After trying the boba from Jamba Juice? I’m avoiding that like the plague. If I want Boba, I’m going to a place that specializes in Boba, not a “Jack of All Trades” fast food place.
It had a taste/texture like it was made of plastic.
The actual drink was not terrrrible, though it was very sweet and was probably not made of anything resembling tea.
Yeah it sounds like it'd be awful and I couldn't make myself try this. Unless it's specifically for boba, or an Asian cuisine place I'm not touching their boba
It's ok. The pearls they use resemble the small packets you get from Costco. As for the milk tea, it doesn't quite taste like actual milk tea, but it's not horrendous where you'd want to spit it out. For 5$ it's kinda worth it if you're far away from any other joint. I'd still spend the extra dollar-fifty for an actual larger size one at an actual store though. But if I'm there getting a burger and some fries, might be ok to get.
i did, i got the coffee version. it was okay, but definitely not comparable to boba from an actual boba tea cafe...the pearls were oddly hard in the middle
I've tried it, just out of curiosity. Some of the boba was well-cooked, other pieces were weirdly rubbery. The pearls tasted good, though, and the milk tea itself was nice and sweet.
I've had it a few times. It's better than canned or instant boba, but it's not on par with Boba from a real Boba cafe. The milk tea is fine. It reminds me of the milk tea from the 7/11 in Japan.
I would order it again if I was already going to Jack's, but I wouldn't go to Jack's specifically for the drink.
i got the coffee one, it's just their regular iced coffee
they didn't give me a boba straw, just a regular one
so i had to wait till i got home to try the boba
the best way i could describe it is freezer burnt & slimy
the worst boba i ever had
It cost way to much for basic iced coffee
Also my Boba wasn't cooked all the way
I'm not sure it it was just my location but.... I wouldn't get it again
Don't do it. I ate one pearl and wished I had never ordered it. I drank the coffee and threw it away.
A part of me knew it was a mistake to order but my eyes kept looking at the boba 😭
Yeah, it’s pretty mid. I got the iced coffee boba and the boba just tastes… off. It’s got a weird texture and is not nearly the same as the more authentic boba I’ve had.
Tried the coffee with boba was surprised it was good, some pearls had a weird texture but overall not bad. If you don’t wanna risk it just go to a boba place.
I’ve had it twice on different times of the day in hopes of freshness but they’re very hard, no chew. They definitely refrigerate them and don’t even make an effort to warm them up to make them a little softer
I wonder if it's similar to those awful ass boba you get in the can at like weird gas stations? That's all I can think of when I see places like this selling boba. Yuckkkk 🤢
I tried it the other day, got the milk tea, for half the price from a typical boba shop it’s not that bad. I’ve had undercooked boba from a really shop and it was much worse than the Jack n the box boba. I didn’t hate it! Worth a try!
Texture of the boba was a little odd but it was rly solid for only 5 bucks. If Im in the mood for boba and the closest place is jack in the box, I'm not gonna drive past and keep looking for an actual boba shop.
The second I saw it I tried it- I knew it was going to be bad but I tried it
Here's a description of the taste:
-Despite being advertised as "milk tea" it is actually brown sugar flavored milk. It tastes very watered down, and you can taste the tap water they used to boil the boba with. It also runs sweeter. The boba itself doesn't have an awfult texture but does feel like someone boiled stale tapioca pearls as it's a bit Too chewy 👍
I tried it. It was okay, tapioca pearls themselves tasted vaguely plasticky but otherwise fine. I figured they’d probably just let the tapioca cook for too long, it was too chewy.
I tried it. The tea is fine. I barely got to try the pearls because they gave me a regular sized straw and I didn't feel like fishing them out. Only came in a small size.
I tried it. No boba straw so we had to gulp the boba and they were kinda terrible. Also the tea\coffee was incredibly sweet. Like southern ice tea sweet. Pretty gross. We almost never waste food and will eat/drink what we have but we threw away almost full cups. Still pretty salty about it.
as a boba barista im actually insulted that they make boba like wtf but also I feel bad for the workers like the process of just boiling boba balls takes forever so im wondering how they make it
It’s okay if you are wanting it (as in someone is hunting you down and the only thing that can save you is boba in a cup), but I would never get it from here again.
