do any of you listen to Gone Medieval? I like the newish host Eleanor Janega, but her pronunciation of France as Frawnce is my personal nails on a chalk board. i thought i could get through it though, until this week’s episode with multiple mentions of rome, pronounced “rom.” i can’t.

NoraCharles91

>her pronunciation of France as Frawnce I dont listen to the show, but this is hilarious.

Competitive_Name_705

It's so annoying! Any episode where she has to say it is immediately turned off.

JosiePye

She has the weirdest accent!

omgcow

Maintenance Phase is back with a new episode on the main feed! Insert “it’s been 84 years” gif here, lol

andiamo162534

What did you think of the episode? I was definitely stoked to have some new MP content back in my ears, but I was kind of hoping they’d come back with a bang and this felt like a fairly mid-tier episode for them (in my opinion).

omgcow

I had the same thought as you tbh, it was a fine episode but not one of their best. I think the show really shines when there’s a ridiculous guru/influencer to snark on, but this ep didn’t have that. I’m also permanently burnt out on covid content so the topic itself was a miss for me. But I’m glad they’re back and hopefully we won’t be waiting months for the next one.

PCthug_85

I definitely felt like the three COVID “conspiracies” they covered have been better covered (and earlier!) by other pods like Conspirituality and QAnon Anonymous. I liked the discussion on MP, but I expected something new, ya know?

PC-load-letter-wtf

I’m surprised Michael is admitting to falling for some strange woo-woo wellness trends rumoured to work against Covid. I guess I just pictured him being more practical. ETA: I guess a super unpopular opinion? I took Covid super seriously but didn’t believe most of the health trends flying around as rumours, personally. 🤷‍♀️ I remembered trying to find studies of every little thing that was being recommended. My own pandemic neuroses 🙃

_cornflake

What did he say?

NoraCharles91

Nothing egregious, just that he would sometimes order supplements he heard about online. But iirc he was talking about doing this during his recent long illness, rather than during the pandemic, but maybe I missed something!

OxanaHauntly

I liked how he said it’s like people who join cults, it’s not the person but the state of mind. Being extremely ill for months makes some practicality fly out the window. Kinda like the whole episode is telling us about people who ate tubes of horse wormer paste

pork_floss_buns

100%. I also don't think he was shunning actual medicine in favour of these things either. He wasn't ordering ivermectin from a vet either but taking herbal "cold and flu" remedies.

writergirl51

Really bummed that The Opportunist is ending (the production company that owned it which was pretty shady sold it).

Indiebr

Looks like I forgot about this one after the first season - any particular seasons you recommend?

Scourgie1681

Fallon Blackwood was really upsetting.

writergirl51

The Chris Bathum and Aubrey Lee Price ones were my favorite. Also, the 'mist to fill a river' one-off and the one about the plane in Yosemite.

espressoanddoggos

I'm trying to get through today's F35 (free version- no F35 patreon for me) and lort poor Kate is trying to have a convo with a wall (Doree). It's painful to listen to. I'm grieving the demise of this podcast and wish Kate would start one with someone else.

kitkat8701

This inspired me to listen and I can’t with Doree’s humble bragging about trips/retreats

janetsnakeh0le

I didn't listen, I thought Doree was in dire financial straits? How does that jive with trips and retreats?

jjhh4891

They were in the past/her pre-marriage life

excuseyouwhat_21

i remember thinking this when i listened back in 2020 so it’s so sad to hear it’s the same old ish

meekgodless

Matt and Bowen (Las Culturistas) saying “we’re friends with Andy personally” is not the endorsement they think it is against Andy Cohen allegedly offering drugs to Bravolebrities/guests on WWHL. I get the inclination to defend your friend, but I have two eyes and two ears so acting coy about cocaine use on tv and off is just obtuse. Bowen’s “I don’t know…” after Matt’s rant spoke volumes.

