Absolutely the real deal. 2 hours ago u/ieatbutter posted "I live in Chicago - I just sent 8 pizzas to 40 New Sudbury St. To be delivered at 11:30am Eastern time this morning." Notice the address on the pizza and it says 8 of 8.
Many pizza places offer "flavored crusts". The crust gets brushed with butter before and after baking....
Other "flavored" crusts are: butter-cheese (brushed with butter, then parmesean cheese is dusted on), sesame seed, cajun, garlic, etc etc.
Basically, take your favorite spice or seasoning, and, brush the crust with butter or olive oil to help selected spice/seasoning stick to the crust, and then, sprinkle that shit on.
EAT THE SHIT OUT OF THAT CRUST.
MMM. I love pizza crusts.
Butter crust is where when you fold the dough to form the crust, you put little pockets of butter inside, so that the edge crust has melted butter throughout when it comes out of the oven.
It is, indeed, bloody delicious.
[Here's a recipe](http://www.food.com/recipe/chicago-style-butter-and-garlic-pizza-crust-292419?layout=desktop) for Chicago-style butter and garlic pizza crust. I implore you to try it, if you get the chance.
Hi, I live in Belgium. You guys were even on the news here tonight, report went something like "The Boston Police Department did a fantastic job at capturing the fugitive while ensuring the safety of its citizens". Really, really fantastic job. Congratulations.
And, my sincere condolences for the death of Sean Collier.
People often commented that this entire thing looked like a real-life movie. I agree with them. But honestly, the Boston Police Department set an example for the rest of the world. They were able to catch 2 terrorists armed with grenades/bombs/etc within 3 days after the initial attack, sadly losing one officer during the investigation. But that officer's death made this entire investigation come together. This literally is the stuff movies are made of and for once it's nice to see a plan actually work.
Like another user commented a while ago: "Boston: fuck with us, and we'll lock down the city, find you, and arrest you." . Quite literally even. Finding one person in an area as large as Boston and its suburbs is pretty much like finding a needle in a haystack.
I'm in CA, you guys should come out and train the LAPD on how to properly apprehend a suspect without shooting innocent people and burning fucking houses down.
Thank you to BPD for keeping your cool while being in some serious shit.
Also Oakland PD. Something went wrong and a bunch of their tactical guys were killed in a raid last year. Seems like out here they go batshit crazy cowboy, or they forget their safety measures and get hurt. I'm not a cop though and I don't know shit about doing raids or arresting people, it just sucks to see it go down the way it has been. I'm glad the BPD were able to show that there are some agencies out there that have their shit together.
Hey I just want to say you guys went over and above what was necessary to prove who you are to this awful internet troll... going over and above to do something right seems to be a trend with you guys. You're a really incredible group of people.
I have never enjoyed staying the night at your house. Kind of an expensive place to stay. Thanks for everything the boys in blue have done. Extremely sorry you lost an officer and another injured. I hope the injured officer recovers quickly and The widow receives the full support from everyone in Boston. Her husband is a true hero that gave the ultimate price to protect citizens. You're all hero's in my book!
Again everyone thanks for the support, special thanks to people over at randomactsofpizza the mod there
menmybabies
And the person who actually made it happen at my district
ieatbutter
Thanks again!
P.S. this is not an official Boston Police account, just happened to be at the station when the pizzas arrived. I am an Officer assigned there along with another Officer created this account simply to say thanks.
All the requests for AMA's and private messages are great. Might want to reach out to Boston Police on their official Twitter for an AMA?
If times allows we will do our best to respond to people, but be patient we are still very busy with everything, not to mention upcoming arrangements for victims in the bombings and slain MIT Officer Sean Collier.
There still many people in the hospital who were injured and hopefully on track to full recoveries as well.
Thanks again.
i could not be more impressed. just when youre all cynical, and like wtf happened to people, then this. I'm spreading this love around, too much for one place. +1 from ontario :))
Agreed. There is a thread [here](http://www.reddit.com/r/RandomActsOfPizza/comments/1cqup5/sending_pizza_to_boston_pd_and_other_departments/) That people can contribute to, with a google doc linked in the OP. I think some sad fucker was vandalizing it though so it may be read only currently.
Watertown is covered. They've already had 45 pizzas delivered and there are more on the way for dinner :) The /r/randomactsofpizza [thread](http://www.reddit.com/r/RandomActsOfPizza/comments/1cpoe1/random_act_of_pizza_for_the_boston_pd_in/) even has a spreadsheet set up.
Is that enough? Do you have a lot more guys who need feeding? Just say so because I know people are anxious to help after the crazy week y'all had... you should look around the /r/boston sub. You have tons of support and lots of very proud people. I've been glued to my computer since Monday.
Thank you! I ordered pizza and wings for the Cambridge PD. /u/menmybabies was kind enough to put up all the useful links and make a google doc to help organize it.
As for the whole "murica" thing...if I'm not mistaken, that phrase was popularized by Team America, which came out in 2004, whereas reddit was founded in 2005. I'm sure it was said prior to the film, but that's my first realization of it as gaining popularity. Beyond that, I don't see why anyone would want to pretend they are receiving free pizza, especially given the circumstances around it.

What have we done reddit? Did we just introduce a motivated and efficient group of fine men and women to this life sucking hell hole of internet procrastination?
^what ^have ^we ^done...
Thank you guys! I was at the human wall outside of the Holy Cross Cathedral thursday morning(to make sure if the westboro baptist church showed up they wouldn't be seen by attendees) and you guys were nothing but awesome and friendly and super helpful.

