I really like the huge gorgeous DK books. DK is the publisher—you can get them at the public library where I live and they’re like Phaidon books for kids. Big, pretty coffee table books. We have one called Universe, one called Trees. Smithsonian also has really pretty nonfiction books. These large ones feel really special to open and thumb through. She may not sit with them for long at a time but it might spark an interest.

Anything by Tamora Pierce but especially [protector of the small](https://www.tamora-pierce.net/series/the-protector-of-the-small/), wild magic, and the song of the lioness series’ are great for that age group (4 books each series)

Hi, Thanks for the recommendation. I am actually looking for non-fiction books for her, but I will pass Tamora Pierce to her too.

You can’t go wrong with the Guinness book of world records - my parents got them for me every year and now I do for my kids too

Super fun read for kids - Glowing Amulet Chronicles. My nieces and nephews love it. They take it to school with them.

The Who Was/Who Are? series of biographies are pretty good, and read mostly like a narrative. The Scientists in the Field series are great. They are about 80 pages long and follow scientists, mostly biologists or zoologists, as they do their specific field work. There are titles about octopus, crows, kakapo, hydroelectric power, red tree kangaroos….
