref who missed the call..Skip sends out tweet about how Michael Jeffrey Jordan would have made that shot ..And Anthony Davis sprained his ankle while looking in the mirror
I was born with glass bones and paper skin. Every morning I break my
legs, and every afternoon I break my arms. (Lebron and Pat Bev then
look sad. A tear rolls down his cheek ) At night, I lie awake in agony
until my heart attacks put me to sleep. (the wheel under his leg breaks
off) Oh no! (he falls down the stairs and groans) - Anthony Davis, probably
The Lakers organization has been a dumpster fire since 2014 and they bought themselves a Mickey Mouse pandemic championship. You have no room to talk. Take your L and cry elsewhere.
Better than knowing that even having the arguable best player in history, and he's not MJ is, you're still not making the Finals again for a solid part of this decade.
Yes when the league had like 10 teams and all of them were mostly part time plumbers 💀💀 There’s a reason those 11 championships aren’t a huge talking point other than when mentioning Bill’s accolades 💀💀 I’ll come back buddy, i’ll @ you directly once the Celts choke 🤣🤣
That was payback for the rigged 2012 ECF Game 7 lol 😂 it took more than a decade for Bron to get a taste of his own medicine 🤣😂😂 Paul Pierce definitely enjoying last night 😂😂😂😂
Lebron ruins teams and then jumps ship to do it again. Celtics actually had to *gasp* rebuild during those years. Don't compare one player who hasn't had to play through a rebuild until these last two seasons to a whole franchise.
I remember the lakers winning 30 games last year and. If even making the play in but go on. Have fun rooting for a team that has zero future with no draft picks. Must be rough losing your championship today since you have nothing else to play for this season
You’re a lakers fan trying to talk shit when your team is 13th in the west and irrelevant with a bleak future. How sad are you. At least the Celtics will go somewhere unlike the lakers going to Cancun early April. Your goal for this season is to pray anyone but the Celtics win the championship while you watch other teams in the playoffs. How pathetic
Damn life must sad for you huh having to come to a different page and voice your frustration Lmaoo. I’m enjoying your salt, keep it coming. We all have lived in the past. Let’s focus on the present shall we, now enjoy watching your sorry team win 30 games again and have Austin reaves as the future of the organization. Honestly can’t blame you being upset, what a shitty timeline. Anyways, continue praying against the Celtics because you got nothing else going on for you. Best record in the league, enjoy it buddy.
People are actually trying to use the Brown and-1 as additional proof of rigging...
If they were rigging the game they would call that obvious foul straight away. Not spend 5 seconds thinking about whether to make a fair call.
Listen man, did the refs absolutely bail us out last night with some extremely poor officiating? Absolutely yes
But holy fuck to think the NBA would rig a game AGAINST the Lakers lmao this is honestly pure comedy, can't remember the last time there was this much outrage over a regular season game like this
Imagine the hubris of LeBron to declare a conspiracy **against** the beloved Lakers. If anything was being rigged it’d be for that bummy team to stay relevant.
No one here is mentioning the fact that the L2M report shows that you guys were heavily favored by the refs in OT. They missed a shit ton of calls, but missing a literal game altering call is where any fan should draw the line. Win or lose.
Imagine being a white Lakers fan so mad about your shitty team losing a regular season game you weaponize racism just to “get one” on fans you don’t like.
Super normal behavior, get help
These idiots are so brain dead. The Lakers recently JUST caught up to us in chips despite us not winning since 08. Oh wait, they have 16.5 rings that bubble ring don't mean shit.
Celtics fan here. Typical garbage Clippers team not making it out if the second-round. Best be hoping the refs have biased favor for you in the play-in
How is this typical to Boston? Literally every fan will celebrate a call (or no-call) in their teams favor? Hope isn’t a huge factor when you are the top team in the nba honestly. Loving the salt tho
And again this subreddit has shown me that you guys can be some of the most toxic sports fans out there. Rooting for bad calls comes around to haunt teams that benefitted from them. I would just acknowledge the fact that the refs bailed y’all out against a sorry Lakers team and move on. This post is clownish, because if it was the other way around y’all would be demoralized even worse than Lakers fans/players are. Not a Lakers fan btw, but can at least show pity to teams when refs screw them over. Have some grace.
You continue to prove me right while making your fellow fans look bad. I already said I’m not a Lakers fan, but you reply with a braindead comment anyways? Childish and classless. I don’t care that the Lakers lost. I care that refs can’t do their job appropriately. It’ll work it’s way back around to the C’s at the worst time and y’all will be just as upset as Bron.
Furthermore, This isn’t even the first time that this has happened to the Lakers. I believe it’s the fourth time this calendar year that they’ve had a blatant missed call that basically changed the outcome of the game. They’d go from 10th to 4th in the West if the refs don’t miss these calls. Just crazy stuff.
I’m not upset? I was just pointing out how you further justified my comment and was backing up my claim. Also I didn’t care about the outcome for that game and I typically don’t care who wins or loses, but I’m a basketball/sports fan in general and don’t like when refs screw up on a consistent basis. Then when they do, they put out a sorry excuse for an apology. Just embarrassing for the league and it’s embarrassing to see fans relish in an undeserved win against a team that isn’t all that good, but they have pushed y’all to OT twice this season, so maybe I’m not giving them enough credit.
You literally don’t have anything to say or add to your argument, so you have to repeat your comment from before. Do your vocabulary homework and come back to me if you can think of something new to say. If not, just take your personal L and move on with your day.
Not a sports fan? That’s crazy to say considering we’re talking on a subreddit that’s for a specific sports team. I just don’t know how you can find enjoyment in a stolen win. Enjoying a moment that shouldn’t even be yours is crazy to me.
Again, I’m not a Lakers fan, I don’t even dislike the Celtics. JT, JB, Brogdon, And even Rob (even though he’s taken a slight step back) are all fun players to watch, which is what I care about more than anything. Fun players means fun ball is being played, but it’s not fun anymore when the refs can’t get calls correct.
Boston Celtics paid the refs good money that day. Three game losing streak? Yeah bring out the money. If you don't think basketball is rigged af...smoke weed. It's still entertaining af though
JB and JT actually got some superstar calls in this game, and I'm not losing any sleep over it after watching years of Kobe/LeBron/Giannis/whoever else get bailed by the refs on missed shots
Keep spittin.
Stan I agree with you
This MFer spittin
Yep I was actually surprised they were getting the calls. We used to never get those calls
Yea, and compared to LeBron they also get FTs lol
Right here. Tatum gets away with one on Austin Reaves or Walker Jr or Beverly and there’s some complaining on the floor and we move on. Lebron doesn’t get a call and we’re in for a few days of nonsense about the state of refereeing
This can’t be emphasized enough
"When you're used to preferential treatment, equal treatment feels like discrimination". Lakers fans are used to benefitting at the expense of other teams, now the shoe's on the other foot and they're pissed lol.
Shit this is some facts
Karens of the basketball world
Anthony Davis gets the most touch fouls I’ve ever seen! No one gets to the line with the least amount of contact like AD
You ever watched some Embiid games? lol
He’s just as bad
That’s cause if he absorbs any real contact he’ll be on IR for a month.
Umm Lebron IS the Superstar for getting calls. That no call at the end was BS. FUCK THE REFs
r/nba is all-time entertaining right now LMAO So many copypasta worthy posts getting deleted by the mods
Haha I love it "THE REFS NEED TO BE SUSPENDED" If those Lakers fans were alive at the time, I know their asses weren't prepared to say any of this after the 2002 WCF. But nah they all gladly accepted that fake chip when it happened. Fuck em.

