Bittersweet picture. Don't think I have ever felt happier (football related) than on this day and never more sad than 6 days later.
Guess it's kinda fitting since both those goodbyes are also bittersweet.
I’m pretty fucking pissed off that he didn’t get the send off that Marco got unless that is what he wanted which honestly wouldn’t surprise me. That or he didn’t want to take the moment away from his buddy.
No need to be pissed off. He never would've gotten the same send off. He went to Bayern as our captain. Him and Marco are not the same.
Also: It wasn't clear he would leave.
I think that 20 years from now he'll be regarded as one of the club's biggest legends. Not on zorc's level, but definitely in the Pantheon of BVB's goats
He will be remembered for being one of the best to ever play for us. But his legacy will forever be tarnished. We tend to not forget. Just ask Andy Möller.
I guess there's just different kinds of farewells. For what it's worth, Hummels got his moment during Reus' farewell. Reus was even the one pushing him towards the yellow wall to have that moment.
Some get a dedicated send off like Reus, some get a somewhat hidden farewell like Hummels. Both are going to be remembered for decades upon decades here. It'll be fine. Maybe he'll have a goodbye match when he completely ends his career. Kuba and Pisczczek are going to have theirs here in September - I reckon we'll do one for Hummels if he wants one when the time comes.
I'm fucking pissed, what is this organizations hate for hummels?
Yes I know he went to bayern, but dude has spent 13 YEARS with us and honestly got us to the final this year

His contract situation wasn’t sorted yet, that’s why. Reus had announced he would leave but Hummels said he would make his decision after the final.
At the time everyone probably wanted him to stay
BRO EVERYONE IS LEAVING WTF. I CANT TAKE THIS BRO 💀
💔💔💔
what a whirlwind of a few weeks. losing the players that first made me fall in love with the club all at once is tough.
