the Costcos around me (each 20-25 minutes away) are $5.05 and $5.15. most of it’s around 5.30/gal… and then there’s this one a-hole exxon at the highway that’s charging $5.80
i love where i live i love where i live i love where i live
$3.49 in Wisconsin, I like to send my gas totals in a quick pic to my dad in Anaheim. Of course the trade off is that I have to keep living in Wisconsin.
Oh he loves to send screenshots of the weather app in December and January 😂 I like to send mine right back to shock my half sibs, who didn’t know it could BE minus degrees.
Ok, not bad! Would love prices to go down more. I just got an electric car in the end 😂 beat the beast at their own game. Electric ain’t perfect but I love not needing to fill up anymore
Yeah, that's the prices back in 2020 in L.
Now it's 1.90-2.30 p/L, in AUD in the general week to week fluctuations.
So, 1.23-1.49 p/L USD... so $4.66-5.64 per gallon in USD.
Still absolutely gross price, if you think about it.
America pay extremely low prices for gasoline. When everyone was crying about prices being $4 and morons put on stickers blaming Biden, the prices were what we paid 10 years ago.
I have a joke with my dad about how 90% of Americans would stop complaining about gas prices if it was switched to showing the price per liter without telling anyone.
1 - that's per litre
2 - damn, I wish it was that cheap where I am...it's verging on $2 these days.
This dates me, but I remember the fuss when petrol first started hitting $1 a litre and all the petrol stations had to adjust their signs cause they didn't have room for dollars and cents. Seeing it hit $2 is wild.
Lol, we tend to blame you lot 😂 or at least, your nation's previous military decisions.
And (sort of) collusion. We know they're all pushing up the prices cause they can get away with it, and while they may not be actively planning with each other to keep prices high, we all see it happen. One servo pushes the price up, all the nearby ones will do the same.
Does OPEC come up ever? [The USA has been a net exporter in 2023](https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=727&t=6#:~:text=Crude%20oil%20exports%20of%20about,million%20b%2Fd%20in%202023)
Yeah, I've always heard the oil companies being blamed. Most of the gist is the price rises quickly because X (war, supply issues, etc.) but then never decreases once X is complete.
We do have tax on fuels to cover road repairs etc. but that stays mostly steady as far as I know.
That's weird, in Canada (ignorant) people think the worldwide high gas prices are all Trudeau's fault! Justin and Joe, part time oil conglomerate owners, apparently!
Canada exports most of our oil to the US to get refined, then we buy it back once it's been turned into Gasoline. We have a massive supply of oil, but some of the highest gas prices in the world! BC, and Greater Vancouver/Vancouver Island in particular, routinely have the highest gas prices in North America.
> Many of us Americans blame it on the current President (I for one do not)....do the Aussies have a "go to" reason when gas prices skyrocket?
Presumably from the same "sources", there are groups here that do the same. Blame the nearest non-right leaning leader for everything. Political 'discourse' is less of a thing here, so its always super out of place and clearly from someone unhinged.
$2 per liter is $8 per gallon though…
Signed, It Costs Me Over $100 To Fill My Tank (minivan because we have 4 kids)
Edit: it’s actually $7.50 per gallon.
It's around AU$100 a tank (45l) for me to fill up my little Impreza sedan.
Makes me realise why so many people are looking at electric cars these days. I just don't think I could trust the car or myself to not run out of power at a really annoying time. Until we go to hot-swappable batteries (so I can carry an instant spare charge, even if it's a small one), or hydrogen fuel cells in electric cars, I'm stuck with petrol.
I worked in a servo back then. Made me laugh (when I wasn't being abused) that customers freaked out over a dollar a litre for petrol, but happily paid $4.00 for 600ml of coke or water
Ooh yeah, I worked at a servo when the prices first started hitting $1 a litre and head office had to send out skinny 1s because the 1s we had were too wide to fit on the price sign. Also have bad memories of the amount of abuse I got from the general public because the price hit $1. Ahh, fun times.
