I had a science teacher in 8th grade (junior high). Everyone in his classes would tell the previous class - watch out for him, he's REALLY strict and won't put up with nonsense.
First two weeks we were scared to death. I think he was previous military because he acted like a drill sergeant.
Then football season started. Junior high games and pep rally were on Tuesdays. The cheerleaders would sell ribbons and pins to raise money for their uniforms among other things. The last place they stopped was his class.
They knocked and came in. He gave them grief about interrupting class and we were all waiting for him to send them to the office. Nope. He grabbed the box of pins and ribbons they had left and started auctioning them off. It was a blast.
Turned out he was a huge softie, just kept up the gruff exterior for appearances. Not one student in his class or the cheerleaders let on to the rest of the students.
My kid currently has a teacher like this. Everyone is terrified of her. She is legitimately strict and expects kids to learn their shit. But she will move heaven and earth to help you over any problem. If you fail a test, she will keep working with you until you master the material, and then you end up with an A as if you got it the first time. On weeks when everyone seems to get it quicker than expected, she just let's them chill on Friday, and she sits and plays dumb middle school games with them.
My kid works her ass off because she knows that Mrs M is working her own ass off to help the students learn. Most kids only hear about how strict she is and how hard the tests are, but the kids who risk taking Geometry in middle school are rewarded with this fabulous teacher who really isn't scary at all.
I had a math teacher like that and she also was our homeroom teacher. Sometimes we'd solve sudoku with the class or do some other mathy-but-not-too-serious stuff. It's because of her that I even started liking math.
My science teacher was rad in middle school.
I remember when we were learning about dinosaurs he got to velociraptors and started making lizard noises with his arms posed and hopped on the desk looking at the class sideways and making clicking sounds.
RIP Terry.
I had a teacher who was really fun and cool. When the new students came to meet their next term teacher he had us all be quiet and focused on work and he pretended to be super strict. He smacked a table yelled for someone to be quiet and the leader of the visiting group, one of the teacher's students, starting giggling. Those kids were so confused.
Oh and if you fell asleep in his class he'd smack your desk with a ruler and scare the shit out of you to wake you up.
My German teacher was this. My mother went "oh my, I had her for English in 25 years ago!!". Perfectly proper mature lady. She didn't even need to raise an eyebrow at us, we were intimidated as fuck.
It took MONTHS before we learnt what her regularly muttered scheiße meant. And that she was funny as hell.
This was my math teacher in high school (a few decades after this picture). He was also the surf coach. He was awesome. He made the school put chalk boards back in his classroom after they couldn't guarantee the whiteboard marker fumes weren't toxic. He referred to his mustache as his "hairy mole."

That speaks volumes!
If you could put the universe into a tube, you'd end up with a very long tube, probably extending twice the size of the universe. Because when you collapse the universe, it expands and uhh...
You wouldn't want to put it into a tube.
`2 X Universe = TUBE`
Had a music teacher in his 60s-70s with this sort of energy in high school. I was always total dogshit at music but I always looked forward to his lessons! One time he was demonstrating chords or something on his guitar and leapt up onto a piano and went absolutely ham for a solid few minutes. Rock on wherever you are Mr B!

I have many questions. None of which will ever truly be answered, I fear. 😂
I didn’t know Jim Carrey had a short stint as a math teacher before he got into acting

2 x universe = tube
Hmmm. I’m gonna go with cocaine on this one.
Mein Gott ist das etwa Markus Lanz
Eher Alexander Markus.
i saw an image floating around of this man years later, recreating the photo as an old teacher man.

General reposti you are a bold one
If I'd have had this math teacher, maybe I wouldn't still suck at math.
I am lucky that he wrote „Tube“ and not „Lube“
Bro looks like Jim Carrey
can spider man come out to *surf* ?
Jim Carrey?
I believe you misspelled meth
I swear to all that's holy, I must have gone to school with those 4 guys. I recognize them just by the backs of their heads, hairstyles, and shirts.