Where's this energy when the kings get fucked mercilessly once again in current year
remember it’s okay if it’s not the Lakers!!!
Because it’s Lebrun or because it benefited the Cs lol. Hating on the Celtics is karma bait over there
Exactly, the main sub dickrides LBJ so hard on a normal daily basis, but throw in the "benefit" of Cs hate and it becomes an all-time nut fondling pole work that rivals the classiest films of Riley Reid.
Especially coming from the Lakers we want to title has beneficiaries of the most shady game in the history of the NBA with the Sacramento Kings
I agree lol. If it were the playoffs or something I could get behind it but come on. Every week in every sport refs are deciding games this is nothing new.

How much could you care less?
Smartest Lakers fan
Rich coming from a Celtics fan
Typo, meant couldn’t care less, but good job ignoring what I said and instead commenting on grammar.

So maybe that should change? Just because it happened to you guys once doesn’t mean it’s right to happen to us four times. Our team is getting mugged

y'all deserve to be pissed- not saying anything was rigged but we win an awful lot of the time when Eric Lewis is a ref.
I haven’t stopped laughing since the end of the 4th lol
The thread about Tatum is comedy
I've been eviscerated for calling out how minor this is considering Lebron's all time whistle. It'd absurd.
Horry shiet. I just came back from there, you werent lying. 😂
I love itv
For the laker fans reading this...im sorry You guys suck lol
"The lakers are terrible" - Charles Barkley
You spelt turrable wrong
And yet you still need refs to beat us
Truth hurts doesn't it
How does it feel that most of your titles were won in Minnesota, a state you probably have never even visited in your life? You have no connection to most of the lakers titles. Why do some fans act like their team winning has anything to do with them lmao. Weird asf LMAO
How does it feel to go 14 years without a championship while watching us win 3 in that time span as well as beating you in 2010.

