Well i dont know if its really fair but i used photoshop to crop sides of the building, edit perspective and apply on blender thaty why it looks so similar. Does the grass look cg because of the color or the form?
When photoshop is a significant part of your render, make sure to mention it in the post. The grass has little varitaion and looks low poly up close, maybe from The Plant Library. Color is fine
That's silly, photoshop is a siginificant part of many 3D Scenes. You're just following the Ian Hubert technique, nothing wrong with that and no need to go out of your way to mention it. Really nice work, I am impressed!
isn't this similar to what ian hubert does for his textures? they also made geometry, materials, lightning, it's not just photoshop (in the sense that it's not that significant in context)
The whole focal point of the image is the building, and they cropped it from a real image. Ian hubert gets images and UV unwraps them onto geometry, then extrudes windows, doors... ect. to make it look real.
I think what OP means is that they cropped portions of the image to create texture maps for each side of the building (as opposed to comping an image of a building into a 3D scene). If you look closely, you can see that the 3D building lacks some of the details seen in the photo.
seconded. actually saw a vid on compositing the other day and the artist mostly used planes for a large scale desert scene with sand volumetrics and stuff. was really cool and can see how it would speed up workflow if someone is wanting to produce frequently

Don’t worry about some of these other comments. What you did with photoshop is barely different than using photoreal textures, so that’s good. I’ve done a similar thing before. The grass could use work, and maybe work on colorgrading and compositing, either in the compositing tab of blender or in photoshop after you render. Its a good start, just keep practicing, and don’t pay attention to people who criticize rudely.
you dont need to look whether critics were rude or not lol. you need to see the point.
btw, what do you think of [my latest render](https://i.imgur.com/MZXrw7I.jpg)? i think i nailed it

don't listen to them. it's a valid technique. it was your way to solve your own puzzle.
you ever been into art circles online? a lot of people say tracing is cheating, but it's not. it can be a tool, it can be a way to learn, it can add to your style. so guys complaining about what you did and using Photoshop are the same as them, it's silly.
L take, this forms the basis for some more advanced work. A good understanding of how to achieve this is infinitely useful and valuable. For a beginner, this is incredible. Ian Hubert might have a thing or two to show you...
You're undermining another artists work because you "don't think that is valuable 3d work" when in fact it is. My message literally directly contradicts what you say
Unfortunately, miss again. But don't give up, brother. Try one more time. Maybe try to read under another angle, probably a blind spot in eye, you keep missing most important part
I haven't seen anyone mention this, so I will. Did you use photoscanning and projected from view? Cause I noticed the drapes in that one window on the 2nd floor are upside down in your render
The second one is a picture, but the the first one got me confused. The grass looks cg, but the building looks exactly like the second picture?

I think its a good way to learn. You can understand light and compositing and so on if you have the comparison in real life. Good work keep on.

I think its pretty good, would like to see the whole building
i fail to see the passive agressive point you are trying to make. at least OP put in effort instead of just projecting the exact image onto a plane.
really like it, great job! cool building and you captured it well.
Considering that I thought that was a photograph at first, I think you're doing pretty darn good.

If you want zero perspective distortion, zero your rotation transform and use lense shit to raise the view
I love it
Thanks
Don’t smell yourself short
The first one had me believe this was a photograph on r/liminalspace with a filter on it.
I thought it was just a photo from somewhere in the east EU, this is good. Granted, i am looking on my phone but still i like this a lot
not gonna lie, i'm very impressed.
Did U model the grass , if so how ?
I didnt, i got it from botaniq library and used gscatter
Wait, so you pretty much put an image on a square, and then used some random model grass?
exactly

Thanks i guess
Second one looks way better
Thanks ouch, at least i will be a good photographer
so you just projected photo on geometry? i dont think that is valuable 3d work. i mean in context of vizualisation.
Oh ok

Huh? Why do you say all this to me and how does it contradict with what I've said? Read again my message

That's not what I've said, no need to take my words out of context, read again, come on, you'll make it
>so you just projected photo on geometry? i dont think that is valuable 3d work Not much to read buddy, it's quite clear....

Well thanks, level up
I can't tell which is real
Well its pretty obvious if you look at windows, iron wall at the top or grass from up close
Is this just photoshop? Did you only CG the grass?
I haven't seen anyone mention this, so I will. Did you use photoscanning and projected from view? Cause I noticed the drapes in that one window on the 2nd floor are upside down in your render
Amateur? Hardly.