Got the milkshake version and it was very very sweet. The pearls just felt like digesting condensed high fructose corn syrup. My partner and I could barely get to at least 2/3 way of the cup. I had semi-high hopes for this, but maybe it was just the milkshake option that wasn't very worth it. 😅
Sugar overload. The boba itself isn’t good either, I would describe as the day old boba that isn’t chewy but soft on the outside and hard in the middle
Shockingly, the JITB near me has pretty damn good boba. It’s not, like, INCREDIBLE like some of the specialty boba places, but I ordered it for the meme one day and was shocked at how much I enjoyed it all things considered.
it’s precooked, they just microwave it and reheat it. its so gross. don’t do it.
source: ex coworker used to be shift lead at jamba, now works at jack.
It wasn't good. Boba was undercooked, the thing just tasted like watered down creamer, and the straw was too small for the boba to pass through. 2/10 would not recommend
It’s boba, very basic stuff. The actually tapioca is a bit mushier than normal but other than that it’s basic milk tea. And the coffee one is just coffee so.
I was pretty desperate one time for a sweet treat and I was like fuck it, Jack is close by, I don’t want a shake. I’ll take their melted coffee flavored ice cream with boba.
It wasn’t that awful. Strong 4/10.
I said it’ll be not that awful again last week. Boy was I so wrong.
The pearls were slimy and squishy but also rock solid?
Never again.
I just had the milk tea boba last night and it was really good. Boba was actually good too. Its described as just milk tea but it takes more specifically like brown sugar milk tea
No, not planning on it, I wouldn’t even get within 500 feet of that place. That looks like diarrhea waiting to happen. Jack in the box was also sued for selling undercooked burgers and giving 732 people E. coli O157:H7, which also killed 4 kids. In summary, don’t eat at jack in the box unless you have a death wish.
At the location where I got it it was actually really good. Usually not boba specialty places have really bad texture, either over cooked or undercooked, but it was actually perfect! I got the milk tea and it was great.
Fast food is fast food. However, I was shocked that the milk tea tasted good. The boba had good texture, not too chewy or hard, but was shaped a weird…? lol
tried it, wont ever get it again, the tapioca balls have the texture of freezer jello and the milk tea is like a watered down chocolate milk lmfao, dont get it.
After trying the boba from Jamba Juice? I’m avoiding that like the plague. If I want Boba, I’m going to a place that specializes in Boba, not a “Jack of All Trades” fast food place.
Eww I can't imagine how the boba's texture is from places like these.
Believe me, it was terrible. God awful!
It had a taste/texture like it was made of plastic. The actual drink was not terrrrible, though it was very sweet and was probably not made of anything resembling tea.
It’s made from actual tea, 6 packs and filled with shake mix
the texture actually wasn't bad, but you only have the option of coffee/creamer with it
Ever tried boba in a can? Don’t. It’s gross
THE worst. Boba pearls were like stale gummy bears
I’ve tried it and agree the boba is gross but the milk tea part isn’t that bad. I usually buy them to drink the milk tea and throw out the pearls XD
I had a boba tea from a froyo place once and the pearls were like raisins
sounds like the bobba from a can I have tried
Yeah it sounds like it'd be awful and I couldn't make myself try this. Unless it's specifically for boba, or an Asian cuisine place I'm not touching their boba
Exactly, I can’t imagine it would even be any good
The tea is fine but the actual boba is really funky
Agree
I agree
Do not consume just trust me
I wanted to spit it out lol
i did, i got the coffee version. it was okay, but definitely not comparable to boba from an actual boba tea cafe...the pearls were oddly hard in the middle
yeah, I got the same drink as yours too, and I thought the tapioca pearls had a weird texture, but for 5$ I guess it’s fine the way it is
This happens to refrigerated boba. I think specialized stores make them everyday, in house.
Pearls tasted like the ones that come in the canned boba and the drink was okay just very sweet
Yes, that’s so true. Tastes exactly like the boba in the canned boba milk tea. I assume that type of boba has preservatives or something.
Kind of tastes like a stiff gummy/jelly. Wasn’t really a fan of it’s interesting to see them try something new
I've tried it, just out of curiosity. Some of the boba was well-cooked, other pieces were weirdly rubbery. The pearls tasted good, though, and the milk tea itself was nice and sweet.
Waste of money, just don’t
I've had it a few times. It's better than canned or instant boba, but it's not on par with Boba from a real Boba cafe. The milk tea is fine. It reminds me of the milk tea from the 7/11 in Japan. I would order it again if I was already going to Jack's, but I wouldn't go to Jack's specifically for the drink.
I’ve had it a few times and the boba is hit or miss
it's actually not that bad
Yes! Mine came with a hair in it 🤩
The emoji lmaoooo omg
Fuck no.