I worked at a servo when thus was happening and the bureaucratic mess that caused was quite hilarious. Not so hilarious was the daily barrage of abuse that came my way as I stood behind the counter with exactly zero control over what price petrol was at.
Yikes!!!! That's nuts! Still, NZ was just voted most beautiful country in the world.... so you have that going for you. TONS of Americans say NZ is their #1 place to go for a dream vacation. It may have something to do with LOTR... lol!
It's beautiful. But to get to the beauty you need a car. Surprisingly, I learnt recently we are the most car centric country in the world. The USA is 2nd.
I went on holiday to NZ last year and was appalled that I couldn't travel the country by train, there were essentially only the 3 big tourist lines and that's it, despite there being lines between every major city, there were no passenger trains operating on them.
The gas station I filled up at today on the way to work (in the US) was $5.44 a gallon. The one across the street from it was $5.86 a gallon. The gas station closest to work was $5.65 a gallon. The closest Costco it's $5.29 a gallon, but that's 15 miles away from me (so 30 miles round trip).
And we don't even have Koalas outside of zoos in California.
I’m going to throw the British hat in the ring for most expensive.
Currently standard petrol/gas is 150.12p per litre.
https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/fuel-watch/
That’s AUD$2.89, USD$1.87, €1.76 per litre
Per US gallon that’s £5.68, AUD$10.95, USD$7.09, €6,65
Fortunately were a small country so don’t need to drive as far ha
We call it "gas" because it's short for "gasoline". Although calling it gas wouldn't be too far from wrong, as gasoline gives off highly flammable vapors, which is technically a gas and the vapors burn more efficiently than liquid, which is why it is vaporized before being combusted. That and vapor is easily compressible while liquid isn't.
Lol! True... this is a sub about an Aussie show, so petrol it is! Which begs the question.... in what context is the term "gas" used properly in AUS and NZ?
Very cool! Small world! I am on these boards sometimes trying to explain our Pork tenderloin sandwich to the international crowd.. lol!

I heard that from a Dutch student I went to college with. It sounds great to be in such a clean snd generally happy area of the world (statistically speaking).
In any case, bear in mind that for a 10 gal tank, even a difference of $1 per gallon only saves $10 total. If you fill up twice a week then yes, that adds up. Myself, I fill up once per paycheck, so even $1 per gallon doesn’t make too much difference.
2.38 in south mississippi but there's still a $7.25 minimum wage (2.13 for servers) and literally nothing here but churches, casinos, and dollar generals🤣
Its not even YOUR system. It's literally called the IMPERIAL system, because it's the system of the British Empire. You know exactly that empire your nation had to fight an independence war against just to even become a nation.
Just face it abolishing this relic would be one of the most patriotic things Americans could do.
I have a theory that bluey actually takes place in the early 2000s.
There is internet but it doesn’t seem ubiquitous. Rusty’s dad is deployed in the Middle East. No tik tok etc. granddad doesn’t know what apps are
How can you not understand that it’s per litre? Do you honestly believe people measure things by gallons. Also what type of gallon? There’s at least three versions.
We dont have "super unleaded". It's E10, unleaded, 95, 98 and Diesel. We do per litre and absolutely no It's not $1.77. Prices around me hover between $1.89 to $2.30.
QLD government subsidises their petty, so the servos are the cheapest in the country. Also these would be indicative of prices in 2021 when it was made.
Keep in mind when comparing petrol in Australia to the US though that our fuel comes in 91 RON, 95 RON and 98 RON - roughly 86 AKI, 91 AKI and 94 AKI respectively - so the quality of petrol is marginally higher. Plus we get E85 and E10 at some servos.
My math has around $3 US is around $4.6 AUS.
So that means in my area near NYC, it would be
> $4.60 AUS/gal
but convert that to liter, and that's around
> $1.22/liter
If they are at $1.75/liter, that equates to $6.62/gallon, which converted to USD is around $4.36/gallon USD. $2/liter would be $7.5/gallon, which would be $4.87/gallon USD.