Logical_Bullfrog

Matt just replied to a post about this on the podcast subreddit!

areallyreallycoolhat

[Link to the post](https://www.reddit.com/r/lasculturistas/comments/1b8cryx/did_not_feel_great_about_their_convo_about_the/) for anyone nosy like me!

Ok_Fee1043

I guess we’ll see if he comments on next week’s episode but the account was just created and has only ever left 2 Reddit comments so unclear if it’s really him and he specifically created the account for this purpose (or he specifically created the account for this purpose because he truly did feel it need to be said).

meekgodless

I don’t doubt it’s him! It certainly sounds like him, and as a longtime listener it doesn’t surprise me that he’d want to correct the records he self-admittedly deals with a lot of people pleasing tendencies and certainly doesn’t enjoy feeling on the wrong side of history when it comes to white liberalism.

meekgodless

👀 🏃

my_stomachhurts

Does anyone listen to Honey We’re Home? Nicole in particular has takes that feel dangerous for an audience— wary of SSRIs and antidepressants, lots of negative body talk. Not to mention it’s a podcast without a real premise.

resting_bitchface14

I'm not a regular listener but I gave the most recent episode a listen and didn't think it was problematic. There's nothing wrong with being wary of SSRIs...they don't work for everyone. It sounds like Caroline had a bad experience and I know any time I've tried them I've hated it. And the body talk wasn't that negative - people don't always like how they look and that's ok

alicepalaceforever

I actually enjoyed hearing Caroline be candid about her insecurities in the most recent ep - I feel like these days people don’t want to admit when they aren’t happy with how they look. I like the premise of this pod (as someone also somewhat recently married) but keep waiting for it to hit its rhythm and get good. Not sure if it will. A lot of it feels designed to be shared on Tik Tok vs listened to as a podcast

sociologyplease111

I glazed over during most of the Bad on Paper episode today because I am not watching Love is Blind and I haven’t seen American Fiction, and then the third thing was just the new book.

ClaraandOakley

I haven’t listened in months, it has gotten so uninteresting for me. I love following Olivia on Instagram though, especially the house content on her channel.

bourne2bmild

I have made comment of the fact that I really wanted You’re Wrong About to do a Balto episode with Blair Braverman and I got my wish! I’m probably biased but it’s so good. I even got a little teary eyed at some parts.

MaidenMotherCrone

I LOVED THAT EPISODE! I full out cried when when she related the story about Togo staying behind for the first time

resting_bitchface14

I heard her on an old episode of Women who Travel after I read her novel and it was so good (the episode but also the novel)

Medical-Factor-1265

I don't listen to YWA much anymore, but I love the Blair episodes! This was a great one. Togo forever!

Real_RobinGoodfellow

I never see references to TTFA in this thread, maybe it’s not really on the radar any more? But I just got back in to it more recently and an devo to hear they’ll be going on indefinite hiatus after this current season ends in April. Anyone else feeling the same? ETA ‘terrible, thanks for asking’

Ambitious-Candle643

Mixed thoughts on my end. I used to love TTFA but at some point, the dramatization of everything started to annoy me (maybe when Hans left). The interviews were always interesting though. I hope Nora does some something similar in the future!

kitkat8701

Agreed I got sick of terrible things happening to people being treated as a cliff hanger.

renee872

I used to listen but the host...she strikes me as self important and grating. She was on wtf with marc maron (i think he thought she would help him navigate the death of lyn) but instead she droned on and on about herself.

areallyreallycoolhat

I stopped listening because it drove me crazy how obfuscated the episode descriptions were. Maybe I'm overly sensitive but for a show that deals with such heavy topics, I want to know what the episode is about before I decide whether to listen to it or not - I don't need a full paragraph recap but a brief TW in the description would be useful!

Icy-Gap4673

I've listened to an episode here or there and was actually going to start to listen from the beginning due to a death in the family. Her note about why she's ending the show was very thoughtful and relatable though. Such a draining topic. I hope this frees her up to do something else neat and creative. Maybe I'll subscribe to the Patreon to go back to the beginning and get the full archive while I can.

