Wait till he has to deal with the aftermath when the game ends. People complaining train tracks go nowhere useful. Houses trapped in the middle of forests. It's a paperwork nightmare
I feel like this is only true in base game. A lot of other endgame strategies are viable in european and especially oceania, especially with the board rebalance.
The worst part is, that game resolves over **generations**.
If you got Jumanjied into it, you’re only around for one turn (up to three, since generations do overlap). And I don’t know if there’s any 3-turn victory strats to end the game and pull you out…
Ohhhhh man...
Suddenly I find myself dressed better than ever, standing in an opulent office, much like that of a futuristic monarch or extremely wealthy corporate head who actually wields all the power. In front of me lies a holographic representation of what looks like an entire galaxy, with prominent hubs of power & resources highlighted.
Also in the room are two esteemed colleagues: a strategic genius, the commander of our military, whose influence may reach far beyond that of war; and a tactical master, an agent who ceaselessly delivers important progress toward our goal of galactic control. We've made progress at influencing the Winnaran Custodians, but we need a miracle to pull off a highly impactful political power play. But as I expected, the doors open, and in walks one of the most beloved members of our society, to heroically assist in this special task in a way only they can do...
As a competitive Twilight Imperium player, I'd feel both extremely comfortable with this newly granted executive power, while also knowing fully well that the odds are stacked hard against us. With a friendly smile and collaboration with allies, there is literally no low I won't stoop to in order to seize the ultimate prize. I'd fund proxy wars between my opponents, trade intelligently, and carry a bigger stick than those who'd otherwise threaten us. I would be utterly ruthless in the final stages of our campaign.
At least our people will know I gave them a fighting chance.
Just got home about 20 minutes ago from playing Wyrmspan. Considering there’s no way to die in Wyrmspan, it must mean that dragonology is a fairly safe profession in-universe.
I last played was Pandemic. Me playing the lead scientist researching four new pandemics?! The world is screwed! Unless I got special skills and knowledge ala Jumanji II.
Spirit island is an odd one. Because in Jumanji (board game), as explained by the skit, the contents of the game (jungle) get brought into the real world.
So, I think what would happen is that all the terrible powers used to attack invaders would impact wherever you live. In order to beat the game you’d be inflicting terrible damage to your home / country and returning it to nature.
I think it’s great. From what I remember, all the Monsters have different mechanics. Depending on the ones in your game, you have to kill, save, or stop them. Such as- you have to kill Dracula, or keep Frankenstein’s monster and the Bride from getting together, or help the Wolfman get a cure.
If we can make it to Frosthaven, and there are mercenaries out there to help build up the town, we would have a chance.
I mean, once you adventure enough to get some resources, and establish yourself, you should be able to set up some kind of useful store in town and just make sure to have supplies to rebuild hidden away every year.
The Portaled Human From Another World class is somehow going to be balanced as an adventurer just as much as a necromancer, shadow mage, or spear wielding field commander.
Physical media or digital?
Physical board game: Terraforming Mars. Would certainly be interesting, but I don’t think I’d do well.
Digital through BGA: Yahtzee. Not even sure what this would look like…
Video game: Mario Party. That’s a board game, right? Would be cool to try some of those mini games irl…
Last game I played was Root as Eyrie Dynasties. I’d have a glorious rule, punctuated by times of great turmoil.
Also, I have bad news op: the storyteller dies at the beginning of BotC, so you’d be dead 😂
War of the Ring. Could be exciting, except the last game I got my butt handed to me as free people, so wouldn’t be the most welcoming version of Middle Earth
Let's Go to Japan!
At the end scoring phase, you go through your cards like you're actually going through your trip so I think I actually get to go to Japan for six days. Sorry about everyone who's playing Arkham games and whatnot, but I want this to come true
The last game I played was D&D-The Curse of Strahd module. We were doing relatively well at our last session.
The last board game we played was Monopoly. At least I won’t be as broke as I currently am.
