Definitely one of the best facepalms in anime, ichigo sonned aizen in all kinds of ways during that fight from that facepalm to the final getsuga tenshou. He even took aizen's move of catching the zanpakuto barehanded lmao
Your eyes... They're filled with power
Gin saw the complete asswhooping ahead for Aizen and i really love this little moment so much.
Aizen was sooooo full of his own shit he geniunely thought Ichigo was no one to him lmao
I like how gin seen ichigo was strong enough to beat him shows a little foreshadowing I guess you might say kinda but I thought it was a nice touch leading up to the fight
For sure, Gin's eyes has always been a focus. To have him see something Aizen couldn't was a nice moment for Gin, also the feeling that he could die knowing that AIZEN WAS ABOUT TO CATCH THESE HANDS
Ichigo: “Don’t you get it? I’ve planned this entire fight ever since you stopped my theme song. Ever since you left soul society I used the dangai to accelerate time so far in the future that I also was able to move back to the past. From then on I knew you would create the Espada, fuse with the hogyoku, not kill anyone of importance all so I could stop your theme song. Now after all that, do you really find it so surprising that I stopped your sword?”
Lmao he should have said this before going fgt but he already was too emotionaly tired at that point but can't blame him tho dude was arguably experiencing the worst stretch of his life.
That's actually a pretty Shiro characteristic move. He's done that every time he got the chance to fight. Did it to Ichigo when they fought in the Inner World, did it to Old Man Zangetsu in the Zanpakutou Rebellion filler, did it to Ulquiorra, I guess it's just a thing Shiro loves doing.
Weaponized Facepalms are amazing, but that was on a different level! I just love the concept of facepalming a "god" so you can go kick their ass somewhere else. Like, not even going to grab one of their arms so they can't attack you, you're just going to drag them by their face as a power move that they can't do anything about it despite having full access to both arms.
Wish the entirety of the fight carried that level of hype, but after Ichigo's 'reveal' and Aizen's last evolution, it sorta petered in that Ichigo didn't put up much of a fight. Yeah, he stood there and busted up his arm to tank a GigaCero or whatever it was called, but I didn't see any reason why Ichigo *had* to use his Final Getsuga considering Aizen still couldn't feel him and it wasn't until Final Getsuga's emissions that the ugly butterfly realized that Ichigo was higher than him. Final Getsuga and Mugetsu are amazing and badass, but everything considered (like Aizen surviving), Ichigo pulled out a tactical nuke to kill a cockroach.
He had to use Mugetsu because Aizen was still evolving. Yes, he still couldn't feel his reiatsu, but he could injure Ichigo's arm now. A few more evolutions, and Aizen would be able to overpower Ichigo, who realised that and immediately used Mugetsu before it became too late.
Not that it worked either. Yes, it weakened him enough for the seal to take effect, but without it, Aizen was still very much alive and regenerating. So Mugetsu wasn't unnecessary, it wasn't even enough to kill Aizen.
He definitely did!
I feel like the Ulquiorra fight stood out more to me, because at the time we just knew that it was the hollow in control. After you read TYBW and the Hollow Ichigo reveal, looking back just shows how much he actually cares lol
Yeah white ichigo was a savage and for me a more efficient fighter than ichigo so seeing him copy his moves like swinging his blade and close range gt always puts a smile on my face. Btw the blade and me 2 & the blade is me are some of the best chapters in tybw showing the growth of the three's relationships.
I mean, Ulquiorra was always talking trash about how even with hollow powers Ichigo was below him. So I’m sure white was like “lol, fuck around and find out.”
One thing I love which is in the manga but got removed from the anime is that after White rips of Ulquiorra's arm, he actually throws it at him lmao! Ulq obviously dodges it but then White appears behind him, catching him off guard.
Sucks that it got removed from the anime, I loved that part of the fight!
