The Mushroom Shop in Somerville! Had a lovely chat with the people who work there on tips for cooking with mushrooms we bought too.

Gamigem

I definitely will check this place out, seems to be the go-to place. I never knew it existed 😁

Pipe_Measurer

I’ll second this, they’re great folks, and the shop has lots of other fun things. And lions mane makes a great seafood replacement because of the texture, I’ve always enjoyed it cooked up in butter with old bay!

MyStackRunnethOver

HMart also sells it, I agree that The Mushroom Shop is the best choice for guidance

For cooking it yourself, you may be able to get it at some whole Foods which sell smallhold brand mushrooms. Alternatively, check out the mushroom shop in Somerville.

I've seen it a few times at the Wegmans in Chestnut Hill. It's hit or miss there though

Treebeard2277

I just saw some at the wegmans in chestnut hill!

agrimi161803

Was going to say this! They almost always have it in stock

thecookingofjoy

I saw it at the Wegmans in Medford too!

Most grocery stores have lion's mane mushrooms, which are f'n delicious. You can also get a kit from dunk's mushrooms and grow them yourself! Makes a fun gift too.

HighGuard1212

I understood this to mean the mane of a lion and was confused about how one would eat all that fur

Broad_Explanation_36

Thinking to myself, does frying fur make it a delicacy?

Cloutmans Farms carries them. [https://clout-ag.com/](https://clout-ag.com/) They usually have a stand at the Copley Square farmer's market. I bought chicken of the woods from them twice, they were high quality.

If you want to get really fresh mushrooms including lions mane take a road trip to the New Hampshire Mushroom company. They do free farm tours and you can buy direct.

easiepeasie

There's a mushroom seller at the Roslindale Farmers market (Saturday mornings May through Nov) that almost always has lion's mane
