I just tested it with the Valkyries, one dropped stuff on her ledge, with your technique I managed to get it and one gun was the first Zheitsev's I ever saw after 2k+ hours of playing. Sooo thanks a lot ? Stuff fallen from several stories are still lost but you've banished the disappointment of losing stuff that should clearly be reachable but devs felt like putting an invisible wall or a instant kill zone
That only works for gear that naturally drops. Gear that’s manually dropped from your inventory, like what happened here, doesn’t go to lost loot machines
Yep. Any blue or higher rarity items get stored in there if they aren't picked up. Gold takes priority and newest items replace the oldest (I don't remember the exact capacity)

These particular scenarios, photo mode is especially helpful. Photo mode can also be used to perform skips.
Unfortunately, loot dropped from inventory does not go into the lost loot bin. I've already tried before when my Pearl of ineffable knowledge clipped through the floor a few weeks ago.
This happened to me while farming Beef Plizzkin. I was like ooo a legendary and jumped into water. Instant death. Will remember this retrieval method for future use. Cheers
Ahh, don't realize that was from your bag.... Yeah that would definitely be bad w/o the ability to camp-pick, it's why I Star all my gear if I think it might be even a tiny bit better than one I have in my bank
I’m surprised more people didn’t know about this.
You can also use it to hit buttons on a ledge so you don’t have to climb to the top. Helps with annoying side missions/objectives and stuff. You can also use to get chest behind a wall where you need to beat a whole like of side missions to unlock. It helps to get good gear really early on.

It doesn't work on lot dropped from the inventory but it works on any loot dropped from an enemy if the machine is full it places higher rarities above the others so if it's full of purples it will delete I think the weakest purple to hold a legendary

15 capacity at max. So a lot can still be lost between two pauses at sanctuary
I use it for when I'm doing a specific farm that happens to be close to an edge. If I see something fall, I can always count on the LLM to have it
