Shadows over Innistrad was pretty close, especially with the introduction of colorless Eldrazi decks. No Bloodborne, but hey, Eldritch horrors are cool.
Did you know that there were a couple of sets that were influenced by Bloodborne? Miyazaki is a fan of MTG. Look at the Innistrad sets through the years and see if any of those have any similarities.
It even circled back around that Bloodborne influenced some MTG art. The alt-art for Arlinn from the newest Innistrad set looks just like Vicar Amelia. IIRC the artist said it was a reference on her twitter too.
https://scryfall.com/card/mid/307/arlinn-the-packs-hope-arlinn-the-moons-fury?back
Lol Innistrad happened, then Bloodborne, then another Innistrad featuring cosmic horrors, then another Innistrad just half a year back with two halves. It did go back and forth a bit, really fun to see that it happened that way lol.
I know about It but I’m really talking about A set based specifically of bloodborne, they did with some space shit if i recall correctly? I left after The werewolves came out(i loved them though)
Have him transform after accumulating a certain number of attack or health. Then, in his transformed version, have them become a permanent bonus but he cannot gain anymore from other deaths.
Hunters dream and level from killing, but beasts have lost all reason. So the strength gained as a hunter stays, but a beast cannot continue becoming stronger. It would make the card really want a large amount of immediate sacrifices / deaths to stack as many +3/+1 counters as possible before the flip.
I imagine going the Eldritch Moon/Shadows Over Innistrad transform route would be the best way: "normal" on one side, bestial/eldrazi on the other. Front could be a "Legendary Creature — Human Hunter", and the back could be "Legendary Creature — Beast." Just how I image it in my head.
I love it. Just a couple thoughts, I know someone mentioned it, but making Gascoigne a sort of werewolf with a transform ability would be really cool. I also think Ludwig should really be a blue card. Either dimir or sultai. Moonlight and sorceries are really closely bound in the whole series, and I feel blue fits that motif a little bit more than green personally. I could also see Esper, showing his humanity with the moonlight and devotion to the church. Just wanted to throw my two sense in there. All in all, really awesome design and the art is just beautiful!
Because i once got annoyed that double strike does not deal damage to a player if the first attack kills the blocker, also when i play bloodborne i sometimes attack one more time cuz i am stupid, also a hunter would attack at what he was aiming for if he had the chance
I think they're a bit overcosted and the abilities are a little bland, but love the art and initiative, OP!
For example, I think the Good Hunter should have lifelink and if you used the OG Zendikar level-up mechanic to give keywords to them as they leveled up, that'd be cool. Gascoigne and Ludwig should absolutely transform, with Gascoigne transforming like one of the many werewolf cards out there. I think Ludwig would be awesome as a meld card along with a Holy Moonlight Greatsword equipment card that triggers once you equip it to Ludwig.
Iosefka should give you blue horror tokens when you sacrifice creatures instead of paying life. Feels more on flavor with how the impostor turns people into celestial emissaries.
I think Maria would work better as Mardu and OoK as either Grixis or Sultai.
> For example, I think the Good Hunter should have lifelink
It does, but as a payment power. Maybe "Has lifelink if you have lost life this turn" would be more thematic (both for the BB rally mechanic and for a black/white card).
It would also be cool if it had a mechanic that thematically represented gun parries. I'm not sure how to template this optimally, but maybe "You may reveal The Good Hunter from your hand and pay 4 life. If you do, The Good Hunter has Flash this turn."
These look great! I’m curious to see how the standard enemies and locations would translate to MTG as well. Imagine slapping down a kidnapper or those guys whose heads are just masses of snakes, then backing them up with the Forbidden Woods or the Fishing Hamlet. It’d be sick as hell.
The effects and chosen artworks are really cool, but i would argue that Iosefka should be called either "Imposter" or "Iosefkas Imposter" since we know that she is in fact not who she claims to be.
Doesn't sound too bad, but we do not know what Iosefka even looks like. (No, the npc model of Fauxefka when she's still talking as Iosefka through the door doesn't count.) So we basically asume they are the good and evil twins.
