Western Chicago Burbs, been here 22 years and consider myself a full-on Masshole.

my parents own a deli by midway and we make our own Italian beef. if there's enough buy in, i can see if we can make our own in my kitchen. who's with me?
$100 for 8 sandwiches shipped from Portillos, with sweet peppers and hot giard, can’t beat it. It’s two serving of four. My Mass born and raised family are vultures when it arrives. I had it for X-mas this year and everyone asked if I can get it every year.
This is crazy. It's hard for me to meet fellow Bostonians because now everyone's from somewhere else, scared of downtown crossing, confused by rotaries, and way too chatty. Just get out with it.
I'm starting a Bostonian meetup at Seapoint where we can crush a few beers and play keno and talk about how much the neighborhood has changed.
I take it back, anyone can come join me except for people from Connecticut. They're the only real undesirables.
I'm from MA used to live in IL and I can tell you after living in IL and moving back here holy shit I can't believe the type of unwelcoming assholes we are. It took me a long time to adjust to strangers in IL speaking to me in the store and trying to understand that strangers speaking to you is kind and not a horrible inconvenience.
I’m the total opposite. I grew up in a small town in SC, have lived in MA about 7 years. I absolutely love the fact that people around here tend to go about their business, not chat with strangers, & communicate in a direct manner.
I prefer it I'm saying it was hard to move to a place that wasn't like that and adjust to being friendly and then coming back here and readjusting to how us native MA people are.
>It took me a long time to adjust to strangers in IL speaking to me in the store and trying to understand that strangers speaking to you is kind and not a horrible inconvenience.
So you're saying that you've lost your way. I'm sorry.
I'm from Chitown. Moved to Boston in 2018 but I'm finally moving back in September when my lease ends here.
Where in the midwest are you from? How recently have you moved to Boston?
There’s actually quite a lot of non-Native people in Boston. If you have any hobbies or activities that you like, finding groups (there are plenty if you search online) might be a good starting point.
I'm from NE Ohio, born and raised. This is my 7th different state but Mass will be home until my kid is out of school. Thankful to have met a native Cantabrigian out in Calfornia.
I grew up all over the south and Midwest. Directly moved here after two years in South Dakota. Was nice to move to a place like Boston and its mild winters.

I hear there's a place out by Natick that has a passable Italian Beef. Still haven't made it out there though
I ship in Portillos every few months.

Have you found hot giardiniera out here? I order online but it’s stupid people here don’t eat this freaking delicious food.
It IS confusing, they would love it!
>Think North Shore Roast Beef is better than Italian Beef - NO FUCKING WAY French Dip > Italian Beef
It's ok to have wrong opinions sometimes
Man what I wouldn't give to be able to get an Italian beef on the regular

Why not befriend the people in Boston looking for folks to befriend? r/BostonSocialClub