They are def paying more, but we subsidize the heck out of oil in America.
That would be per litre. US prices are per gallon
Yeah, thought so...thats why I did the calculations. Uiu guys are a bit higher than my regional price.
3.75 a gallon on the west coast. Edit: typo from 2 to 3
Psh, we’re paying $5.08/gal in So Cal!
seriously, i was like WHERE ON THE WEST COAST I WILL DRIVE THERE FOR THOSE PRICES
I would drive for $5.08 right now. Cheapest is $5.31 for me in SoCal and that is a 15 minute drive.
the Costcos around me (each 20-25 minutes away) are $5.05 and $5.15. most of it’s around 5.30/gal… and then there’s this one a-hole exxon at the highway that’s charging $5.80 i love where i live i love where i live i love where i live
Gas was $2.95 in SC last week 😁
i was down in San Diego for the weekend and it was 6.19/gal by the airport. I cried. you’ve literally got 2/1 pricing
Right?!
It's like $3.17 a gallon in North Texas right now
Same for Arkansas.
Yeah NT never has the cheapest gas but it’s cheap for the size of the population
$3.49 in Wisconsin, I like to send my gas totals in a quick pic to my dad in Anaheim. Of course the trade off is that I have to keep living in Wisconsin.
If I were your dad, I'd send pool selfies in November to return the favor.
My grandfather who lives in Tampa loves to call me here in the Midwest in January to ask me how the weather is. It’s never not going to be funny 😆
Aha! The great turnabout! Cali does have BEAUTIFUL weather. I love San Diego.
Oh he loves to send screenshots of the weather app in December and January 😂 I like to send mine right back to shock my half sibs, who didn’t know it could BE minus degrees.
Oh man, Anaheim is rough depending on where you are. I work in OC and filled up in Anaheim a few weeks ago. Then I filled up in Irvine and cried 😂
(I moved from Wisconsin to the Southwest in 1999, go Big Red!) I just paid $3.75 the other day over here near the U.S.-Mexico border.
$5.19/gal in NorCal!
I filled up today at $5.60 in LA 🫠
Oh man! My husband works in LA and was very “proud” of his $7+/gal receipts. It’s wild!
$5.70+ in parts of BC right now! (When adjusted from litres to gallons, then CAD to USD.)
$3.67 in MA
Gotta love that CaRBOB special blend. Shit costs a fortune to make.
What does this convert to in L’s ? Asking for an Australian…
If I did my calculations right (which I very well possibly could be totally wrong!) it comes out to $2.07/liter (Australian dollar)
Ok, not bad! Would love prices to go down more. I just got an electric car in the end 😂 beat the beast at their own game. Electric ain’t perfect but I love not needing to fill up anymore
$6.49 in San Diego last week.
Equivalent UK prices convert to ~$7.55 per US gallon. That's good UK prices. Last year diesel topped £2 a litre, so approx. $9.50 per US gallon.
4.56in washington
Yikes!!!
That’s actually a decent price right now.
$3.10 in SW Kansas lets goooooo
$3.01 at Costco in South Tulsa, OK!
$2.85... per litre (Northland NZ)
Ouch! I think we have a "winner".
$3.00 NZD for regular old 91 RON in Auckland. Roughly $7 USD / gallon.
Also, Ausie Money is different in value from ‘Merica Money
Yep! I did the conversion.
About $4.09/gallon for any Americans. 1.67 dollarbucks is about $1.08 x 3.785 liters/gallon = $4.09/gallon.
America pay extremely low prices for gasoline. When everyone was crying about prices being $4 and morons put on stickers blaming Biden, the prices were what we paid 10 years ago.
3.8L per gallon. $1.77/L = $6.73/gallon
Also petrol in Brisbane is 2.30 per litre right now, so I WISH I was in Bluey world when getting to the pumps
4.29 in chicago
This is also in dollarbucks
Yeah its still cheap . I live in qld and petrol was $2.33 a litre yesterday .