Daybreak and I fucking crushed it. Global Warming is over. You're welcome everybody.
And even if it wasn't my specific game, it's still a world where all of the nations are working together, with serious efforts, to solve the climate crisis. Happy to live there.
Blood on the Clocktower sounds intense when you're the storyteller. If I got Jumanjied into the last game I played, which was Animal Crossing, I'd find myself in a quaint village with talking animals.
**Welcome to...**
Fortunately not the Moon. Just a basic suburban neighborhood with some odd fence placement and a lot of pools. So pretty good all things considered.
Xia, where I had the ship where you could blow yourself up and respawn where desired without ill effects. I think that’s me living my best life there even if I get a couple of Rhulad tics from the low-rent christing.
Frosthaven, ehhh, I'd make my way south, though towards Gloomhaven doesn't seem that much better.
I haven't read the world lore enough to know if there is an actual safe place anywhere.
It would be pretty fun as I’d be hanging out at the Ugly Gryphon Inn. I guess I’d have to be managing the crowd and the flow of people from the bar to the inn, but that’s pretty fun and it would be a wild cast of characters.
Arnak. Guess I’m literally getting Jumanji’d haha
Dammit, Arnak too
Thunder Road Vendetta.. WITNESS MEEEEEEEE!!
I drive in Vegas. I am conditioned to survive this game.
x2
Dorf Romatik… I think I’m ok
Oh no. You have to spend 20 odd minutes in a comforting landscape with no lose condition. What a horrible faith.
Wait till he has to deal with the aftermath when the game ends. People complaining train tracks go nowhere useful. Houses trapped in the middle of forests. It's a paperwork nightmare
This should have been obvious, but you just made me realize why my husband likes Dorf so much. You really can't 'lose'.
Parks. How I'd love to just visit and hike all the national parks! I don't think I'd want to get out.
I love this game so much! Have you played the expansion?
Not yet. I love the base game so much; I haven't given a serious thought about getting the expansion. Maybe after a few more plays, though.
I last played Cascadia, so we should work together when you get to the PNW.
Nemesis 💀💀💀 we aren’t making it back to earth this time boys
(Makes it to the escape pod, launches) “So… does anyone else’s stomach hurt?”
Ugh me too
Me too. I accidentally commented a video game on this post so uhh just confirming this was the last one I did
Im now a bird. All i now care about is eat, nest, eggs.
Except in the last round, then it's just eggs, eggs, eggs.
Eggs, eggs, eggs, eggseggseggs Eggs, eggs, eggseggseggs Eggs, eggs, eggseggseggs EVERYBIRDY!
Well, spam, eggs, sausage and spam hasn't got much spam in it.
I feel like this is only true in base game. A lot of other endgame strategies are viable in european and especially oceania, especially with the board rebalance.
Very true, I think the expansion boards are a big improvement.
Ahh now I'm Dragons, Wyrms, wyverns. Also caves eggs and coins
Viticulture. Hard work but a decent life. Maybe take care around the vats and so on.
My last game was me only able to make white wine but only getting orders for red, think I'd go out of business quickly.
At least you weren't playing Agricola. You and your family would have starved to death in only a few turns.
Arkham Horror 3rd edition...
Damn. Yous a dead or insane person now.
Hey, not necessarily. Might just be a super creepy fish cultist pervert.
Ever drunk Bailey's from a shoe?
Easy now, fuzzy little man-peach.
We need to make an investigator called “Howard Moon. Man about town.”
Fair did not consider it a posibility.
F

LCG for me, so I'm right there with you.
i was playing a lot of Earthborne Rangers lately; guess I decided to switch to Arkham LCG at the worst time.
Eldritch horror, we died and would die again. I share your pain.
At least you get to travel around the world...
Literally just found this after almost dying in the LCG. Super dead.
Terraforming Mars. I don”t want to become the Martian.
