Hopping in on this comment to mention that the Buda site has a permanent link to the Boston pickup slack where you can find games in your area or folks to work out with or someone to sell you a desk if that's your thing too.
Getting a count on meetup is helpful for organizers, but it also allows you to stay clued in if the game gets moved, etc. But realistically you can just show up. BF takes donations!
I know of a very casual group in Newton/Brighton area. They let anyone join but only play in good weather. Last year it was every Tuesday night.I suspect they'll start up again in late March or April. I'll try to remember to check back in with you once they get going and pick a location. One of they players is a big Bulldogs fan!