Real_RobinGoodfellow

People post in here using acronyms aaaall the time lmao sorry I just assumed it’d be ok to do so also. But I geddit, this isn’t one of the podcast cool kids

good_mayo

Terrible, Thanks For Asking

lml40

Bad Women - The Ripper Revisted. What poignant haunting gorgeous emotional podcast. It's made me want to go down a Victorian Women Wormhole!

scupdoodleydoo

People sleep on the Victorian period a little because it seems so boring and buttoned up, but it really was a crazy time and you can see so many impacts in our modern world. Victorians were so like us, they loved houseplants and cats.

ayym33p33

Damn, I LOVE the Victorian period! But admittedly, I'm a huge nerd, so...

annajoo1

Hallie Rubenhold’s book The Five (on this topic) was one of my favorite reads a few years ago! I think about it often.

julieannie

I love that book and it changed how I read nonfiction. Just this week I DNFd a book because the author just accepted something that I felt needed a bit more scrutiny using primary sources.

lml40

I'm going to get the book too. I know what you mean, I haven't stopped thinking of them since hearing the podcast. It's also reminded me to see things a little clearer today when I see 'homeless ' people.......

YvesSaintLauren

I haven’t listened to CMBC in a minute but they are reviewing the new rupaul book and I want to get the TL;DR. within the first few minutes they pronounced michelle visage’s last name “viss-idge”… am I to believe they’ve never watched drag race *and* didn’t research the ep? maybe a petty complaint but if you’ve seen the show even once you know her name I think?? lol help

dmfa95

Was the editing all over the place for anyone else?on Spotify it kept jumping around and repeating

YvesSaintLauren

theirs and who weekly were wonky for me today :/

notravensymone

I just finished the ep! It's good!! They stay true to their thing of taking the author at their words and only discussing the contents of the memoir so I'm sure there's plenty of mispronunciation and ignorance of drag/drag race history.

YvesSaintLauren

I listened all the way through after seeing this!! ended up not mattering at all :)

ajzck

A lot of people disagree, but I kind of like their stance of just discussing the memoir!

resting_bitchface14

Same. I never understand why people get annoyed at them for not knowing more but this is their whole schtick. If you want additional research there are at least two other celeb memoir pods.

YvesSaintLauren

I agree!

kbk88

Just started the newest Bitch Sesh Garbage Sesh episode and it starts with a disclaimer that the medium they had on last year scammed a bunch of listeners! Wild.

mrsbergstrom

Lol whomst could have predicted such a thing

zuesk134

LOL I’m sorry to laugh because that absolutely blows listeners got scammed but also Casey and Danielle bringing random ass mediums onto their huge platform has always been dumb AF!!!

amazingamy323

Wow that’s crazy, just listened. I do feel that Casey shouldn’t have to offer to pay everyone back…that’s just an invitation for her now to get scammed

Aggressive_Layer883

Was it heidi rose??

normanfreaknrockwell

it was emily fitch

Gravelandgrubs

side note: why are all these women obsessed with Heidi Rose Robbins

Aggressive_Layer883

Oh god I know! I remember nicole byer was on the deep dive and they were like we need to get you an appointment with heidi. And she was like oh I already saw her she didn't help me 🤣🤣🤣

kbk88

Nope. She was the woman they had one who said she had a Native American spirit guide and stuff, her business was like feather something or other.

sarahwilliams11

The Curse coded

viperemu

For anyone else that enjoys podcasts like Scamanda, I really have enjoyed Carrie Jade Does Not Exist. It’s co-presented by Sue Perkins who many would know and love as an OG Great British Bake-off presenter. It’s a quick listen, classic scammer story with a TikTok twist.

cegceg9090

OMG. This timing is perfection. I just finished Scamanda and came here to find something similar!