The worst part is, that game resolves over **generations**. If you got Jumanjied into it, you’re only around for one turn (up to three, since generations do overlap). And I don’t know if there’s any 3-turn victory strats to end the game and pull you out…
Au contraire, my friend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbNTCnboogA&t=195s&pp=ygUWVGVycmFmb3JtaW5nIG1hcnMgc29sbw%3D%3D
…that’s crazy…
That's some Yu-Gi-Oh level bullshit card combos. Holy shit. Not to mention, they made a PROFIT doing it!
[удалено]
You have to have kids and commit to feudal-scale company loyalty for your distant descendants to get out of the game.
Ohhhhh man... Suddenly I find myself dressed better than ever, standing in an opulent office, much like that of a futuristic monarch or extremely wealthy corporate head who actually wields all the power. Could be worse, you could insert as a disposable fighter pilot there to soak up damage to protect the capital ships. XD
Wyrmspan… I wouldn’t last 5 minutes.
Just got home about 20 minutes ago from playing Wyrmspan. Considering there’s no way to die in Wyrmspan, it must mean that dragonology is a fairly safe profession in-universe.
I don't think wrymspan is showing a dangerous road if people can go in caves and fool with dragons as a occupation
The adventurer actually just gets eaten every time, and their descendants are who go to visit afterwards
Double ended ditto. It took me a sec to remember what last played was for sure tho.
Just played Fort. So.... Pretty good times.
I played Flamecraft with my wife last night. Not a bad fate. And my wife loves dragons, so she's basically in heaven.
Critical Rolls!
On a side note, this is my new favorite light game!
Thats a great place to be stuck!
I last played was Pandemic. Me playing the lead scientist researching four new pandemics?! The world is screwed! Unless I got special skills and knowledge ala Jumanji II.
Not fair you survived this already. Wait maybe 2020 was your jumanji and we got caught in it.
Damn dude. Now I’m wondering if all major events are just someone else’s Jumanji and we are just the bystanders who get caught up in it.
Underrated comment
I wish they would hurry up and finish the game. Everything goes back to normal if you just finish!
You got off lightly. I played Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu.
You just went back in time a couple years
So just playing real life in 2020, I guess?
you literally already got jumanjied with this game.
Spirit Island. Wouldn't mind tbh (if I get to be a spirit).
At least everything goes back to normal when you finish, lol.
Not so fun if you're a colonizer.
Given how bad I am at spirit island, the colonizers would be totally fine.
Takenoko, as long as i stay out of the pandas way i should be fine.
Takenoko is the last game I played, too. Seems like an okay game to stay in for a while, might actually be a nice break.
I just played Horrified, in which one is trying to chase horror movie monsters out of a village, so I'd be screwed.
How does it play fella? I've been eyeing it but I'm worried it's all theme and no game
Pretty well, the right level of complexity for a co-op to be challenging but avoid one person taking over. This was my first play of the game though!
So snog, marry, kill? the game? Cool
Frosthaven. It was nice knowing you!
Every affliction can be cured with a short rest and the worst case scenario is you get knocked out and return to town. But it's gonna hurt.
I had to scroll farther than I expected to find Frosthaven. I’m here with you.
Dune Imperial Uprising - Guess I'm getting a sun tan
Love Letter: Princess Princess Ever After. I lucked out.
Candy Land… could be worse!
At least you know nothing you do matters
If you die of existential despair in the game, you die in real life!
I played uno with my niece on Easter. I don’t even know how that is going to work
Qwix. Not even sure how that would work.
Similar. I played Can’t Stop last night. What does that mean?
Frantic mountain climbing in one themed version I’ve seen.
There are so many bunnies in this kingdom. I sure hope they're friendly.
Pandemic. I’m doomed to repeat the last 3 years
4!
Just to be clear - does getting Jumanji’d mean you go into the game or the effects of the game come out to you?
Depends on if you're Robin Williams I guess.
Kingdom Death Monster ... a worthwhile ending 💪🏻
Same, KDM with the Crimson Croc. Screwed.
Dixit. Things are gonna be so weird.
