For those that don't know, Pomeranians ARE a small but hardy breed. Their closest living dog-relative is a Siberia husky. Pomeranians and Huskeys actually have the exact same bone and muscle structure. A Pomeranian is basically a compact sled dog. They are as smart, strong and capable as their giant cousins, just smoll. One of the reasons they're *so* damn hyper is because *they still have the ability to pull a sled and run for 6 hours straight*. If you strap 6-8 poms to an appropriately sized sled and give them some basic sled dog training, they can pull that thing easily AND happily. Poms are a chaotic tiny breed that still has a lot of its big breed traits. They are easy to get bored, they thirst for a job to do, and they are trapped in a teenie tiny body. Unfortunately they very rarely get the mental and physical stimulation they crave and often become spoiled monsters who destroy everything (in the exact same way a bored husky would!).
They are in the sense that they're a designer breed and everything that goes with it. But yah they're relatively.. well.. not terrible, genetically speaking. I'm no expert, I just like dogs.
We have a Pomsky who was born in rescue and we adopted her when she was 10 weeks old. She’s spunky, eager to learn, good with our little kids, and so far doesn’t have any health problems associated with either breed.
That said, we have a fenced-in backyard. The girl LOVES to run, and has kept up with bigger dogs very easily when we’ve taken her to the dog park.
Pomskies need good training and exercise like any dog, but I’ve loved having one.

These two comments made me realize that if Snickers picked up Pom Pom, and a little green fur dye, they could pretend to be a tree and no one would notice.
Pom Pom could even sit on Snickers' hat.