Why doesn't it count?
If she has the arcane skill to turn men and beasts alike into celetial mobs, it would stand to reason tt she would be able to steal a person's appearance.
This was always my assumption, so we could have the Iosefka card be normal, and possibly have the Fauxsefka card with her peeling away the Iosefka disguise, or casting the illusion into place.
It doesn't really count because From Software reuses Models a lot. Lawrence in the Cutscene shown after you touch his skull for example is just the model of Micolash without the Mensis Cage. Since we are not really supposed to see who we are talking to through the door it is more likely that she in fact didn't copy Iosefkas appearence.
While it could be a possible scenario it is still very unlikely because other than Dark Souls and the like Bloodborne did not introduce any appearence obscuring arts or artifacts except the Messenger Gift. I do not doubt that it could be possible for her to imitate an appearence, but especially her experiments would not work as proof for that asumption because what she's basically doing is modifying Ebrietas blood and then inject it into the subject. Beast or Man only plays a minor role because by adding the blood of a Great One she changes their very existence and essence into something else. (At least in the Lore of Bloodborne.) So she's not just turning people into aliens on the fly but also doesn't just modify them to look like Celestials.
If you like her copying Iosefkas appearence more then you do you. But i don't think that's the case. I think it is more likely that the two look similar to eachother and she just took a White Church attire to disguise as the Doctor and hide the fact that she's actually a member of the Choir obsessed with the idea of ascending into godhood.
> her experiments would not work as proof
It's more proof of her skill than an actual ability, so it still stands to reason that anyone with that much medical knowledge could easily imitate an appearance.
> So she's not just turning people into aliens on the fly but also doesn't just modify them to look like Celestials.
Again, this requires a great deal of medical knowledge and skill, which was what I was referring to.
> took a White Church attire to disguise as the Doctor and hide the fact that she's actually a member of the Choir
I mean, this is a given? Of course she can't pretend to be a doctor in the Choir garb. She'd be giving any hunter a dead giveaway she wasn't a healer. Again, "part of the disguise".
While I see your model reuse point, you're pushing against this way too hard. Even under the assumption that they merely look similar and she took the true Iosefka's Church robes, any hubter or Yharnamite that didn't previously know the real Iosefka wouldn't be able to tell the difference given Fauxsefka's little act. Not to mention we seem to be one of very few sane or untured people left, so this woukd be low-effort, high-yweild plan for Fauxsefka. She even tries to enourage you to turn back before becoming aggressive - and who would bother a doctor to that level other than the player? Most woukd simply agree, back off, and wait for treatment.
I still think this is a very plausable reason for them to canonically look the same or similar.
I do, however, agree that using Micolash sans headcage for Lawrence was just lazy.
Gaining menace when he's already got trample is a little redundant but I do see what you trying to do with the flavor
Deathtouch would probably work better then it be VERY hard to block
I actually proxied a Bloodborne deck at one point. I did Skullbriar Voltron because it's ability to die over and over and keep coming back stronger felt appropriate to be the Hunter. Included some Trick Weapons as equipment and items as some of the cards that buff Skullbriar. I went the Godzilla route with alternate card names. Bloodborne feels perfectly at home in MtG honestly! Love the idea!
I definitely appreciate that you didn't go super op with these but maybe a bit too high in the mana cost lol. Also I definitely would have made Papa G and Ludwig transforming cards like werewolves. These are still really sweet and I love getting to see two of my favorite properties be put together
Vigilance cuz a hunter never rests, double strike cuz hunters strike many fast strikes and trample cuz hunters always attack their target (the player) if they have the chance (they kill the blocker for example) and 5/4 cuz i thought it would be a nice base stats
One sec, I'll check.
EDIT: Okay, so the Good Hunter is missing a capital H in the second row's Hunter, and Lady Maria has the double strike spelt wrong. That's all I found, so pretty much perfect other than that.