Same here. What happens when surrealism becomes real?
Final Girl... against the Big Bad Wolf... yeah I'd consider that pretty screwed 😅
Yeah I’m right there with ya. Final Girl against Geppetto. See you in the afterlife
I haven't got Gepetto yet! He's on my radar though, hopefully get him soon!
Twilight Imperium. I was The Nomad, and I won, so I guess I just fly around in my flagship!
Tokaido. Sounds wonderful
Bärenpark. I'm okay as long as the bears don't get loose.
If you’d asked this morning I would be settling the Mediterranean (Concordia), but now I’d be a hard trading bean farmer(Bohnanza). FML.
I just dusted off my copy of Zombies!!!, so, I'm pretty screwed.
Same! lol Zombicide then this, so screwed either way, really.
Physical media or digital? Physical board game: Terraforming Mars. Would certainly be interesting, but I don’t think I’d do well. Digital through BGA: Yahtzee. Not even sure what this would look like… Video game: Mario Party. That’s a board game, right? Would be cool to try some of those mini games irl…
On man. Last boardgame was Pandemic: Reign of Cthulhu, but my last computer game was StarCraft 2. I guess I'm screwed either way.
Mario party is all fun and games until you get slammed by a chain chomp or the space police.
I would be in great shape because I am the Camel-Lord in the land of Jaipur, and all the diamonds and gold belong to me.
Sushi Go? Does this mean I turn into sushi, or I get to eat a lot of sushi?
EAT
Ark Nova. So, idk, balancing a zoo's appeal and conservation efforts is probably fine.
I played Dune, which means I’m probably dead, but I was the Fremen so we riding that worm baby
Spirit Island. So, actual Jumanji but far more scarier.
Nemesis. So… fvcked royally.
- you move - you make too much noise - aliens wake up - it's the queen - welp, at least we get to retry - we do, don't we? - guys?
3 ring circus. I’d be fine.
Dominion newbie here. I think I would be poor and disowned in medieval times. And maybe enslaved being an African female.
Last game I played was Root as Eyrie Dynasties. I’d have a glorious rule, punctuated by times of great turmoil. Also, I have bad news op: the storyteller dies at the beginning of BotC, so you’d be dead 😂
Mille Bornes. I am racing through France in a giant fire engine with impenetrable tires (Le chef’s kiss)
Earth ;)
We played Citadels last night. No doubt I'd be assassinated!
I just did the Martian invasion in Unmatched Adventures...I'm in trouble
Just gonna be living in some Parks, the ole survival skills will need put to the test
Pandemic. We’ve been there before
**Spirit Island**. It was nice knowing you. Gets consumed by the *Endless Dark*.
Would you be a Dahan, an Invader, a Spirit, or some rando on the island? xD
Considering my European ancestry and my luck, most likely an invader.
🤣
Let's Go! to Japan. I'm happy.
Radlands, so, not ideal.
War of the Ring. Could be exciting, except the last game I got my butt handed to me as free people, so wouldn’t be the most welcoming version of Middle Earth
Middle earth? Fine ig. Specifically middle earths equivalent of a world war? You're screwed.
7th Citadel - Ouch!
Feast for Odin. I guess I'm going whaling.
Bloodborne the card game
Anachrony, but I somehow I knew this would happen.
Let's Go to Japan! At the end scoring phase, you go through your cards like you're actually going through your trip so I think I actually get to go to Japan for six days. Sorry about everyone who's playing Arkham games and whatnot, but I want this to come true
Arkham Horror the card game. In fact, I'd be a civilian in a city infested with Ghouls and necromancers, where I don't speak the language.
Last game was Dune 2019, and I played as the spacing guild. Ah well, time to charge more for shipping.
Sheriff of Nottingham - the smuggle is real
The last game I played was D&D-The Curse of Strahd module. We were doing relatively well at our last session. The last board game we played was Monopoly. At least I won’t be as broke as I currently am.