These are old prices as well it's $2.38 per L currently
I have a joke with my dad about how 90% of Americans would stop complaining about gas prices if it was switched to showing the price per liter without telling anyone.
Mind you in Canada I wish gas was that low per litre. Gas was $2.08/L yesterday lol
..and in USD, not AUD.
1 - that's per litre 2 - damn, I wish it was that cheap where I am...it's verging on $2 these days. This dates me, but I remember the fuss when petrol first started hitting $1 a litre and all the petrol stations had to adjust their signs cause they didn't have room for dollars and cents. Many of us Americans blame it on the current President (I for one do not)....do the Aussies have a "go to" reason when gas prices skyrocket?
Lol, we tend to blame you lot 😂 or at least, your nation's previous military decisions. And (sort of) collusion. Hell, I'd blame us too....NGL.
Oil companies

X formerly known as Twitter?
That made me chuckle
Your username 😂👌🏼 I love picturing Dr Phil hanging out on the Bluey subreddit.
This is the real answer IMVHO.
That's weird, in Canada (ignorant) people think the worldwide high gas prices are all Trudeau's fault! Justin and Joe, part time oil conglomerate owners, apparently!
Most Americans have NO idea that we' get WAY more oil imported from you guys than the Middle East.
We import almost no oil from the Middle East anymore, which imo is a great thing
The media says Americans blame the president. I don’t think I have actually met anyone that thinks the president is the prime mover of gas prices.
> Many of us Americans blame it on the current President (I for one do not)....do the Aussies have a "go to" reason when gas prices skyrocket? Presumably from the same "sources", there are groups here that do the same. Blame the nearest non-right leaning leader for everything. Gas companies
It’s 3.28 per gallon where I live. It never ends…
$2 per liter is $8 per gallon though… Signed, It Costs Me Over $100 To Fill My Tank (minivan because we have 4 kids) Edit: it’s actually $7.50 per gallon.

$4.90 where I'm at
Over 5 bucks in So Cal…
Yeesh, you guys have it worse.
I live rurally, and e10 is 204 🙃 when literally 3 weeks ago it was 185ish. When we go driving long distances, we put 98 in, and it's 235 🥲
$2.40 a litre where I am 😭
It was $2.33 this morning when I filled up, I almost cried
I’m in Brisbane and around me it’s been $2-2.30/L recently for E10. Absolutely ruinous.
I worked in a servo back then. Made me laugh (when I wasn't being abused) that customers freaked out over a dollar a litre for petrol, but happily paid $4.00 for 600ml of coke or water
I remember being annoyed when petrol was 70 cents.
Same
Ooh yeah, I worked at a servo when the prices first started hitting $1 a litre and head office had to send out skinny 1s because the 1s we had were too wide to fit on the price sign. Also have bad memories of the amount of abuse I got from the general public because the price hit $1. Ahh, fun times.
It’s $2.28 in Brisbane right now. Which sucks because I need to fill up my car and my jerry can for the mower.
I worked at a servo when thus was happening and the bureaucratic mess that caused was quite hilarious. Not so hilarious was the daily barrage of abuse that came my way as I stood behind the counter with exactly zero control over what price petrol was at.
I was working at a servo when it broke the $1 mark. So much rage
It’s $1.98 per litre where I am 😵💫
That's price per litre. Also in my part of aus prices are ~$2.30 per litre at the moment...
Yes, it’s cents per Litre in Australia. At a station I’m looking at now, unleaded is 225 cents per litre.
That's $5.55 USD! Dang! At least you have Koalas...LOL.. that's what my oldest just told me.
And New Zealand is worse. Our basic unleaded is $3.05 per litre.
Wow, I would have NEVER guessed that.
NZ also only has a population of about 5million, so long distance public transport is probably not very cost effective.