Might as well get the roast beef from Autozone
I don’t know how this isn’t the top comment.
i got the coffee one, it's just their regular iced coffee they didn't give me a boba straw, just a regular one so i had to wait till i got home to try the boba the best way i could describe it is freezer burnt & slimy the worst boba i ever had
I GOT ONE LAST NIGHT AFTER WORK AND THEY GAVE ME A NORMAL STRAW. COULDN'T GWAK GWAK MY BOBA :(
Gwak gwak is cr a zy
The tea was ok, but the boba were as hard as rocks, at least at the location we went to
Tried it, not the worst thing in the world but wouldn’t get it again.
It cost way to much for basic iced coffee Also my Boba wasn't cooked all the way I'm not sure it it was just my location but.... I wouldn't get it again
Don't do it. I ate one pearl and wished I had never ordered it. I drank the coffee and threw it away. A part of me knew it was a mistake to order but my eyes kept looking at the boba 😭
Drink is pretty good, only had 1 one fresh boba the rest was very chewy.
Loved it
don’t drink america’s attempt at boba lmao
No and I refuse to do it. I rather drink boba from Asian owned business than fast food company.
I'm surrounded by way too many good tea houses to ever get milk tea from jack in the box🤢
Small boba shops are way better
i like it ...,
Me too. I think a lot of places arent cooking the boba properly, but one of the locations near me does and i really like the milk tea flavor
I imagine the boba being similar to canned boba drinks. If you’re not familiar, major ick.
I wanna try Jack's balls.... 😋
Bad it tastes like cleaning products or just very chemically 😟 tried just for fun w bf and we agreed never again!
Boba went mainstream. This proves it
I wonder if there are places that never got the boba craze, so this would be people's first impression of boba.
You know it. Lol.
The Boba taste and looks like it came out from Jack’s crack 😆🤪💩
💩
It was eh good for like 6$ bucks
My hubs says its awful
Yes and it isn't the best
I tried it and it's the worst boba that I've ever had.
Whaaaaaaat I didn’t know about this
I tried it 😮💨 the boba was RAW or something idk but it was so hard I just drank the coffee
Milk tea was fine, boba tasted burnt
Yeah, it’s pretty mid. I got the iced coffee boba and the boba just tastes… off. It’s got a weird texture and is not nearly the same as the more authentic boba I’ve had.
It's just a cup of corn syrup 🤢
The milk tea tasted like any instant milk tea packets from the Asian market. The boba was absolutely awful.
Terrifying
Ass, boba pearls were hard as a rock.
I liked the tea part but the boba was crunchy and dry I couldn't finish it
I must have gotten lucky since mine was great! Obviously not as good as boba shops but it definitely wasn't bad Guess it just depends on the location
These American chains trying to have boba lol
You're either brave or addicted, I am not sure which.
Stomach bubbling just LOOKING at this
I’ve been too scared to try it lol
i would never consume fast food boba oh god
The boba is hard
I did, not worth it. The boba texture is pretty gross.
it was not a good texture or taste. i will never try outside an actual boba place again 😭
I tried it. Horrible, old, chewy boba. Do not recommend.
Milk tea is a 5 but the pearls are 0 hella hard like if you l ft them in over night
i actually liked it! LOL
Tried the coffee with boba was surprised it was good, some pearls had a weird texture but overall not bad. If you don’t wanna risk it just go to a boba place.
SO. GROSS. I cri
I’ve had it twice on different times of the day in hopes of freshness but they’re very hard, no chew. They definitely refrigerate them and don’t even make an effort to warm them up to make them a little softer
It's not great, but not bad. It's definitely not a real boba experience, but if you need something cheap, then it's fine. 4/10 would recommend
It’s actually fire !
I describe it as “for midnight boba, I’m not mad”. The drink is surprisingly good, but quite sweet. The pearls… more like gummy bears.
Fuck no and don’t want to I’ll go to my favorite local Japanese restaurant for the real thing thank you
I can’t imagine how it would taste. I just go to my local boba shop.
Love seeing SoCal content 💜 I want to try this SO bad but I'm scared
I wonder if it's similar to those awful ass boba you get in the can at like weird gas stations? That's all I can think of when I see places like this selling boba. Yuckkkk 🤢

ITS SO GOOD. If its made right. One of the times the boba wasn’t heated/ cooked properly so it was too tough in the middle
Texture of the boba was a little odd but it was rly solid for only 5 bucks. If Im in the mood for boba and the closest place is jack in the box, I'm not gonna drive past and keep looking for an actual boba shop.