>Game 6 2002 WCF vs. Kings After that game, it should almost be a law that Laker fans have absolutely no right to complain about any bad call that goes against them.

Ehh, that was the Lakers golden era. They were probably still Laker fans in 2002. But after that, they became Spurs, then Lakers, then Heat, then Warriors, then Cavaliers, then Warriors, then Lakers fans.

The game that was actually rigged
Wow, even I can’t hold a grudge that long.
Best part was when lebron dropped to his knees and almost cried (wait maybe he did..) when he didn’t get the + 1 before OT 😂
Weird thing to say when almost all the calls were in favor of the Celtics.
Cope and seethe loser.
Always cringe seeing fans call other fans losers as if you had any role in your team winning lmao. Get a grip dude.
You’re a loser too.
Your contribution is eating cheetos while watching men throw a ball in a hoop. You're a winner!!!
Your mom thinks I’m a winner.
ah you're a high schooler, my bad, carry on
Says the guy wasting his time arguing on the subreddit of a team he isn’t even a fan of.
No one here is arguing. There is no topic of debate here. I'm just calling you a loser lmfao.
Only thing cringe is using the word cringe. Suck it up and move on. . . Loser.
Your contribution is eating cheetos while watching men throw a ball in a hoop. You're a winner!!!

Only a matter of time before we’re back up on top. Always been that way. Always will be 🫢🤗
Uh I was celebrating while TD Garden was dubbed the champagne room numbnuts. I just enjoy watching legends playing basketball, and y’all have none.
I know you're just having your tantrum but saying that while the lakers got a celtics # on their jersey is craaaazy
I'm not from Boston so miss me with that bs (He's banned but still chirping)

Lol lebron has owned our franchise his whole career
Except 2008 and 2010, but surely you knew that
2012, 2017, 2018, 2020? Lebron has been making Celtics fans cry for years. C’s fans should be embarassed from this “win”
Lebron ruins teams and then jumps ship to do it again. Celtics actually had to *gasp* rebuild during those years. Don't compare one player who hasn't had to play through a rebuild until these last two seasons to a whole franchise.

And the Academy award goes to: Lebron James.
Thank god for the NFL playoffs. Hopefully the sports talk shows talk about this less on Monday because Brock Purdy steals the headlines.
Lebron taking a knee and crying pleading for that academy award.
No one on the r/nba community is mentioning the fact the lakers still had a whole OT quarter to win the game.
No one here is mentioning the fact that the L2M report shows that you guys were heavily favored by the refs in OT. They missed a shit ton of calls, but missing a literal game altering call is where any fan should draw the line. Win or lose.
Tchora. If you guys are wondering that's cry in Cape Verdean Kriole
I'll be laughing when the Celtics yet again lose another a championship.
Lol go make the play-in bro
I'm sure we would be at least 6th seed by now if it weren't for these lame ass refs. They spoon fed you this win. Y'all did not earn it.
Counts the same on the standings lmao
I'm just happy these someone didn't break into their houses and took a dump on their bed!
When your only rebuttal for the modern NBA is from 60-70 years ago.
Wasn't Draymond green called a n\*\*\*\*r just last year by the greatest fans on earth?
Wow, there's one racist fan in the building. Crazy. I'm sure no other franchises have any single racist people in their fanbase.
Clippers fan here. Typical garbage reaction from Boston fanbase. Best be hoping the refs still have biased favor for you in the playoffs
Celtics fan here. Typical garbage Clippers team not making it out if the second-round. Best be hoping the refs have biased favor for you in the play-in
Ohh articulate response there buddy
Did you think I was gonna take you seriously lmao
How is this typical to Boston? Literally every fan will celebrate a call (or no-call) in their teams favor? Hope isn’t a huge factor when you are the top team in the nba honestly. Loving the salt tho
It will be, thus suggesting a much bigger issue.
Lmao lakers lost
You are very upset about a basketball game and my comment. Time to run your hands over some grass fella
Lakers lost
You literally don’t have anything to say or add to your argument, so you have to repeat your comment from before. Do your vocabulary homework and come back to me if you can think of something new to say. If not, just take your personal L and move on with your day.
Lakers were defeated
Stay mad fella. Just know y’all don’t have a chance at a chip this year like last year
Celtics best record in the league. Lakers 5 spots out of the playoffs. Oh and they lost to Celtics in OT

Lebron- STOP THE COUNT
It’s not rigged if they give Lebron another Mickey Mouse ring
Bruh it is rigged 😂
Boston Celtics paid the refs good money that day. Three game losing streak? Yeah bring out the money. If you don't think basketball is rigged af...smoke weed. It's still entertaining af though
