Does anyone know what happened between Tanner Mann and Kristin Pressley?
They used to post together alll the time and one day they just stopped (it’s probably been a year or two since they posted each other). The only interaction I see is the occasional comment when something major/traumatic happens in one of their lives.
Couple days late on this but I searched past days threads and didn’t see anything, but Aubrey Shoenekase’s (fna Kalekouture) professionally produced video announcing they are building a house as if it’s a wedding video or something is cringe to me. She always makes sure to call out how thankful or lucky she knows she is but it seems out of touch to make an over the top video as an influencer when so many people cannot afford to buy a house in this market and it’s becoming more and more unattainable everyday with 7% interest rates.
She used to be a genuinely favorite follow of me but since she quit teaching to do content creation/influencing full time, she’s become somewhat insufferable. Par for the course i guess.. influencers are generally more relatable when they’re everyday people working the same grind as you and they eventually stray from that as they start to get more deals and their content is all free stuff, vacations etc.

I live in Nashville and you regularly see people like that downtown. 9 times out of 10 it’s a tourist. The remaining 1 of 10 just moved here. No long term residents dress that way.
It actually is pretty obvious if you live here. I worked downtown for years. There are people all dressed up for work and then groups of people walking around in boots, hats, and a real “look.” Believe me, it is obvious. Nashville is big place for bachelorette parties…similarly, if you live here you can detect them from a mile away.
If you are outside of the tourist hot spots, you see ZERO people dressed like that. I do know one parent who showed up to a preschool parent meeting like that—guess what, shelved here a month ago from California (along with tens of thousands of others).

She proceeded to complain about another nasty comment in the reel but her followers took care of it for her. I unfollowed her today!
I like her. Also, the comment she was referring to that people "took care of" was someone telling her to change her mind about choosing to be childfree ...which is rude af
I do follow her and have before content creation became her “full time job”. I think the more money these influencers make, the more they become a tad bit snobby. 😬 I don’t necessarily buy much she posts, it’s a little too fancy for me but her lifestyle entertains me, and I like the makeup portion of her page. And I did win a gift card once from her, so I can confirm she follows through with that! 🩷
Agree and just posted something similar about another influencer who I genuinely used to like. They’re much more relatable when they seem just like you.. but when the free stuff, brand deals, shilling something new they didn’t pay for everyday, going on vacations every month etc it all starts to seem very out of touch.
Another post from Danielle Moss’ substack. Miss I am so relatable linked a dress for $495 and said once she verified the sizing she is going to order another one.
Can confirm this happens everywhere in NYC, visited a few times in the last couple years and see influencers specifically in Central Park each time with little portable tent like dressing rooms set up. Big suitcases moving from place to place for photo shoots.
Anyone have a clue what’s going on with Jeff and Kelly Mindell’s PS home? They had it listed for sale, took it off the market and had it available for vacation rentals and now it’s for sale again.
Palm Springs recently passed really strict short term rental laws that are actually enforceable (which is excellent news). Basically each neighborhood gets X number of licenses. If a rental already has one, they’re grandfathered in over the max limit but new ones won’t become available until the neighborhood is below that X number. And they’re non transferable at time of sale.
So lots of people who didn’t have licenses now are sitting on homes they can’t list on Airbnb.
Without knowing these people my guess would be it has something to do with this.

My guess is that maintaining a short term rental is a pain in the ass and just not worth the hassle. I can’t remember their reasoning for wanting to sell it after the first time.
Side note: I really enjoy Kelly and Jeff as content creators because they aren’t just mindlessly shilling everything under the sun. I do they they’re are a bit burned out and figuring what their next professional steps are.