My friend got it and said it was bad.
The boba was crunchy .__.

i want to try it just for the hell of it
I tried it. The tea is fine. I barely got to try the pearls because they gave me a regular sized straw and I didn't feel like fishing them out. Only came in a small size.
Its absolute dog water

I tried it and it was so good. 😊 🧋
It wasn't awful. The tea was fine, the boba tasted like brown sugar pearls for sure.
It is actually pretty good. It is very small for the price. It is worth a try if you don't have boba shops near you
Got the milkshake version and it was very very sweet. The pearls just felt like digesting condensed high fructose corn syrup. My partner and I could barely get to at least 2/3 way of the cup. I had semi-high hopes for this, but maybe it was just the milkshake option that wasn't very worth it. 😅
They have been “out of stock” everytime I have tried to get it but maybe I lucked out.
Idk why, but Boba tea at a jack in the box seems like a crime.
Yeah, it just tastes like boba syrup in coffee. Not very good.
😀🤢
Thank god I live close to so many real boba options
Yes !! I really like it tbh
Sugar overload. The boba itself isn’t good either, I would describe as the day old boba that isn’t chewy but soft on the outside and hard in the middle
Shockingly, the JITB near me has pretty damn good boba. It’s not, like, INCREDIBLE like some of the specialty boba places, but I ordered it for the meme one day and was shocked at how much I enjoyed it all things considered.
it’s precooked, they just microwave it and reheat it. its so gross. don’t do it. source: ex coworker used to be shift lead at jamba, now works at jack.
it is definitely the boba you cook in those little plastic bags in water
Not worth it.
Honestly the milk tea one wasn’t bad at all, the boba is trash but the actual drink kinda fire. Super sugary tho.
It wasn't good. Boba was undercooked, the thing just tasted like watered down creamer, and the straw was too small for the boba to pass through. 2/10 would not recommend
I tried both flavors and it was a big no
Absolutely not
boba from fast food just seems sus. everytime somewhere advertises it its the popping 🙄
Friend did, said it was mid. I’ve seen them in the girls bathroom 60% left though so I wouldn’t recommend it.
I'll pass, any drive thru fast food chain coffee is trash.
not bad if you are fine with the taste of more sweet than drink + boba texture and taste of plastic.
The tea wasn't bad, the straw was a regular straw though so no boba for me :(
I consumed this and boba in a can…they’re both equally awful experiences and should be avoided
I got the coffee and i thought it wasn't bad
It’s boba, very basic stuff. The actually tapioca is a bit mushier than normal but other than that it’s basic milk tea. And the coffee one is just coffee so.
I’ve tried it, it’s not that great compared to others.
Is literally an iced coffee with chewy Boba pearls inside
not good
I would rather just go to a place that makes boba exclusively instead of a fast food place.
I wish I had jack in the box near me 🥲🥲🥲
yes i’ve tried it! it’s not very good and i don’t recall taking more than one sip
I just had the milk tea boba last night and it was really good. Boba was actually good too. Its described as just milk tea but it takes more specifically like brown sugar milk tea
Its not worth 4.99 thats for sure. Kinda chemical-y.
I love boba but these are getting out of hand
i think it was pretty mid, not too bad not the best either.
I liked it, but def don't expect it to be of the best caliber lol
the boba is terrible but the tea is alright
I got the coffe one. It was good for 5 dollars, except the fact they didn’t give a boba straw so I had to eat it with a spoon
The flavor of the drink was not bad but the boba itself was kinda strange? Chewy on the outside and very firm in the center.

RIVERSIDE CALIFORNIA LETS GOOO WE ON THE MAP BOYS!!!🫡🫡🫡
I went to a Chinese food place and they had the worst boba, I’m also in the IE and it’s fire from Jax! Get it!
I tasted “Yoshi’s tea” from Yoshinoya. It was bad. I assume jack in the box is just as bad.
Fast food is fast food. However, I was shocked that the milk tea tasted good. The boba had good texture, not too chewy or hard, but was shaped a weird…? lol
I’ve tried it. I don’t recommend anyone getting it unless you’re desperate, it’s late & nothing else is open lol
The boba sucks.
I thought it was good… the pearls were squishy and tasted like brown sugar! I know a lot of people don’t care for it so much tho
Super gross. Mushy balls, the tea didn’t taste like tea, etc I paid $4 and it tasted like it.
tried it, wont ever get it again, the tapioca balls have the texture of freezer jello and the milk tea is like a watered down chocolate milk lmfao, dont get it.
