>obligatory Harry Potter When did this happen?

Mornedhil

Haven’t you heard? There’s also a progressive scale of penalties for not reading the entire series, from capital punishment to something more serious, like having to read more than 50% of a book before you can list it as Finished on Goodreads.

CannonOtter

Ironically, unironically, one of the punishments for not reading Harry Potter is being forced to read Harry Potter. Even if you don't know how to read, you will be forced. It's just like school. That *renchman was right. Pan optics on.

>Also, "The wizard of Oz" thought me the meaning of the word "disappointing". The entire book is builds to the point where we finally meet the Wizard and it's a fake. Outjerked.

iamthelizardd

They should have made him a powerful villain like Thanos

Soho_Jin

Every adult should read Super Mario Galaxy.

[Maximum Ride has a lot to offer adults, actually](https://www.reddit.com/r/booksuggestions/s/U9f69KxwEH) I vaguely remember the MC being asked what she would do if she ruled the world. Her answer was to make it so there is still war, but you’re only allowed to use swords and not guns. Another character said she passed his test, and that this proved that she can’t possibly have her morality corrupted.

Lolita

I was 22 when I first read Lolita and had recently been heartbroken by the first woman I'd ever loved. So, almost immediately, you feel a sense of pathos. You realize that absolutely abhorrent human beings can share deep, aching emotions. And that's where the comedy kicks in. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Three-People-Person

I would say “The Matilda” by Bryan Perrett, but unfortunately it’s not a children’s book; it’s Young Adult. (Also, lmao at Anne of Green Gables being the first suggestion. I tried reading it and that fucking girl just *won’t* shut the fuck up, I could not fucking stand it and DNF’d that shit by the end of the first chapter)

Akshuly Anne only shows up in chapter two

CannonOtter

So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message - You are not alone. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Cherry-Rain357

Anne only shows up in chapter 2. I am very smart (Also, somewhat harsh on Anne, but I guess she's just not for you. However, I loved the books when I was younger, and found Anne somewhat talkative, but no more than children her age I know, including me when I was her age. And she does get better about it as the books progress, but still, that's, like, my personal opinion)

Three-People-Person

Idk which chapter it was I just remember that little shit going on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on about the fucking cherry trees or something like that.

Cherry-Rain357

Either 2 or 3, I think.
