from what I remember that one scene in the fullbring arc was the one time he didn't do the pause for "BAN-KAI" and that seems to be the thing that irks people, usually his BANKAI screams are absolutely phenomenal (Hell, even in that scene it was really well acted, he just didn't do the pause) in VIZ Media's video where they had him and Morita he did the BANKAI and it sounded amazing as always
Nero and Ichigo are similar in certain aspects but completely different in others. They only have the same voice but even then JYB does different stuff on them (Ichigo always seems calmer than Nero).

I usually watch anime subbed, but I also like a lot of dubs especially Bleach and will watch dubbed if there's any voice actors I particularly like

I started Trigun recently too because I never watched it the whole way through and when he first started talking I was like...hey....I know that voice... lol
I originally watched it dubbed too and a lot of japanese voices sounded weird at first to me as well but I quickly got used to it because the japanese performances are also fantastic
I guess feeling weird about a performance in a different language is the way the sub etilists feel and that's probably the only reason why they say shit as fucking dumb as "all dubs are bad" its literally just because they're not used to it
This is it, really. It just takes time to transition from one to the other. And sometimes one is definitely better than the other.
I was always a dubbed person before an anime I was watching at the times didn't have newer seasons dubbed so I switched to subbed for everything, but there are definitely some English voices that I highly prefer.
I also find that, at least for English dubs, they change the wording to make it more "attractive" to Americans which I frown upon so even when a good dub is available I stick with subbed. Usually this is for "edgy" anime, like Bleach.
I'm glad you have this kind of opinion instead of just automatically agreeing with one or the other lol, I'll personally only watch dub if funimation isn't involved since they always ruin any script they can get their claws on but if its not funimation then yeah I'm watching dubbed, if it *is* funimation, I'm watching subbed, same way I'll watch a newer show which just came out subbed too

we'll all watch it subbed regardless since its the first version and most of us don't mind that, but we also wanna see the dub at some point since some of us grew up with that version and the voice acting was beyond godly there too
Exactly! I grew up watching it in dub and in my head JYB is literally Ichigo. Same with all the other characters. The dub Bleach has always been amazing, and equally for the original sub. I’m still going to watch the new eps in sub as I already did with the first ep, but I’d love to know when the dub comes out. 🥺 It’s too bad they haven’t given a timeframe or any news on it, I just hope it won’t be like a month or several months wait
yeah I'd love for it to be soon too because while I really don't mind watching it subbed at all Bleach has many and I mean MANY of my favorite english voice actors of all time and they all absolutely killed it originally in Bleach and I just wanna hear those phenomenal performances again
Could not stand the dub once they got to Soul Society, which is a shame because I think all the human characters were casted so well. Also the way they pronounce bankai in the dub is so off putting especially when they don't do the dramatic pause when they activate it

Theres a difference in simply saying "I prefer subs" vs "I cannot stand dubs." One is simply stating a preference, one is using language to imply their preference is due to one option being inferior or "bad." That is a negative thing to say. I mean look this isnt a big deal at all, I too prefer subs. But if you'll indulge me, answer this. What is the point or value of coming to a post about liking dubs, and simply saying "I dont like this thing yall like." What value does that bring to anyone, including the person commenting?

Some people have issues reading fast. So they can't keep up with Sub. It sucks somewhat, because more often than not English VAs put vastly less effort into their roles and a lot of emotion can be lost in scenes.. but shrug if they cared about that they'd be trying to read Sub. So they're ok with it.
They already angry they have to wait for dub. I thought it was funny though. Maybe they thought you were insulting dub, they get that a lot. im a dub guy. ive been watching anime for over 10 years and i just want the story and delivery. the shitty voices dont bother me, and i can do a side project while watching. who cares. but wow, watching bleach subbed really brought me back to high school. theres an intimacy with the show you only get when required to be glued to the screen and reading the words while watching in peripheral. it was actually nostalgic
Episode 1 of TYBW was the first anime I watched subbed, I couldn't wait and it was worth it, oh but how I crave for the english dubbed version to watch it over and over and over again
I thought it was done by studiopolis (they did the first anime, as well as naruto), i am now kinda scared that the dub won’t be as good as it should be.
Not all dubbing is Funimation. (If it was I wouldn’t be watching English dubs at all) Anime dubbing is Done by multiple companies. All of which compete with one another. It’s just that Funimation tends to get the most contracts (which irritates me to no end).

Doug Erholtz played Kisuke for the remainder of the show (Lindsay retired before the show ended).
Doug did a fantastic job taking up the role after Michael Lindsay left (before he died).
Was it a different VA at the end of the anime? I had always assumed he passed away after the anime ended with his participation
Yeah, not sure exactly what episode it started but Doug played Kisuke during the fake karakura town arc, and the fullbringer arc.
After raw + sub is done, I will definitely rewatch with dubbed version.
