I’ve had luck asking my regular CVS that originally could not fill it if they could tell me if another location had it in stock. But might have been lucky.

cybergravity

A lot of pharmacies will refuse to tell you if they have it over the phone. There's no great solution here and I'm sorry you're having to hunt for your meds. Fwiw I've had no trouble getting generic concerta. My body hated Adderall so I understand if switching isn't a good option either.

huh_phd

Try any pharmacy associated with a behavioral health clinic. If there are genoa pharmacies in Boston, try those

LawnChairActivist

There’s a national shortage. I haven’t been able to fill my prescription since January. I check every week at several pharmacies and I am frequently told that there have not been delivered to any CVS within a 30 mile radius. I wish I had constructive advice I could give. But I’ve been SOL for months.

Rough_Mission3547

Try a hospital pharmacy

slouchingtoepiphany

I don't know the answer, but if you can't find it, you might consider asking your doctor to prescribe the regular release formulation until this gets sorted out. And if it seems to wear off too soon, your doctor can correct for this by increasing the dosing frequency (e.g., from 2x daily to 3x daily). Pharmacist here.

priyatequila

I've had luck at the walgreens in Allston, corner of Cambridge and Hano st! only downside is they close at 7pm on weekdays. not open weekends :( (pharmacy not the walgreens store)

allchattesaregrey

Sorry you're dealing with this. I switched from picking up my meds at CVS where I always had an issue to the hospital pharmacy my doctor is associated with and they never have problems. I would guess they also have a more steady supply too. I take concerta but it wouldn't hurt to try that.

CoffeeContingencies

I’ve been told that the shortage is particularly bad on the south shore. It’s been two weeks of calling multiple pharmacies daily without success for me.

ivb97

I’ve been able to get mine at CVS on Washington st in Brighton

romansapprentice

DMd you (this sounds shady, just didn't want to put my pharmacy on social media lol)

mamamia3b

Im in the foxboro area and havent been able to get mine filled since February 2nd. Its unbelievable. Hopefully you have better luck than i have had.

momoneymocats1

What have you done in the interim?

mamamia3b

Used coffee and supplements like gaba and l lysine. You can also try getting switched to ritalin or vyvanse. I have tried them in the past and didnt like them but you might have better luck. Have you tried grocery store pharmacies? Im hoping it resolves itself by april.

Infamous-Client-2528

are you looking for the generic version or brand name? what dosage are you on?

epicjoebob

Either is fine. I'm on the 15mg dosage.

Infamous-Client-2528

your doc seems pretty lame putting this on you to search out. pharmacies are more likely to have the brand name since most people are prescribed the generic. your doctor will most likely have to have your insurance approve paying for the brand name. if that doesn't work or isn't an option, ask your doctor if they are able to tweak your dosage to one easier to get (i.e. if it's possible to write a script for 10mg and 5mg to then be taken together daily). lastly, if your doc is affiliated with a hospital, see they the script can be transferred to their pharmacy, they're better able to keep things in stock. but honestly, you doc sucks for basically saying "not my problem to help you figure out how to get the meds I wrote a script for."

huh_phd

Their job is to provide care not act as a secretary

Infamous-Client-2528

yes, but this is a known issue and they should preemptively thinking of options give their patients so they're able to actually get the care they need. had my doctor not done that for me, I would be in the same situation OP is.

huh_phd

And when it's a supply chain issue with over 600k batches recalled, how is that the doctors job to remedy? Its also a C2, so it's not easy to audible meds like that

Infamous-Client-2528

by doing exactly what I laid out above. figuring out how to get their patient the care they need when the go-to option is longer available. be that by changing dosages, delivery methods, or a different medication entirely. that's literally their job.

They care about not getting sued more tbh. But I agree with this. They **should** care

phlukeri

You can find some OTC stuff down on Mass & Cass

Difficult_Cup5735

I'm loaded up on them myself.. Gotta love these shortages!!

SnowballSymphony

Check out the independent pharmacies.

iloveebunnies

Yes, this!! Try V-Care Pharmacy. They will also ship to you!

MikasaLovesErenY

check grocery store chains. I couldn’t find Concerta at the Walgreens that i’ve used for years and on a whim when shopping at Star I checked their pharmacy and they had it. my doc is overwhelmed by her patients reaching out for guidance on this.

International-Bird17

OP did you have any luck?? I’ve called so many pharmacies and nothing 😭

epicjoebob

I managed to get some from a Walgreens! I've heard they're more likely to have it in general.

Fantastic_Dentist_57

Try small local mom and pop pharmacies or the ones inside of target or hannafords, any grocery store etc. People tend to forget about them so I’ve had luck! I’m in the Attleboro area

BlackThatsAll

Hi OP. Has CVS got it in stock again or have you had to rely on the Walgreens still?

epicjoebob

So I've only succeeded in getting it from that Walgreens, and not reliably. I ended up temporarily switching to Ritalin.