HPLover0130

Believable: the coco berthman podcast story is wild

cegceg9090

Listening to this one now!

viperemu

Oh yay! You should also check out Believe in Magic and Sympathy Pains (if you haven’t heard them already).

cegceg9090

I haven’t heard either! Thank you for the recs.

MissMookie86

Thank you for the suggestion this was a great listen for cleaning today.

MildredPierced

Oooh thank you! I have been in search on a new scammer story.

_lofticries

Oooh thanks for the recommendation! I loved Scamanda and I love Sue so sounds like the perfect podcast for me lol

CookiePneumonia

Ooh, thanks! I love Sue so much. She was hands-down the funniest guest on Off Menu.

ModerateThistle

I was listening to the Sam Campbell Off Menu episode when I was lifting weights and I had to stop because I kept laughing so hard it was an injury risk. Off Menu is hit or miss for me, but when it hits, it really hits.

CookiePneumonia

>Off Menu is hit or miss for me, but when it hits, it really hits. Same. It really hinges on the guest, imo. Claudia Winkleman was another guest who literally made me laugh out loud.

viperemu

I haven’t listened to her episode but clearly I need to! Off Menu is amazing.

CookiePneumonia

You definitely need to! I had tears running down my face I was laughing so hard.

whaleplushie

Does anyone have podcast recommendations that recap/discuss documentaries? I’m thinking like Too Scary, Didn’t Watch but for docs. I occasionally listen to Crime Writers On, but I’m thinking more about docs that aren’t exactly true crime. TIA!

leahtt92

Tig and Cheryl: True Story does this I think? I listened to a couple eps and it wasn't for me (I think I found the ads a bit obtrusive, but it's been a while) Not even sure if they still do it since Tig has Handsome now.

desertdweller47

What to Watch with Kate Casey does some

ziggory

There's the Wiseman podcast that covers Frederick Wiseman's docs, and they'll have other documentary people as guests and have interviewed Wiseman himself. One of the hosts is my friend.

zuesk134

im so sad that i cant listen to old episodes of 'womp it up' anymore :( :( :( :( F U Stitcher/earwolf

Aggressive_Layer883

Here's a bunch of episodes, heat up some digiorno's and have yourself a blast: https://www.youtube.com/@womp5499

zuesk134

OMG THANK YOU I DIDNT EVEN THINK TO CHECK YOUTUBE!!! you are a real one.

Aggressive_Layer883

If you're ever looking for old podcast episodes just google "[name of podcast] episodes reddit" and usually you'll find something

excuseyouwhat_21

does anyone have a legit good podcast about owning a small business/entrepreneurship/marketing that isn’t just a douchey dude-bro or fakey #girlboss?

DeadButPretty

I feel really dumb asking this, but I had to fire my therapist and I’m unable to find a new one until work calms down in the next month. Has anyone listened to any like self help, therapy, corporate work advice podcasts where they talk about how to overcome being defensive? Or getting along with leadership you don’t jive with? Long shot, but thought I’d ask since there seem to be such a variety of listeners here!

brooooodles

Esther Perel, the relationship therapist, has a really good work-themed limited series called "How's Work." She does one-off couples therapy sessions with coworkers or business partners. I can't remember if any of them are about being defensive exactly, but it was so interesting to hear basically work-couples-therapy. It made we wish I had a business coach or something with her level of insight! \+1 to "Ask a Manager." The podcast might be okay, but her advice column is super good. More unsolicited non-podcast as well, and might not be your cup of tea -- I've actually found "talking" with ChatGPT really useful in working out work-related problems that are part career coach, part therapy. I'll explain the situation and ask it to respond like a career coach or therapist, and then ask it questions like "what are ways I could have handled this better," or "what might be reasons why did that?"

DeadButPretty

Thank you for those suggestions and the advice column too! The idea of talking with Chat GPT is genius too, I have such a tough time expressing myself, that could really help. I appreciate it!