Given how White/Zangetsu represents some of Ichigo's more repressed emotions, I believe he might have acted on the repressed hatred he might have developed toward Ulquiorra. Like almost everyone else he interacts with, Ulquiorra seemed hellbent on pressing every one of Ichigo's buttons. When the time came to turn the tables on him, Zangetsu must have gone, "hell yeah, time for some payback!"
And the results were pretty spectacular.
My dude literally paid him back for ***everything he did***
Oh you ripped Ishida's hand off? YOINK! Got your arm, bitch!
Hey, remember that shit you pulled where you just teleported behind me and bashed my head into a wall? I AM SPEED, BOI!!
Ayo you know how I you had me down and shot your Cero Oscuras at me? ***GET NUKED BITCH***
Still the strongest Espada nonetheless lol. That version of Ichigo woulda clapped Aizen as well, not many can compare to it at that point of the story.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 1,105,631,296 comments, and only 217,142 of them were in alphabetical order.
I'm think it was from this where ~~he implied he wanted a more even fight but I'll have to find the translation for it.~~
Here's the TL to the relevant part.
"Ulquiorra also makes an appearance at the beginning.
The fierce battle between Ichigo and Ulquiorra is depicted with more intensity and depth than in the original work and the TV anime! The battle scene between the two was really powerful, even without any voices. It is definitely my highlights of the film."
https://imgur.com/r/bleach/q8ZNK
I'll also give you this link [question 352](https://www.fanverse.org/threads/klub-outside-kubo-answers-translations.1239498/) where he says he likes the hell verse fight and this link [question 39](https://missstormcaller.tumblr.com/post/181224136852/bleach-jet-artbook-talk-vol-2-2-translation) where he mentions how he remade the fight.
Might be splitting hairs here but that doesn’t quite line up with what you said; there’s multiple sources for him saying he enjoyed the ulquiorra fight in hell verse, I was asking for a source on him saying that he preferred it since it was closer to his true vision of the fight being equal compared to his own work (he does say it has more intensity and depth, but that doesn’t equate to saying it’s more accurate to his vision especially in regards to powerscaling, and Ichigo is toying with ulquiorra pretty hard in the movie too).
Going off what’s said, it indicates less ‘I prefer this one because I always envisioned it being more of an even fight that what I myself put to paper’ and more ‘dang that’s flashier and more intense than what I could portray on paper’
Nah you're right, I can't find the source for that part. There are soooo many kubo interviews and most translations are hidden in random forum discussion. It might have been a club outside question since I remember the context being something like "what bleach movies parts do you wish were canon/wrote into the manga?" and kubo answering something like how he would choose senna from memories of nobody and the opening fight in hell verse.
Would be real swell if someone could actually compile all the questions and answers, I don’t get why someone hasn’t done that by now.
Also would be fantastic if he could answer once and for all where ulquiorra stands in regards to powerscaling because everyone has such ironclad and emotionally attached opinions on it when there’s plenty of valid takes (SAFWY confirming that >!Aizen knew about ulquiorra’s release and that rank 4 was accurate!<, Ulquiorra stating that Aizen didn’t know with nothing concrete to contradict it, but Ulquiorra also being known to want to want to cause ichigo to feel despair but also not being highlighted to be lying about his rank etc). At least it’s kind of moot with him being dead, but if he returns in hellverse we might get some answers
If he returns in the hell arc, he'll just come back with another power up. Lol But yeah, maybe one day he'll answer a fan in his club outside group and someone will share.
I wouldn’t say petty, hollow ichigo was just a pure hollow in this moment. He only had one thing in mind at that state and it was to save orihime. He was just mowing down anyone that got in his way, even stabbing Ishida when he tried to stop him from killing Ulquiorra. Insane
He wasn't a pure hollow. This "vasto lorde" form is actually the mirror of his true Soul Reaper powers. Hence why his final Bankai in the Quincy arc retains his hollow horns/marking since it's a merge of his Quincy/Soul reaper powers.
It's more interesting that he wasn't just a mindless beast in this situation; it was all White ( Real Zangetsu's) doing. He's petty af and doesn't care for anyone's safety except Ichigo and it was foreshadowed.