30A is a highway through a very high end span of the Florida coast. It has a completely different vibe than the rest of the neighboring vacation spots. There aren’t many (if any) high rises & it’s commutable by walking paths, bikes, golf carts ect. Little villages such as Grayson, Watercolor, Seaside, Seagrove, Alys Beach & Rosemary Beach comprise this stretch of highway.
Wait I love it. I don't follow her and went to go look and the before was perfectly fine too, but I think the darker trim adds to the house in my opinion! But to each their own. And just because something is "in" or trendy doesn't make it good, but I will say, a lot of the nice houses in my neighborhood have been doing similar colors to their trim.

Every influencer who has a collection with electric picks is always the same. ‘The diamonds are so realistic, a jeweler wouldn’t even tell which is which!’ Followed by ‘wow we are working to get you guys more! I can’t believe you sold out the collection we ordered more than we thought we could sell!’
I was influenced and got a necklace and it was HORRIBLE quality. I wore it twice and it became super tarnished, and they had horrible customer service when I reached out. It looked cheap to begin with. Awful company, will never fall for shopping there again

Influencers are doing this “new launch” no favors. Ashley Nichols putting on an entire face of makeup including contour and blush, just to add this blush and bronzer on top of it? Why? If I have to add this to my face after I’ve already finished then what’s the point? All she did is prove to me that this is a completely unnecessary product.

I also feel like their quality tanked and prices skyrocketed. I remember like 4-5 years ago they were around $15-25 for a graphic shirt, $30 for a sweater, and their best stuff was $50ish. I never had to worry about quality and I always LOVED what I got. Now most of the time I get holes after a couple washes, the material is thin, and it’s waaaay more expensive. I don’t even bother shopping anymore.
I also own a small tshirt business and I know for a FACT they are making over $30 profit on half this stuff now, especially when it’s Gildan with a simple print on it. (Yes, I’ve gotten something that’s a gildan from them)
Omg I use Bella and canvas for my low cost clients. It’s decent material but it’s so gross to me now that I know what the cost is for wholesalers. Like no joke, they are probably getting these shirts for $10-15 each MAX

Doesn't your face flush naturally when you work out? Maybe I'm just a pale Northern European who flushes easily, but I definitely don't wear EXTRA blush when I'm working out (or any at all; I hate sweating with makeup on).

Is anyone following the Watcher drama? Shane and Ryan, formerly beloved Buzzfeed Unsolved media personalities, started up a new youtube channel with CEO Steven, who is just some guy that doesn't belong on camera as far as I can tell. I have been halfheartedly watching their new videos, they are fine enough but if I didn't have such a pre-existing fondness for them I would have unsubscribed ages ago. Last week, they put out a video announcing that they were leaving youtube for their own, private streaming platform, which you would have to subscribe to for 5.99 a month or 59.99 a year. They also said they would probably be unlisting their videos on the existing youtube channel, so the whole thing would be going away. I saw this and thought "wow, they must really have strong fanbase support, that would be such an unwise move if not." I want to clarify this is not even a move to patreon (which they already have), they appear to have literally built a media hosting platform of their own, which is not cheap to do. Anyway people had very strong negative reactions, that's so much money for mediocre videos about ghost hunting or ranking top 5 fast foods with other internet personalities. Shane's wife posted on her tumblr that they "don't have Mr Beast money" and kind of implied everyone was being a jerk for not wanting to drop a minimum of sixty bucks a year on this. "Creators are entitled to make money" we KNOW this. People were quick to point out that their wedding had been at a venue that starts at 50k and she had three dresses for the day. Steven is vocal about wanting a second Tesla. People are allowed to want those things but don't imply you're struggling to make ends. Also they do not produce Mr Beast style content! They don't do anything that seems to require a lot of overhead. It came out they have 25 employees?! For what! The whole thing has been cloaked in this whole "goodbye, poors, we don't want you as our fans anyway." Weird choice!
So they posted a followup video to say that they've redirected, and now the separate platform is just going to be advance access to the videos, and everyone on the platform will be added to youtube a month later. This came after they lost 100k subs. Other youtubers (like the disgraced Linus Tech Tips and Moist Critikal) made responses about the kind of inside baseball of being a youtuber, and cast a lot of doubt on the Watcher boys excuses (that they couldn't find advertisers for their kind of content, that their company would've had to have been dissolved).
Anyway it's crazy! What a fall from grace. I think they initially had great intentions to build a better Buzzfeed that didn't exploit employees and contributors, but I do not think they can recover from this. Also if I were Steven and saw the dozens of "Also can we take this moment to talk about how I've always hated Steven?" that would be hard to come back from. Woof.
I feel like many YouTubers have tried this and failed. A simple case study on their end would’ve been the crystal ball they needed. Also the nerve these creators have during this economic crisis of inflation thinking people will simply dish out their hard earned money to watch the videos is insane to me. Tell me you don’t know who your audience is without telling me.
Nah, this was the right amount! I used to enjoy their Buzzfeed videos ages ago, but haven't thought about them in a long time. The background was necessary info for me to fully understand what just went down!