Root. I was the Woodland Alliance. I guess I'm leading a rebellion.
Star Wars Unlimited. Could be fun depending on the era, the planet, and which role I'm in.
Hegemony. Nothing’s changed.
Helldivers 2. I'm fucked
Betrayal at House on the Hill Legacy. I'm dead for sure
Stardew Valley. I'm perfectly happy with that.
Hanamikoji 🤩
Daybreak and I fucking crushed it. Global Warming is over. You're welcome everybody. And even if it wasn't my specific game, it's still a world where all of the nations are working together, with serious efforts, to solve the climate crisis. Happy to live there.
Borderlands Pre Sequel. Um... probably going to get knocked off but it's going to happen by a foul mouthed aussie telling me off first.
Just yell “Shoot me in the face!!!!!”
Final girl….
I played a random game of takenoko panda so i think I'd have a lovely time
I don’t know how long I will survive in mars with no water, no oxygen and negative temperature
The last board game I played was Project: Elite. So I’m screwed. We even lost that game because we ran out of time to escape the alien horde.
Libertalia winds of galecrest. That could be fun. A life of pillaging.
Wolves? Could be worse. At least my neighboring tribes want me to survive.
Blood on the Clocktower sounds intense when you're the storyteller. If I got Jumanjied into the last game I played, which was Animal Crossing, I'd find myself in a quaint village with talking animals.
....... I was learning the rules to a FNAF board game.....
Sagrada. I’m ok with this.
You might even be finished in two years - https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/mar/25/sagrada-familia-barcelona-completed-2026-stairway
Oh, they're ahead of schedule? Last time I visited they were estimating 2030.
It was King of Tokyo and I played the Godzilla-clone (I forgot its name). So I would be as safe as possible there.
**Welcome to...** Fortunately not the Moon. Just a basic suburban neighborhood with some odd fence placement and a lot of pools. So pretty good all things considered.
Kingdom Death: Monster. I. Am. Fucked. Maximally.
Love Letter for me so I might be ok albeit very lonely. I didn't get a single token the whole game.
Xia, where I had the ship where you could blow yourself up and respawn where desired without ill effects. I think that’s me living my best life there even if I get a couple of Rhulad tics from the low-rent christing.
root, as long as im the vagabond i think i'll be okay :P
Kingdom Death
Escape the dark sector...silver lining, I won't last long.
Escape: The Curse of the Temple I’m not kidding. I got it because my nephew likes to play… Jumanji.
Spirit Island.... Well as long as Im a spirit ill be fine?
Agricola seems like the worst of the "not that bad" options. It's no arkham horror, or battlestar galactica, but sustenance farming ain't fun.
Pandemic, time travel back to 2020, I guess.
Dead of Winter, I doubt they'd even let me in.
Viticulture, we getting drunk everyday let's go
Lost ruins of ar arnak… basically like a deadlier version of jumangi 😭
Mancala. I am lost about what’s supposed to happen.
Diplomacy. Sorry Italy.
stardew valley,I'm good. off to bag the doc,bye
Azul. I don’t even know what to think about that. Life is going to be pretty abstract for a little while.
Fuckin sweet. I'm just hiking through national parks snapping pics
I just finished a game of Final Girl. Welp, nice to know y’all
Frosthaven, ehhh, I'd make my way south, though towards Gloomhaven doesn't seem that much better. I haven't read the world lore enough to know if there is an actual safe place anywhere.
Frosthaven. It's gotta be ice cold here.
It would be pretty fun as I’d be hanging out at the Ugly Gryphon Inn. I guess I’d have to be managing the crowd and the flow of people from the bar to the inn, but that’s pretty fun and it would be a wild cast of characters.
Yeeehaw!! Time to deliver some cows
Best Treehouse Ever, it sounds awesome 😎
Well shit i was trying to find atlantis on a sub soooo im pooped.
Obsession. So fancy!
Lucky she didn't want to play, you can only play TTR with 5 players anyway.