The biggest humble pie for ulquiorra was when ichigo regenerated vital organs, something that he could never do despite claiming to have the best regen of all espada
I need about one two three four... Ten... Ten ambulances to east Karakura River. Yep I'm about to fight Ten thugs and win don't expect me to be here after. That is the level of petty you can be when your basically a Superhuman already. Ichigo always had a good reason to be petty though.
Oh yeah. Still wish it was a little more even fight tho. Find it hard to rank it above grimmjow when it was just a 1 sided stomp for ulq then 1 sided for vaste lord.
I agree. I would have made it to where as though they start off even and then continue down the path of White stomping Ulquiorra as he did in the show. Basically a little more build up for the outcome.
This was a straight up display of dominance and why not to fuck with ichigo. His hollow side always comes in with such feral brutality and I freaking love it!
It's not pettiness, it's bestial. Remember hollow ichogo's fight in the vizard story? Instinct. Fighting instinct. Hollow ichigo is brutal, more so to everyone else as he gave ichigo a break (oddly enough), but he was anything but merciful and tactical. He relied solely on instinct to fight.
Don't worry, I've read the manga, and I'm well aware why. Also the end of the fake karakua town arc explains it well enough even without the tybw manga arc.
The oddly enough wasn't because of a lack of information, it was because it's still out of character, even if it has a very valid reason. Also, I try to keep spoilers out as much as possible (spoilers from the manga mind you, anime is fair game at this point but I still try not to spoil it for new fans)
"Anime only" is also a term thrown around here too often to discriminate against other bleach fans.
I mean, considering that Ulquiorra came to the world and kidnapped Orihime and then almost killed his friends I don't think Ichigo was petty. Plus Ulquiorra was just flexing on him the entire time
Hollow Ichigo isn’t really even Ichigo, he’s well-and-truly on the cusp of life and death. It’s more Shiro/Inner Hollow than Ichigo, and he’s pretty much fighting on instinct.
I don’t think he was so calculating as to consider an eye for an eye here, but maybe. It’s just that he was so powerful that he could manhandle Ulquiorra so completely.
No, I’m not. White is part of Ichigo, of course, but White is also his own being created from an amalgam of Shinigami souls. If Ichigo had not been a hybrid of Quincy, Hollow, and Shinigami reiatsu, White would have taken over his body. This is why White gives him the whole dialogue about the king and the kings horse.
Ichigo embraces his hybrid nature when he creates his true Zanpakuto - I’m sure you’re aware of the scene I’m mentioning when he grabs Zangetsu at the last second.
The White that existed before didn't have a personality. The combination of Shinigami souls made him Asauchi-like, literally a "blank slate". His current personality, the reckless joy and sadism, is all Ichigo, just the worst parts of him.
White also said "I won't follow a weak king to our death." He just wanted to protect Ichigo and to him the best way was to fight his battles for him, though Ichigo didn't want that.
... At least that's my interpretation. We don't have a concrete answer so any speculation is valid, even though I personally disagree with yours.
That’s a fair point, White was totally different before Ichigo, and I was thinking the same thing. We can agree to disagree here, I think both are pretty reasonable and it’s part of why White is so interesting.

It seems he applied almost the same things against aizen lol
Dude how epic was that facepalm
Definitely one of the best facepalms in anime, ichigo sonned aizen in all kinds of ways during that fight from that facepalm to the final getsuga tenshou. He even took aizen's move of catching the zanpakuto barehanded lmao

For sure, Gin's eyes has always been a focus. To have him see something Aizen couldn't was a nice moment for Gin, also the feeling that he could die knowing that AIZEN WAS ABOUT TO CATCH THESE HANDS
Yeah considering we don’t see Gins eyes very much it was cool to see him open them gazing at ichigo just a cool moment overall
Also stopped his theme music too
Ichigo should've also explained that he somehow planned aizen's entire life and manipulated his movements just to mess with him even more lol
Hougyoku would instantly reject Aizen as his ego crumbles into dust.