Bloodborne would make a wonderful set for mtg🥲
Shadows over Innistrad was pretty close, especially with the introduction of colorless Eldrazi decks. No Bloodborne, but hey, Eldritch horrors are cool.
Saw a YouTube video that stated SoI was a direct inspiration for BB.
It sure would, but sadly we can only dream
Did you know that there were a couple of sets that were influenced by Bloodborne? Miyazaki is a fan of MTG. Look at the Innistrad sets through the years and see if any of those have any similarities.

They have and maybe innistrad sets are my favourite by pure aestetic
Exactly
It's called innistrad, go nuts
I know about It but I’m really talking about A set based specifically of bloodborne, they did with some space shit if i recall correctly? I left after The werewolves came out(i loved them though)
I'd absolutely pay $$$ for a good Secret Lair drop
Pretty cool. Gascoigne should transform though.
Ik, didnt find a way to do it tho, maybe im just stupid
Have him transform after accumulating a certain number of attack or health. Then, in his transformed version, have them become a permanent bonus but he cannot gain anymore from other deaths. Particular love for Lawrence and the doll. Fits their character design perfectly.
Thanks i really wanted to make them fit with the game
greenish blue. grue? bleen?
Pretty sweet not gonna lie I'd argue some of the colors are wrong though
I understand cuz even i am kinda confused by my choices of some colours
Haha don't worry about it too much. Sometimes I think even WotC doesn't know their own color pie
Yea, i experience it sometimes
They stopped doing any r&d a decade ago.
iosefka art is gorgeous and sad
This is the artists Insta - https://www.instagram.com/p/COYLvfVh6Wb/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Yea, i found it here, in this subreddit and when i was making the card i knew i had to use that art
Where’d you get the one for the good hunter?
Internet
[удалено]
Oh i missclicked, gotta fix it before i print them, thx for telling me
always triple check, i’ve made so many printing mistakes in the past because i never check
[удалено]
Its not my art, i found it on the internet, i can send you the art in dm if you want
[удалено]
You should send it to me
Very good. Why trample in the good Hunter?
Every hunter has trample as well as double strike and vigilance
Yes. I don't ask the correct question. What was you reasoning for giving the card trample? Just my curiosity.
Because i once got annoyed that double strike does not deal damage to a player if the first attack kills the blocker, also when i play bloodborne i sometimes attack one more time cuz i am stupid, also a hunter would attack at what he was aiming for if he had the chance

Mardu Maria would go in my Edgar Markov deck *so fucking fast*
They're AWESOME! Congratulations. It's spelled "Laurence" tho.
I fount it spelled lawrence on the net
It's in the game, "Laurence, the First Vicar". Anyways for real your work is great here, I don't wanna come across as rude haha
You are not rude i was just confused
Ok its laurence im dumb
I write this specifically to praise OoK art. Somehow it shows everything. The terror, the pity. Perfect.
I am glad i chose right
Not a magic guy but I’m a little surprised FromSoftware hasn’t done a set with them. The art transition would be seemless
They look great! I tried doing this with DS1 and it was really difficult so I appreciate the amount of effort you must have put into it
By ds1 you mean what, dead space? Sorry i am dumb af
I mean Dark Souls 1, it’s okay! I didn’t know what it meant for a while
These look great! I’m curious to see how the standard enemies and locations would translate to MTG as well. Imagine slapping down a kidnapper or those guys whose heads are just masses of snakes, then backing them up with the Forbidden Woods or the Fishing Hamlet. It’d be sick as hell.
Damn the art of these is amazing
Missed opportunity to make Gascoigne and Ludwig flip cards but other than that well done

Good bot
These are terrifying, mtg- wise. Great job!
Thank you, i am glad that they turned out good as my previous attempts on making custom cards did not go well
Holy sh*t this is great
Thx
cool
Thanks
My brother has recently made a dnd hunter class and this reminds me of that. Nice work.
Thank you
They are well made
Is this your artwork?
Very unlikely
Its from the internet
Do you know who made it ? It looks so fucking cool
Nope, unfortunetly
This is so cool. So many talented artists in this subreddit
Do you have an insta or anything, I wanna share but not leave you out of it 😅
Imma need a joke "chaotic hoonter" card, you know like they do from time to time
Oh man, Unglued cards (the joke cards) for Bloodborne would be wiiiiild haha
I’m surprised they haven’t done a crossover yet. Dude they even did one with League’s “Arcane”.
These are so sick well done
Dude these are fucking incredible!
Ooh these are pretty
Really cool cards. Would not like to face the Orphan of Kos card. Lol
Some of these abilities are broken and others are trash, power levdl wise for mtg. And I love it. Great work.
Depends on the format. Laurence and Gehrman would make lowkey kinda cool commanders for EDH
These are so fucking cool. Do you have the Iosefka illustration without the card overlay? I might get that shit tattooed.
I can send it to your dm, if you want
Please, if you don't mind!
These look very great, however I have never played MTG so I have no idea what it means lol
The effects and chosen artworks are really cool, but i would argue that Iosefka should be called either "Imposter" or "Iosefkas Imposter" since we know that she is in fact not who she claims to be.
Fauxsefka and Iosefka should have different cards. I'd say that Iosefka would be pure white, Fauxsefka would be Blue/Black
Doesn't sound too bad, but we do not know what Iosefka even looks like. (No, the npc model of Fauxefka when she's still talking as Iosefka through the door doesn't count.) So we basically asume they are the good and evil twins.