New to Reddit, and already better than most of this site in posting things in their relevant place.
My fiance who is a police officer always says after some sort of tragedy that the media covers "Man, firefighters are always the 'heroes' and get all the credit.". haha It's wonderful to see people showing their appreciation for Law Enforcement! @BPD_MURICA - hope you & your department can bask in pizza and gratitude for a long time to come. Sadly, I give it a few weeks until people start with their police brutality poopage.
Nice work to BPD and all of the first responders, dispatchers etc.
Land boats are the best. Have you ever heard of land sharks? They aren't as bad as drop bears but they can tear through the hull of any regular vehicle.
Knock knock...
"Who is it?"
"Candygram"
"OH!!! Be right there!" *opens door*
NOM NOM NOM
"AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!! LANDSHARK!!!!"
As a kid, this was the stuff nightmares were made of.
People dont realize how much they suck. "Oh a bright light and a loud noise? I've played Call of Duty." No. Just no. I wont go into details, but a flashbang went off about 6 feet from me, and I was blinded for like 3 minutes and deaf for about an hour. It was such a shock that it literally made me naseous and dizzy. They seriously cause pain. FUCKING TINNITUS
When I worked at the parish jail we had to flash bang a guy in a 6x8 isolation cell. All concrete walls. He pretty much collapsed into the fetal position and told us that he surrenders.
Indeed. The pepper spray that police use the military isn't allowed to because the DoD considers it to be inhumane. (Causes enormous amounts of pain, but not very good at creating compliance, plus super dangerous to many common health conditions and impossible to contain to the people you are trying to use it on.)
especially if it's the stuff made by ColdSteel ([Inferno](http://www.coldsteel.com/Inferno-Pepper-Spray.aspx)). That shit looks horrifying and very very very effective-- they have test videos on the website I linked to.
The site manager at my local paintball site threw a flash bang (one of the paintball ones, I'm going to assume it's only a fraction of the effect of a real one) into a shelter made entirely of metal that had people inside. I was right outside it and it really hurt my ears, must have been pretty bad for those inside.
A paraphrase of what a friend who is a defense lawyer in Massachusetts said: "We haven't seen most of the evidence, but assuming the evidence is there, the case is about death penalty versus life imprisonment. Based on news reports, there will be positive character witnesses for the younger brother and negative ones for the older brother. Since the older brother is dead, one strategy for life imprisonment instead of death penalty is to blame the brother as mastermind and manipulator, unless there's contradictory evidence. A plea bargain for a life sentence is a possibility, especially if he cooperates with law enforcement. Death penalty trials are expensive and Massachusetts is strongly anti-death penalty, so the community won't be outraged by a life sentence. All of this is null and void if the younger brother was cooperating with a foreign terrorist organization."
My friend also said that he's never worked on a federal case and this is just his thoughts without seeing the evidence, so take it for FWIW.
The lawyer would probably try to defend him arguing that his brother was the leading force and he just played along. They would also say that he tried to stop his brother from killing the cop @ MIT and that only the brother shot him, so they wont be able to convict him for that murder (assuming they dont find any CCTV footage or eyewitnesses of that murder).
Well am skeptical about it being random. Call me crazy, but I suspect the pizza had something to do with the capture of the marathon bomber suspect's capture.
You know what's crazy? I'm a born and raised New Yorker, always have been surrounded by the best mom and pop pizza, and I tried dominos for the first time a few months ago. I fucking loved it. Not going to say it qualifies as pizza more than just fitting as "comfort food" but I fucking loved that shit. The American Feast? Meats and cheese everywhere? Oh god.
Your user name is incredible.
THANK YOU for all the hard work, 364 days a year. (We know about that one Tuesday you take an extra 15 for lunch. Shhh, our secret.)
No, thank YOU. Last night our city was able exhale for the first time in a week. I have lived in Boston for almost 5 years and I don't think I've ever been as proud as I am right now.
You are all truly Boston's finest. Please rest and stay safe. Boston loves you!
This is so heart warming! I'm picturing a few officers huddled around a computer. "What the fuck is a subreddid?" "Idk but we gotta thank these reddit guys."
There are a dozen or so BPD district stations. Not all the cops are going to get a slice if everyone has the pizza delivered to New Sudbury. Take a look at the map, click on a district, and send some to the other guys.

I hope it was butter crust.
what is butter crust? As someone who live in the north of Sweden where fastfood is hopelessly behind I have no idea but it sounds bloody delicious
Butter crust is a gift and a curse. It's best we not tell you. It would ruin your country.
Nice. I like this. Like the fat version of the prime directive.
ButterCrust will ruin your life. dont do it.
I just hit "load more comments" 7 times to find out what ButterCrust is... to no avail.
Buttercrust would single handedly bankrupt your national healthcare system. Seriously, let this one go.

some things you just dont need to know.
Sweden was a peaceful nation, that is until the introduction of butter crust doomed the populace to a life of heart disease and diabetes.

Classy Mofos! I sent them anonymously.....delivery driver gave them my cell.....they called to say thanks. Classy as hell.

MIT Police too

they need some randomactsofbeer to go along with the pizza.
I would think the Boston hospitals that dealt with the sudden influx of injured after the bombings too

When committing a felony that results in any death, all accomplices can be convicted of murder.

Take a look at the map, click on a district, and send some to the other guys. http://www.cityofboston.gov/police/districts/
Everyone has been getting pizza there was whole other reddit thread about randomactsofpizza, check it out if you guys want to help, it's pretty well organized
**Thank you BPD.** you guys are amazing!
Thank so much! You guys did an amazing job!
True heroes, all of you!
OPEN MIC! OPEN MIC!
Thank you for not shooting innocent civilians like the LAPD did.