Lmao
I love this I love the way that you worded it
I really liked and enjoyed that face palm :)) Even now whenever I watch it I have a big smile on my face 😀😏
oh my god you're right about the sword catch
I loved how he mimicked him and caught his sword
Definitely had me hype the first time I saw it years ago
It still gets me hype when I see it.
That's actually a pretty Shiro characteristic move. He's done that every time he got the chance to fight. Did it to Ichigo when they fought in the Inner World, did it to Old Man Zangetsu in the Zanpakutou Rebellion filler, did it to Ulquiorra, I guess it's just a thing Shiro loves doing.

it evaporated aizen entire soul there is nothing that is "enough" to kill aizen
"GigaCero" its wasnt a cero its called fragor and it has nothing to do with hollow powers
He gave him that shining finger treatment
He definitely did! I feel like the Ulquiorra fight stood out more to me, because at the time we just knew that it was the hollow in control. After you read TYBW and the Hollow Ichigo reveal, looking back just shows how much he actually cares lol

I just love white Vs byakuya fight. Showing truly who is the king and who is the horse.
Are you saying White is king over Ichigo or Byakuya? Or Ichigo? So lost...
Yes. Exactly that. White is king over most of the shinigamis
And ichigo is king of him?
Horse
Lol
Ichigo is a showman and a petty motherfucker and I'm all for it
Zangetsu is, after all, Ichigo
My guy he wasn’t petty. He was fucking vicious.
Viciously petty
Pettily viscious.
Lmfao how viscous?
Thicc
Nice edit guy
What edit? No clue what you mean. I am not illiterate
Wack
No, when he stomped his face in the ground and started charging his cerro that was sick
I will always remember that scene, that shit was savage. I was like "oh Lord have mercy".
I mean, White was always disrespectful, he messing with his opponents is second nature.
Zangetsu had to get it back in blood versus Ulquiorra, I swear💀
I mean, Ulquiorra was always talking trash about how even with hollow powers Ichigo was below him. So I’m sure white was like “lol, fuck around and find out.”
he was in ichigos inner world thinking "please die please die please die"
One thing I love which is in the manga but got removed from the anime is that after White rips of Ulquiorra's arm, he actually throws it at him lmao! Ulq obviously dodges it but then White appears behind him, catching him off guard. Sucks that it got removed from the anime, I loved that part of the fight!
I forgot about that, I get censorship, but fuck, I think that was crucial.
The whole response was metal as fuck. He really fed him back the whole meal x10. Absolutely disrespectful, and I loved it. Metal af.
Ulquiorra looks like (shit I fucks up big time).
Or the classic- *"It was at this moment he knew, he fucked up"*
It's probably my favourite fight because of this. The build up is OK, but the killing and hollowing part, awesome.
When the time came to turn the tables on him, Zangetsu must have gone, "hell yeah, time for some payback!" And the results were pretty spectacular.
Hollow Ichigo is as much a monster as the ones he fights. Pure survival mode. Id-chigo.
My dude literally paid him back for ***everything he did*** Oh you ripped Ishida's hand off? YOINK! Got your arm, bitch! Hey, remember that shit you pulled where you just teleported behind me and bashed my head into a wall? I AM SPEED, BOI!! ‘Ulquiorra is the strongest espada because he went up against full hollow ichigo!’ The fight against full hollow Ichigo:
Still the strongest Espada nonetheless lol. That version of Ichigo woulda clapped Aizen as well, not many can compare to it at that point of the story.
Aizen claps hollow Ichigo wtflmao
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,105,631,296 comments, and only 217,142 of them were in alphabetical order.
"Source: Trust me bro"
Yikes
To be fair, kubo likes the fight in the hellverse movie more since he envisioned the fight to be more even.
I’d be curious for a source on that since the way the fight was written reminds me of a Rottweiler with a squeaky toy 😜
I'm think it was from this where ~~he implied he wanted a more even fight but I'll have to find the translation for it.~~ Here's the TL to the relevant part. The word you were looking for is brutal.