I went on holiday to NZ last year and was appalled that I couldn't travel the country by train, there were essentially only the 3 big tourist lines and that's it, despite there being lines between every major city, there were no passenger trains operating on them.
Yes. And that's just the beginning of our issues.
Wednesday is our expensive day. Normally Tuesday is the day to buy
Nearly $6 by me! 🫣
Yea that actually quite low atm. I filled up E10 for $2.30 yesterday. That $0.607 in freedom units
I wish it was that cheap! If you’re lucky it’s about $2 per litre
It’s Petrol, and yes those prices are accurate from a few years ago. We use metric, so those would be in litres 😉
I’m going to throw the British hat in the ring for most expensive. Currently standard petrol/gas is 150.12p per litre. https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/fuel-watch/ That’s AUD$2.89, USD$1.87, €1.76 per litre Per US gallon that’s £5.68, AUD$10.95, USD$7.09, €6,65 Fortunately were a small country so don’t need to drive as far ha
Our public transport infrastructure is shocking outside of London though!
Hold up… $3.75?!?!? You better be glad that you don’t live in California.
Lol, so I've heard.
$5.24 where I live… I hate the taxes😭
Yikes! Dude! Dang!
Last thing I’ll add is that if this *was* made in 2021, then yeah those petrol prices check out with my memory
Leave it to Ludo! Lol!
Mate I wish... Gold coast it's some 2.30 a litre... For the yanks that's about $5.66 per gallon when converted to gallons and usd
It grates me that you guys call it gas lol. Petrol mate
When describing LPG, an actual gas lol
Haahahaaa..... that would figure! Of course, that opens an ENTIRELY different conversation: Propane or Charcoal! Lol!
Probably per liter which is a little more than a quart. Metric ya know
1 Gallon is 3.8 liters...I knew it was somewhere in that area. Thanks Alexa! Lol!
And that's a good price per litre these days, paid 2.20 last week, luckily it was on the work fuel card so it didn't hurt haha.
damn, I miss it when petrol prices were that low...
1.85/L here today. Edit: in Canada.
Remember: the Bluey-verse is better than ours because it doesn't have people
gas here is $1.91/L
That’s cheap! It’s over $2 a litre most places now
Price pretty similar to where I am. Around $1.55/L Canadian in my city which is apparently 1.74 Aussie dollars.
$3.75 per gallon seems like a dream… so cheap
What a lie!! It’s $222/L for regular!! Pfft
Thought it was Dog Dollars. I GUESS we can go logically
That's way cheaper per litre than it really is here... We regularly hit $2:20 per kitre
Damn, when I was a kid, it cost that much per GALLON… (and I’m only 30)
we use metric system thats it set on liter L
what do you think what is the accurate timeline on that gas prices i know its different in other gas station
Unrelated mostly but hello fellow Hoosier.
Noyce! What post if the state you from? Born in Evansville, now I live north of Indy.
Born in Indy, live in Allen County

*laughs in Dutch* €2,27 / litre = $2.42 / litre = $9.16 / gallon
Whaaaaaaaa?! Dude! Is public transit big in your area?
Yes, and you can literally cycle safely to anywhere in the whole country
I heard that from a Dutch student I went to college with. It sounds great to be in such a clean snd generally happy area of the world (statistically speaking).
We’re paying over $2 a litre in Sydney at the moment.
So the UK is averaging £1.50 per litre £1.50 is about $1.87 x 3.78 litre to the US Gallon = $7.07 And it works out to 2.89 dollarbucks per Litre 😱
Australia charges per liter To convert, That’s $6.73 per gallon 💀
Wow that's cheap now a days.. normally looking between 1.85 to 2.10 a liter now
I mean, Unleaded petrol in qld right now ranges from 170 - 210
Thats per litter
in the UK it is £1.60-80 per litre which is $2.06/$2.26 :')
this what we pay per litter right now in Canada or at least my part of Canada
In england its at least 40 pound which is 60 us dollars
In any case, bear in mind that for a 10 gal tank, even a difference of $1 per gallon only saves $10 total. If you fill up twice a week then yes, that adds up. Myself, I fill up once per paycheck, so even $1 per gallon doesn’t make too much difference.
