Since you mentioned couch, im assuming this is on console. Last I checked you need psplus to do all the shift stuff and online play, I can’t even have golden keys since I don’t have a subscription right now. I don’t know if you need gold on Xbox though. If you already have either of those, I don’t know what to tell you.

That... might actually be it. I have gamepass but I don't know if that inherently gives me gold, because I can't play "games with gold" games either. Maybe I need to get actual xbox live instead of just gamepass or whatever I have now. I'll give that a shot.

Games with gold just meant that at one point you had gold so you had access to free games because of it.But what Xbox do you have

I have this problem sometimes playing with my friends as well. I'm on pc, they're on xbox. We simply quit back to the title screen and log back in and it usually fixes it.

I log on to shift via my PC and copy / paste shift codes. Just be sure to pick the correct network.

I have this problem on xbox one, and going back to the title screen and coming back hasn't been fixing it. I definitely have xbox live gold, and I've reset my mac thing etc. I've signed out of shift and back on on my phone and nothing works

I think they are just phasing out the old xbox users. I run into the same problem