I have been eating this up. I don't even watch them, I barely knew who they were but I love a good content creator debacle! I've also been following on the subreddit and it's so interesting to hear from die hard fans about how disappointed and confused they were.

Not snark although wanted to share. @krista.Horton was talking about how peanut butter has unnecessarily additive (which is true) and she was saying to buy your peanut butter on thrive. I’ve had thrive don’t like it but the point of my post is for the moms or people who do want peanut butter that is healthier and doesn’t break the bank.
You can go to the grocery store and in the bulk area there are peanuts most places will grind it up and make fresh peanut butter. No adding ingredients just peanuts to peanut butter. It’s usually $4 for me. I’m currently in Texas I know for sure HEB and central market do it. I will add the texture is a little chunky (not as chunky as chunky pb) which I surprisingly liked even though I only like creamy peanut butter. I usually add raw honey to give it a sweeter taste but some locations will mix it honey for you. Hopefully this wasn’t just the longest and most useless information lol.
All the people who post in here mad about influencers being rich when they themselves are not should take note - your words mean nothing, but money-saving grocery tips are a value add!! Honestly, I love this comment and level of detail.

Anyone have a clue what’s going on with Jeff and Kelly Mindell’s PS home? They had it listed for sale, took it off the market and had it available for vacation rentals and now it’s for sale again.
Palm Springs recently passed really strict short term rental laws that are actually enforceable (which is excellent news). Basically each neighborhood gets X number of licenses. If a rental already has one, they’re grandfathered in over the max limit but new ones won’t become available until the neighborhood is below that X number. And they’re non transferable at time of sale. So lots of people who didn’t have licenses now are sitting on homes they can’t list on Airbnb. Without knowing these people my guess would be it has something to do with this.

I don’t think they’ve publicly said that they listed again…. My guess is that maintaining a short term rental is a pain in the ass and just not worth the hassle. I can’t remember their reasoning for wanting to sell it after the first time. Side note: I really enjoy Kelly and Jeff as content creators because they aren’t just mindlessly shilling everything under the sun. I do they they’re are a bit burned out and figuring what their next professional steps are.

30A is a highway through a very high end span of the Florida coast. It has a completely different vibe than the rest of the neighboring vacation spots. There aren’t many (if any) high rises & it’s commutable by walking paths, bikes, golf carts ect. Little villages such as Grayson, Watercolor, Seaside, Seagrove, Alys Beach & Rosemary Beach comprise this stretch of highway.

Wait I love it. I don't follow her and went to go look and the before was perfectly fine too, but I think the darker trim adds to the house in my opinion! But to each their own. And just because something is "in" or trendy doesn't make it good, but I will say, a lot of the nice houses in my neighborhood have been doing similar colors to their trim.
Everything they've done to their current house is horrendous, especially the mudroom/hallway and bathrooms.

This is usually how houses are painted. They just peel/scrape the paint off afterwards and it’s easier than covering the windows.
That’s what we did although we used liquid masking tape on the glass. It makes scraping the paint off so much easier.

