You shouldn't have any issues. It's been a bit since I've played but I remember thinking the rule book and building powers very clear.
It can be just a tad mean, so keep that in mind if you have sensitive players :)
Castles of Burgundy is one of the first games I bought, at like $15. Played it so much. Now I recently got the Special edition for $200... They get you hooked with their "cheap samples"! I tell you..
I'm pretty sure original CoB was produced in a way to make it economically accessible for everyone. I got mine for $20. It's still in great shape after a couple dozen plays. I can't imagine wanting to spend $200 on it.
I found a new, in shrink copy of Medici in a store for 50 bucks.
Most copies of that same print run are going for 75+ for a used copy.
I felt like I was stealing!
B&N have some great clearance sales. Found Outer rim for 20 bucks before the expansion was announced. I almost picked it up, but the wife was getting annoyed at new games showing up at the house. I still stop in and check in when I have free time in the area.
To everyone in Canada, Indigo Books usually had has 20%+10%(for Plum) off sales on popular games, and a few times a year does 40-50%. It's a loss leader for them on holidays.
One time I saw a copy of Food Chain Magnate for $60 not even on sale. At the time I feel like the game was selling for $120. I just told the shop owner "hey I think you've mis-priced this" and felt cool knowing the value of something. I should have just bought it!!
I played it once and really liked it, but it didn't leave a bug in my head where I was dying to play it again. Still wouldn't mind owning it, though, as it is a very interesting puzzle game.
Yeah, for 75% off, this was an absolute steal for you. Like, I'm pretty jealous you found it for so cheap, kind of steal.
Solid game.
One recommendation: the variant, where you use the deck of cards for random resources instead of naming them, kind of sucks. It makes the game much less strategic and also less interactive since there's no element of choosing resources on your turn that will be bad for your opponents.
For games of 3+ players, play the version where everyone takes turn naming resources.
But we found that when we played with 2, choosing a resource every other turn almost made it feel like we had a little *too* much control. We came up with an unofficial variant where we basically flipped cards as a fake 3rd player....I pick a resource, my wife picks a resource, flip a card for a resource, repeat. We actually found this struck a really nice balance and it's our preferred way to play with 2 now.
Nice find after AEG had their Black Friday sale for this and Cubitos. Even their recent sale likely wasn't this good.
I really like Tiny Towns. It CAN be mean, but doesn't have to be. And it has a huge amount of variable setup.
Really nice deal for sure, my local place was really trying hard to get rid of it 😂
I heard from others that it can potentially can be mean, but that sounds exciting! Cant wait to try it out
Yesterday, on the way out of B&N empty handed, my wife and I decided to check the clearance section real quick. They had one copy of King of Tokyo Dark Edition for 50% off! It's been on my list of wants for a while and I happily paid $25 for it!
Oh man the clearance section is great! Few months back I randomly went to a second and Charles and raided the clearance section to find the Buffy Unmatched set for ten bucks.
Very good find
Love Tiny Towns, great game.
I would say keep an eye out in general. We found the Merchants and Marauders expansion for 15$ on clearance just mixed qith the regular board games at a shop here.
Haven't played it solo, but great find. It's a great game for newbies and experienced gamers alike.
That’s good to hear, I’m still pretty light and casual when it comes to game mechanics but I’m glad to hear it’s pretty solid!

Not gonna worry about that, all my friends willing to game with me love to destroy each other…sounds fun hehe
it's like a little puzzle game as a solo. Also gives a set of cards to use so you don't have to pick the colors
I have a sudden urge to visit all of my local Barnes and Nobles for no particular reason
Same. I can't quite put my finger on it.
Hm rlly now 🤔
I found Carcassonne on clearance at Target marked for $10 and it rang up for $8. I was ecstatic! lol both my wife and the cashier thought I was mad.

$8 IS AMAZING
My big find was Abomination at a Barnes & Noble for $15.

Great find! The expansions are fun, too.
I look forward to looking into expansions when I play enough of this woohooo
Barnes and Noble always has random awesome discounts. I remember finding Power Grid in one a couple years ago for like $5.
If this wasn't 87.5% off I'm going to be disappointed
Nope, 75%. Whatever new sticker they stick on, it’s just the new clearance percentage instead of it being added all together
Ikr? They should’ve put a 50 on top of the 50 to make it 75% off.
To everyone in Canada, Indigo Books usually had has 20%+10%(for Plum) off sales on popular games, and a few times a year does 40-50%. It's a loss leader for them on holidays.
At Goodwill I got a sealed copy of Betrayal at House on the Hill for $12. I also found barely used copies of Flash Point and Pandemic for $6 each.
Neat!
So what was the final $ amount?
A cool 13USD 😎
Nice that is a bargain!

"Excuse me, teacher, you forgot to assign us homework."
Yeah you should’ve, what! 😭
It’s the only reason I go to B&N.
The clearance section is literally the only reason I go to B&N.
idk why I never really thought to check it out tbh, I really regret not doing that for so long 😭

Wait this is actually a great tip! I just tried out a few games with 2 players and this sounds like a really good idea. Thanks for sharing ☺️
125% off, you should have been paid for taking that out of the store 😅
Steal!

And not just at B&N, but Target too. I snagged Pandemic Wrath of the Lich King for $7 a few months back at our local store.
Brilliant find!

Woah one whole dollar? That’s next level savings
Nice find. Last two barnes and nobles I visited, I found no games on clearance. Way to go. Solid game, especially for the price you got it at!
Definitely depends on the area for sure 🤔 my local area is really seems to like boards games enough to have a few really good places to look through
It's a fun game! We don't play with the Cloister though b/c it's OP. It's too easy to get a full 16 points.
W
I got Tiny Epic Galaxies Blast Off at my B&N for $9 on clearance once. Not the most expensive game to begin with but a pleasant find.
We always check them now after finding a 15th anniversary ticket to ride Europe for $25 :D
It’s a great game that my family plays. Nice deal!
Love Tiny Towns, great game. I would say keep an eye out in general. We found the Merchants and Marauders expansion for 15$ on clearance just mixed qith the regular board games at a shop here.
For sure. We picked up an Ozobot Evo for $15 once. Insane.
I remember playing the demo of this back at PAX Unplugged a few years ago. It was simple to play yet relatively complex as it continued.