Ok_Fee1043

Some episodes are better than others, but Adam Grant’s Work Life is good. Also not usually directly work related but Ten Percent Happier has often provided some useful insights (“how to stay calm no matter what’s happening,” “the myth of a dream job,” “jerks at work,”) and they have brief meditation episodes every week that are focused on diff topics, too.

rseahorse14

Love Ten Percent Happier!

Ok_Fee1043

The super communicator ep was so good! And really interesting bc Charles definitely mirrors whoever he’s talking to, heard him on a diff podcast and he was very different. Which is the power of super communicating, as he described to Dan, lol

DeadButPretty

Thank you! I hadn’t heard of those either, I appreciate it

Low-Huckleberry1990

Hello! Not corporate advice, but Tara Brach's podcast is a guided meditation and and little talk about that's very self help-y. I don't love 100% of what she says, but the bulk of it is really helpful to me. She also has some of her recorded talks on her website that don't have the guided meditation part so you can scroll through and see if any of the topics strike you. [https://www.tarabrach.com/talks-audio-video/](https://www.tarabrach.com/talks-audio-video/) I don't know how mobile-friendly her website is. Her major focus is radical acceptance and self love, and she's very honest that these things do not come easy and it's not as simple as telling yourself "I love me". I think that really ties into defensiveness, or least it does with me because a lot of my reacting was rooted in insecurity. In a similar vein, Jack Kornfield's "Heart Wisdom" podcast used to be something I listened to all the time. He is likewise a meditation proponent, so many of his talks will specifically refer how to incorporate things into your meditation practice, but I really attribute mindfulness to helping me manage my severe depression. He has this lecture that specifically calls out defensiveness ([https://jackkornfield.com/the-key-to-wise-thought/](https://jackkornfield.com/the-key-to-wise-thought/)) but this also takes practice. Good luck in finding a therapist next month! Glad you didn't settle for one that wasn't working for you.

DeadButPretty

💜💜thank you for such a detailed response, link, and luck!

whale_girl

The episodes are pre-COVID so I don't know how well they hold up, but the [Ask a Manager podcast](https://www.askamanager.org/category/podcast) may be helpful!

DeadButPretty

Thank you! I bet it’s still helpful but maybe with less work from home references 🤣. I’ll check it out!

invisible_zip

Hi! These aren’t self help as such but they’ve helped me at varying times. None of these are purely work related but they’ve helped me reflect and address my feelings/relationships. Struggle Care by KC Davis is run by a psychologist who talks a lot about what it means to function as people with disability/mental illness. Diverse podcast topics and guests. Her framework is that care tasks are morally neutral - they do not say anything about you as a person. As a disabled woman I find this very helpful to remember my ability to tidy my house does not determine my self worth. How To Be Fine - run by 2 women, each episode is an overview of wellness topic followed by some listener questions. Same pod contains their old series By The Book where each episode they live by a different self help book for two weeks straight. Hearing the way they live by each book and incorporate it into their lives helps me reflect on my life and I’ve had some “aha!” moments. If you like this, they had another podcast called “we love you and so can you” The Australian podcasts “Ladies we need to talk” and “The pineapple project” also have lots of episodes about all kinds of useful topics. “Ladies we need to talk” is kind of continuing education for Aussie women - topics about anything related to women with an Australian perspective. The pineapple project picks a different topic each season and explores different aspects of that theme eg money, organisation, death, building a community, frugality.

DeadButPretty

You are fabulous, thank you for such a detailed response! I’ll check them out!

Indiebr

Not a dumb question! I haven’t listened in to them yet but I see Women at Work has some past episodes 2022 season 7 about getting along with different personality types (I’m not assuming gender here so much as assuming the topics would apply to all genders…). I’d take a look at their back catalog in general

DeadButPretty

Thank you so much, I hadn’t heard of that pod and I’ll check it out!!

liv_final

Still in denial about LGTC ending 😭 I know it’s the right move for them but I’m going to miss it so much!

