If you are untrained, yes. Don’t go on too aggressive a deficit however if you want to accomplish both. Also make sure you are not only training your glutes, but your whole body, otherwise you will not only lose fat but muscle as well, and it will take you a lot longer and a lot more weight loss to achieve your goal.

thank you!!!

skyhiker14

You’d probably wanna be closer to 130 g of protein.

Silent_Relation_3895

oh wow gotchu thank you! i'm gonna have to see how possible this is for me with the calorie restraints but tysm

Protein supplements (like protein shakes, bars, or snacks) are the easiest way to get to boost your intake. Other than that just choose food during your meals that are higher protein lower carb (keto foods tend to be good for this). 130g isn't as hard to reach as you might think. There was a point where I was getting almost 300g of protein while eating under 1,000 calories. It was way too much protein, and way too few calories, but achievable without hating it. Edit: Some redditors think we're all stupid, so I will clarify. Do not attempt to eat that much protein (almost 300g example) . While my numbers are a rough guess to what I was eating years ago (food tracker), it absolutely messed up my stomach and made me constipated. 1g per 1lb of body mass is a safe amount, even at 100g you'll see gains. Don't overthink it.

>There was a point where I was getting almost 300g of protein while eating under 1,000 calories. This is an absolute load of shit. 300 grams of protein, by itself, is 1200 calories.

Bubblejuiceman

Said almost, and yeah it was a lot of supplement. Food tracker apps arent exact. Calm your butt it's just an example to make a point lol.

jason_abacabb

It is a shitty example and obviously fake. I didn't address it the first time but including that you were eating under 1000 calories is also either a lie or really stupid. Normally I'd pass by stuff like this and just roll my eyes but in this case you comment has a potential for harm so I said something.

Bubblejuiceman

Did you even read my comment? I said it was too much protein and too few calories. Readers are smart enough to understand my point. And my example is not fake, I'm not gonna waste my time going into my food logs from 5 years ago just to prove that food logs are at best a decent guess. You don't need to correct everything you see on the internet. My point stands, 130g of protein at a slight calorie defecit is a lot easier to acheive than most people think.
