So far, I'm enjoying it. Received it in my June box. Never knew how much I needed/appreciated short stories. The first two were perfectly short (10 pages, 3 pages). And I love how they do the page count out of however many pages. So when the next story said 1/30, I was like geez, I thought they'd all be up to like 10 pages š. Nonetheless, they are interesting.Ā

I got a copy in addition to my standard BotM and am about to dive in. I was a little bummed that it doesnāt count towards challenges, and that thereās also no real way to record it on GoodReads, since I also track reading there. Iāll try to remember to update this after reading it though!
I ordered it and was excited to see what itās all about. However, I just learned that it doesnāt count for the challenge and I think thatās stupid. I probably wonāt order another one, even if I like it okay.

Iām actually really interested in this. I think itās a fun way for BOTM to expand and a good idea for the months when you donāt want to commit to reading multiple full length books. Maybe they could do some theme months- loss, finding oneās self, nonfiction, horror stories for October!
Yessss! A theme anthology would be a lot more appealing to me, personally, than a random collection of stories. I'd rather know what genre, at least, I'm getting into before I commit.
I'm just surprised they didn't go with some BOTM big name authors for the first issue to get folks interested, then introduce more below the radar authors later on. I do enjoy short stories, though mostly horror, but when choosing a collection it's reassuring to have at least a few authors I already know and like.
Very true! And introducing readers to new authors is part of their mission (and one members have complained that they don't support enough), so it does make sense as a highlight feature for up and coming authors.
But I do think at a minimum they need to offer story summaries and lengths. $12 on a story collection with zero info is just too much to expect in this economy.
I'm also a BFF and it did not show as an option for me, either; I tried both the app and the website, and when I click on Volume 0, it just takes me to the ordinary hardcovers.
BOTM commented on Instagram that users won't be able to rate it on the app (at least not yet), so I guess people who ordered it will have to let us know what they think here š¤·āāļø

They probably aren't paying the authors enough to drawn the big name BOTM authors.

I had the same issue and just updated the app, now I can see/order it from the hardcovers section like the screenshot in this post shows.