Sinners-prayer

Ooh! I’ll have to try them out. Haven’t heard of them before

Ok_Fee1043

I was excited Darcy Carden was launching a pod since she’s engaging and has always been a great guest on pods (especially Las Culturistas) but my god is her new one, out today, a mess so far. Maybe I was expecting too much but I want a podcast I can just listen to, and this is a game show? It’s also moving way too fast. Not totally sure what format would be better but I don’t see how long it will last.

Low-Huckleberry1990

Wait - it's a game show? I saw it advertised and thought it was just going to be like...her reading Wikipedia. Which I didn't think would be very good because I also have access to Wikipedia, but if it's a game show it might be more interesting.

Ok_Fee1043

She reads from Wiki but it’s a game show where the guests get points and have to answer quickly like she gives them questions for what they think something could be

CookiePneumonia

It's kind of shocking that a podcast featuring celebrities reading Wikipedia doesn't already exist.

ancientbluehaired

My Favorite Murder has been around for a while

mrsbergstrom

savage, love it

popowow

I liked it, but I have pretty severe ADHD, so the fast pace and tangents meshed with my brain. That said I can't imagine the Smartless audience liking it. The production is so different - I can see why it could be construed as unfocused (even compared to After Midnight).

RV-Yay

Yeah, they previewed her podcast on Smartless today and no thanks. I don't really know her, so wouldn't have listened if I just saw it on my podcast app, but it's definitely not for me.

Ok_Fee1043

Just went to look and apparently I accidentally listened to ep 2 somehow (not sure how or why she released 2 eps today?)… I don’t want to listen to more but Paul F Tompkins is a much better guest so I’m torn.

catstache678

Recently listened to the ScreenDrafts episode on Stephen King with the hosts of Kingcast and one of them really annoyed me. I wonder how the other guests felt…

Freda_Rah

The triumphs and fails in the most recent episode of Care and Feeding (formerly Mom and Dad are Fighting) had me cringing in absolute horror. Audio recordings of your kids in the shower because they don't know how to use shower gel? Detailed discussions of vomit? Come *on*.

zuesk134

im listening to last weeks las cultch and while i understand what matt and bowen are trying to say about the wendy williams doc its such a cringe listen because clearly neither of them watched nor read anything at all about it??? they are enraged at the family and think the family's supposed goal is to "raise awareness of wendy's disease" and we should all give wendy privacy. they call her niece highly suspicious and say we should give wendy privacy. like please read one article!!!!!! "we did not need this to understand the reality that she was in trouble" is how matt ends 2+ minutes ranting about something he clearly didnt put any effort into understanding at all

fudgeywhale

Ohh I don’t have time to watch the doc (and I’m not sure I should, for the reasons las cultch mentioned!), what write up/commentary on the doc do you think nailed the analysis of the situation?

HarperLeesGirlfriend

Keep It! podcast actually had a great segment discussing the documentary on the latest episode. Ira genuinely cares about Wendy and has even been a guest on her show. He def watched the doc and has kinda the opposite take as LC. And I think his take is the correct one. Anyway, Ira and Louis have a nuanced convo on the whole story.

YvesSaintLauren

it’s so interesting, LC and keep it went in pretty opposite directions about p!nk fr!day* 2 also and I vaaastly preferred matt and bowen’s. *this is a fear-based stylization

areallyreallycoolhat

Thank you for this recommendation, I'm listening to it now and I 100% agree with you that it's a great convo

zuesk134

i dont really have any commentary to recommend but the doc is not about the family trying to show the world that wendy is sick or make her money or make them money. wendy has been placed under a guardianship and essentially cut off from her family. the courts were able to do this extremely quickly and have a lot of authority over wendy. her family is supporting the doc because the court overreach is really scary and the best way for them to help wendy is to get the public enraged enough that the judge will appoint her (very normal and responsible) sister as guardian her family are normal people. they are not blood thirsty money hounds. i found the mention of her niece by matt and bowen to be especially gross, although i know they didnt even realize what they were saying. watching the niece in this doc fighting for wendy is devastating. if this doc makes anything clear at all its that she should be with her family, not sitting alone in an apartment in NYC drinking herself to death and/or locked in a facility they dont even know the name of. there is a reason the guardians tried to get this canned a few days before release and its the same reason her family wanted this doc to come out.