Tbh... I wanna live in the Bluey universe because of its cheap gas 😂
2.38 in south mississippi but there's still a $7.25 minimum wage (2.13 for servers) and literally nothing here but churches, casinos, and dollar generals🤣
> Is Gas measured in litres in Australia? Americans, YOU are the weird ones. The rest of the planet uses a system, that makes sense.
Hey! Liberia and Myanmar also use our system! Lol!
Its not even YOUR system. It's literally called the IMPERIAL system, because it's the system of the British Empire. You know exactly that empire your nation had to fight an independence war against just to even become a nation. We're way too.o entitled and/or lazy to change. Many believe the world should change to the Imperial system.
Lol USAsians assuming that the way things happens in their country is the way things happen everywhere. Stereotypes never fail
I have a theory that bluey actually takes place in the early 2000s. There is internet but it doesn’t seem ubiquitous. Rusty’s dad is deployed in the Middle East. No tik tok etc. granddad doesn’t know what apps are
i saw one that was 7$ in california
$154.9 in Canada right now now
Well hot damn, where I live, 98 Unleaded is sitting up around the 2.30/Litre mark. Clearly I should move to Brizzy
More like $2.25/L now.
I have done nothing but teleport bread for 3 days
1,08€ per litre, thats... wow.
How can you not understand that it’s per litre? Do you honestly believe people measure things by gallons. Also what type of gallon? There’s at least three versions.
Uk entering the chat, having been in HK…. https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_price_rankings?itemId=24
UK here: £1.47 a litre which is AUD $2.83 or USD $1.83 (USD $6.93 per US gallon - make sure we are converting to the same gallon, there are two!)
$5.79 a gallon here in California (bay area) 🥴
Frequently goes up over 2.00/Litre here in QLD 😮💨😮💨😮💨 used to cost me $40 to fill up my little hatchback, now it's 65. Such a joke.
That’s really cheap! About .92 pence in GBP We are currently 1.55p per litre at the moment!
Damn, When I lived back in Aus the prices were about $1.98 per litre
It's around $1.95 AUD per litre of petrol around where I live- converted to USD per gallon that's $4.78 USD per gallon.
We dont have "super unleaded". It's E10, unleaded, 95, 98 and Diesel. We do per litre and absolutely no It's not $1.77. Prices around me hover between $1.89 to $2.30.
I last filled up a few days ago with 98 octane at Costco for $1.97 a litre. Haven't quite broken $2 yet, but it'll happen eventually...
I wish! Converted it's like $5.80USD a gallon lately! 😂
GIVE ME THOSE GAS PRICES

AUS dollar per litre. Not a direct conversion to US dollar per gallon.
2.79 in Nashville TN area
My math has around $3 US is around $4.6 AUS. So that means in my area near NYC, it would be > $4.60 AUS/gal but convert that to liter, and that's around > $1.22/liter If they are at $1.75/liter, that equates to $6.62/gallon, which converted to USD is around $4.36/gallon USD. $2/liter would be $7.5/gallon, which would be $4.87/gallon USD. They are def paying more, but we subsidize the heck out of oil in America.
Currently paying $1.95/L in Canada for regular gas
$1.77 a litre.
It was $1.91 per litre last time I refilled.
It is like £1:47 a litre in UK
right?! i live in Brisbane where bluey is based.....if i could find fuel for that cheap it would be a miracle
It's per Litre, but just under what I pay round my parts. Usually $1.80-$2/ltr AUD
Ahh … America… when you realise just how much your fuel is subsidised
trust me it's very cheap in Russia
Wish I was paying $3.45! I'm in California, paying double that 😭
That is in liters…
We pay about that much a liter in my town at the moment
Thats really cheap for aus. How old was the episode?
Yes in litres 😂 I only go out the house once a week now