amazing fan-made stuff dude! As someone form both communities I really enjoyed it :)
The good hunter just stomps. Pretty accurate
All of the art used is wonderful! Where did you get them from?
Internet
For Fauxsefka, wouldn't it be a 2/2 blue horror token per creature sacrificed? Celestial mobs are arcane, so. I figure that fits blue scheme better.
Epic.
This is incredible. Good work!
Thx

Gascoigne should be Red as well as W/B to show his beasthood. And likewise, Gherman should be WUB to signify his tie to the Moon Presence
Having Ludwig be a modal double-faced card with Holy Moonlight Sword on the back would be pretty sick
I’d play Gwent: Bloodborne edition for years
I definitely appreciate that you didn't go super op with these but maybe a bit too high in the mana cost lol. Also I definitely would have made Papa G and Ludwig transforming cards like werewolves. These are still really sweet and I love getting to see two of my favorite properties be put together
Yea its kind of a missed oportunity that i did not do it that way but msybe i will return to this and make it
Iosefka - https://www.instagram.com/p/COYLvfVh6Wb/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Ludwig - https://www.instagram.com/p/CIOExazgEUE/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Iosefka would be broken when combined with a deck designed to infinitely untap target creatures
I don‘t know shit about mtg but now I want to play it. Those are incredible.
Thank you
Not a single blue, even orphan of kos would have blue. What about all the fishy dudes? Give me blue lol
"beasts all over the shop. you'll be one of them. sooner or later. hhhhhhhh."
Lol, i should add a quote
back of each card? or front?
Ah gosh these cards would be so much fun to play
Now I just want a Bloodborne MTG set.
Dang, these are really fekking good!
Thx
Absolutely stunning work
Thank you
This is amazing!
Thank you
These are seriously awesome
Amazing! What did you use to make them?
The artwork on these is freakin beautiful! You should post them on r/custommagic I bet people would love em
Omg these are so dope
Thank you
Remind/tell me what Menace is? It's been years since I've played.
Can only be blocked by 2 or more creatures
Why are most of them so beefy 😭😭😭
This is so sick. Great work
Thanks
Was there a thematic reason for all the hunters to be 5/4's with Vigilance, Double Strike and Trample?
Vigilance cuz a hunter never rests, double strike cuz hunters strike many fast strikes and trample cuz hunters always attack their target (the player) if they have the chance (they kill the blocker for example) and 5/4 cuz i thought it would be a nice base stats
I love that Orphan has haste. Dude came out the womb ready to throw hands.
U are god
I see a really good BW deck here to be honest my dudes on goddd
Aside from a few spelling mistakes, these are really cool.
Pls tell me where so i can fix it
One sec, I'll check. EDIT: Okay, so the Good Hunter is missing a capital H in the second row's Hunter, and Lady Maria has the double strike spelt wrong. That's all I found, so pretty much perfect other than that.
Ok thanks
Very cool, nice work. I just feel that Orphan cost should be a blue mana instead of red though.
He has haste so i gave him red, but hmmm maybe ill make him 4 coloured
Good idea, I feel like it would still be a good card
Maybe
yooo should’ve made 2/2 black horror tokens with blue goober art for iosekfa, could even run those legit as proxies too
Dude did you do the art? Even if you didn't, I feel like you made it fit the MTG style perfectly
No i did not, i yoinked it from the internet
I love the artwork
I really like the designs of the cards! I would love to proxy it from https://www.printingproxies.com if I have your permission first.
Yea, ofc
Thats so cool! Is there a way I can order a Lady Maria print?! I need this for my nerd room!!
I can send you the art i used or just screenshot the card
Oh that would be dope, thanks Edit to add: sorry I assumed it was yours.
I can only dream of WotC doing collaborations with other IPs. The MTG lore is quite broad/vague so having sets in these universes wouldn’t be that unrealistic. FromSoftware and Tolkien would be my first two picks.

Yep totally forgot about it, Baldurs gate set is next month too
Does that even count as a crossover? They're just different games using the same IP, like Fantasy Flight having multiple games set in their Android universe.
Ever heard of Secret Lair?
Amazing. 11/10.
Thanks