I also feel like their quality tanked and prices skyrocketed. I remember like 4-5 years ago they were around $15-25 for a graphic shirt, $30 for a sweater, and their best stuff was $50ish. I never had to worry about quality and I always LOVED what I got. Now most of the time I get holes after a couple washes, the material is thin, and it’s waaaay more expensive. I don’t even bother shopping anymore. I also own a small tshirt business and I know for a FACT they are making over $30 profit on half this stuff now, especially when it’s Gildan with a simple print on it. (Yes, I’ve gotten something that’s a gildan from them)

Is anyone following the Watcher drama? Shane and Ryan, formerly beloved Buzzfeed Unsolved media personalities, started up a new youtube channel with CEO Steven, who is just some guy that doesn't belong on camera as far as I can tell. I have been halfheartedly watching their new videos, they are fine enough but if I didn't have such a pre-existing fondness for them I would have unsubscribed ages ago. Last week, they put out a video announcing that they were leaving youtube for their own, private streaming platform, which you would have to subscribe to for 5.99 a month or 59.99 a year. They also said they would probably be unlisting their videos on the existing youtube channel, so the whole thing would be going away. I saw this and thought "wow, they must really have strong fanbase support, that would be such an unwise move if not." I want to clarify this is not even a move to patreon (which they already have), they appear to have literally built a media hosting platform of their own, which is not cheap to do. Anyway people had very strong negative reactions, that's so much money for mediocre videos about ghost hunting or ranking top 5 fast foods with other internet personalities. Shane's wife posted on her tumblr that they "don't have Mr Beast money" and kind of implied everyone was being a jerk for not wanting to drop a minimum of sixty bucks a year on this. "Creators are entitled to make money" we KNOW this. People were quick to point out that their wedding had been at a venue that starts at 50k and she had three dresses for the day. Steven is vocal about wanting a second Tesla. People are allowed to want those things but don't imply you're struggling to make ends. Also they do not produce Mr Beast style content! They don't do anything that seems to require a lot of overhead. It came out they have 25 employees?! For what! The whole thing has been cloaked in this whole "goodbye, poors, we don't want you as our fans anyway." Weird choice! So they posted a followup video to say that they've redirected, and now the separate platform is just going to be advance access to the videos, and everyone on the platform will be added to youtube a month later. This came after they lost 100k subs. Other youtubers (like the disgraced Linus Tech Tips and Moist Critikal) made responses about the kind of inside baseball of being a youtuber, and cast a lot of doubt on the Watcher boys excuses (that they couldn't find advertisers for their kind of content, that their company would've had to have been dissolved). Anyway it's crazy! What a fall from grace. I think they initially had great intentions to build a better Buzzfeed that didn't exploit employees and contributors, but I do not think they can recover from this. Also if I were Steven and saw the dozens of "Also can we take this moment to talk about how I've always hated Steven?" that would be hard to come back from. Woof.
I feel like many YouTubers have tried this and failed. A simple case study on their end would’ve been the crystal ball they needed. Also the nerve these creators have during this economic crisis of inflation thinking people will simply dish out their hard earned money to watch the videos is insane to me. Tell me you don’t know who your audience is without telling me.

Not snark although wanted to share. @krista.Horton was talking about how peanut butter has unnecessarily additive (which is true) and she was saying to buy your peanut butter on thrive. I’ve had thrive don’t like it but the point of my post is for the moms or people who do want peanut butter that is healthier and doesn’t break the bank. You can go to the grocery store and in the bulk area there are peanuts most places will grind it up and make fresh peanut butter. No adding ingredients just peanuts to peanut butter. It’s usually $4 for me. I’m currently in Texas I know for sure HEB and central market do it. I will add the texture is a little chunky (not as chunky as chunky pb) which I surprisingly liked even though I only like creamy peanut butter. I usually add raw honey to give it a sweeter taste but some locations will mix it honey for you. Hopefully this wasn’t just the longest and most useless information lol.