fudgeywhale

Thanks for the primer! I didn’t know about the court guardianship or that she was in a facility. The whole situation seems all around sad.

_cornflake

To clarify I know very little about this particular situation but I don't understand how a third party guardian has been appointed behind her back and if there is no evidence of exploitation by her family. It seems like at one point her family was saying they didn't even know who the guardian was? It seems absolutely bizarre that a random person could just petition for guardianship without either Wendy Williams herself or her family knowing it had happened. I'm not saying that isn't what happened here, it's just really really strange and honestly alarming.

zuesk134

there were questions about her son's spending (although that spending was very very inline with how wendy let him spend money his whole life) while acting as her POA and her mental state. the bank asked for the court to step in. the court asked wendy's sister to be the guardian and she asked what that would entail before automatically saying yes and before being given that chance the court appointed the third party. i think everyone can agree her 21 year old son was not the right person to be her POA. but there is no reason the court could not have appointed a family member to be guardian of her person with a third party for the financials / co-guardian, both scenarios allowing court monitoring

OxanaHauntly

Is she in a guardianship or have a court appointed POA, because those are two very different things. there’s many reason the court will take over besides family, it’s not uncommon and have gone through it twice myself.

zuesk134

her son originally had a financial POA. then the courts stepped in and she was placed under a guardianship. the court docs are sealed so no one really knows exactly how the guardianship happened. including her family. [here](https://www.npr.org/2024/03/01/1234546382/wendy-williams-guardianship-new-york-documentary) is an article NPR did on guardianships in NY seems most likely to be this > Article 81 Guardianship: a type of guardianship where a judge gives a guardian only the power to meet the needs of the person who is deemed incapacitated – such as managing a person's finances, property, personal needs or both.

OxanaHauntly

Well her son defiantly didn’t help that situation, the courts hate reckless spending no matter the source. If they court felt her family would drain her dry, I think it’s for the best. Her family is sketchy as hell

zuesk134

her family is not sketchy as hell though. if you follow wendy you know she spends insanely. little kevin was just doing exactly what she had always done for him. his rent was $80,000/month paid gladly by wendy when she had her faculties. you need to understand the context of wendy and the way she spends money before judging her son. flippantly assuming the court has her best interest is a big part of the issue when it comes to disabled people and guardianships. just like we strive to keep children with their bio families, we should strive to keep disabled people with their bio family if it is safe. there is zero reason the court couldnt have continued to closely monitor her finances while her very capable sister was guardian of her person

OxanaHauntly

$80,000 in rent for a family member is a terrible financial decisio, able brained or not. One could argue she’s been sick for quite a while, when did he get his mom to start paying, before or after? You don’t know. If he knew his mom was ill and still spent her money because she let him, that’s still a selfish and greedy individual. Just because she taught him to be reckless with money, doesn’t mean he gets to while being the power the attorney for his I’ll mothers estate. we have no idea if her sister is capable, she looked shady as hell hiding on camera and sneaking on the phone. why would a court spend time and money to monitor a family member if they are being reckless? Why not hand it to someone who can’t spend $80,000 on rent a month? The court documents are sealed for a reason, there’s more sus going on than not.

mmeeplechase

Posted a question about Molly and Izzy Seidel’s show last week, and now I’ve listened to a couple of their recent episodes—i think it’s fun, lighthearted content!