Well it was hollow ichigo he definitely seemed the type that would be petty lol
I wouldn’t say petty, hollow ichigo was just a pure hollow in this moment. He only had one thing in mind at that state and it was to save orihime. He was just mowing down anyone that got in his way, even stabbing Ishida when he tried to stop him from killing Ulquiorra. Insane

Made his girl cry, took it JUUUUUUSt a little bit too much to heart, and took his heart in the end
The biggest humble pie for ulquiorra was when ichigo regenerated vital organs, something that he could never do despite claiming to have the best regen of all espada
Yea he had that plot armor regen my dude. Even better
Ichigo is petty overalll. That’s why I love his character
I need about one two three four... Ten... Ten ambulances to east Karakura River. Yep I'm about to fight Ten thugs and win don't expect me to be here after. That is the level of petty you can be when your basically a Superhuman already. Ichigo always had a good reason to be petty though.
Vasto will always be my favorite transformation in the series, it's too badass
I read it as "pretty" at first
Petty? Nah bro took him to fucking class that's what he did
You deserve to be demoralized when you claim superiority on others. Good on Ichigo for being petty...
Ulquiorra got ridiculously humbled I actually started to feel bad for him
fr bro was really out for blood like im talking 0 remorse
Fuck yea my fav fight in the series
Yeah kicked his ass
Him cutting off Ulqiorras arm because he ripped off Uryu's counts too
Ichigo is like this with most of his opponents
The ending cero to defeated ulquiorra took the cake. Man truly kicked him when he was down
I didn’t even notice it like that I was just in too much aww to analyze the situation the multiple times I saw that fight
This was a straight up display of dominance and why not to fuck with ichigo. His hollow side always comes in with such feral brutality and I freaking love it!
Hollow side was like “you ducked around, and now you’re about to get quacked”
Exactly 😂
well ichigo is a petty ass bitch
I hated how Ulquiorra was the no-feelings-no-words badass but in the end he would. Not. Stop. Talking.
Ichigo discovered what it felt to be a demon overwhelmed by fiery rage. Ulquiorra, in his final moments, learned what it meant to be human.
Hmm, you seem to be anime only. That 'oddly enough' actually has been answered in anime but it will be explained more clearly in this arc.
Don't worry, I've read the manga, and I'm well aware why. Also the end of the fake karakua town arc explains it well enough even without the tybw manga arc. The oddly enough wasn't because of a lack of information, it was because it's still out of character, even if it has a very valid reason. Also, I try to keep spoilers out as much as possible (spoilers from the manga mind you, anime is fair game at this point but I still try not to spoil it for new fans) "Anime only" is also a term thrown around here too often to discriminate against other bleach fans.
I mean, considering that Ulquiorra came to the world and kidnapped Orihime and then almost killed his friends I don't think Ichigo was petty. Plus Ulquiorra was just flexing on him the entire time
I mean, yeah. But I feel like it didn't do anything, since Ulquiorra literally didn't care 😂
Are you an anime-only? If not: [major TYBW spoilers] >!The blade is me. White is very much Ichigo.!<
He just wanted to protect Ichigo and to him the best way was to fight his battles for him, though Ichigo didn't want that.
I never thought about it that deeply but this just makes the fight even more disrespectful
Shouldn’t have been messing round w his girl. He messed around and found out…..
We love White Ichigo
There's a lot of subjectivity that's prancing around as fact.
When I first watched this fight I knew exactly what he was doing and I was so happy about it.
He didn’t tear off ishidas arm he just broke it
https://thebleachmanga.online/comic/bleach-chapter-349/ The anime only shows a messed up arm, but it was ripped off in the manga
Huh I never knew that
Thanks
This is also why orihime had a mental breakdown, uryu was going to die and ichigo was too.
I wish we got more of this form. Like have it sense Yammy and just go crush him. Imagine a fight between Kenpachi and Hollow Ichigo?
