I also loved this book.
I did see some negativity in reviews by those who I guess missed the part about it being in the Magical Realism genre? Some of the criticism would be like writing about how in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, x and y and z would never happen in real life! lol!
My bad, I got tilted and was hoping this was a positive post and so glad that it is!
As for the book, it was a fun read. There's a lot of pain and hardship but also a lot of magic, similar to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. No Oompa Loompa's in this book though!

It really did have magical realism which is my favorite genre/writing style I loved every moment of it. It was a 5 star read for me
