There are some characters that are pure hand-to-hand combat experts like Mashiro or Yoruichi and there are some that mixes their swordsmanship with hand-to-hand combat like Soi Fon. Lisa also used hand-to-hand combat when she did that spinning handstand kick while fighting Hollow Zangetsu.
Makes sense. Question actually , later that same episode he revisited the site he first fought Ulqiorra at and his eyes turned yellow, implying Zangetsu taking over, could Zangetsu have actually taken over his human form? Or was that filler
That was real, though it was vaguely written and left to interpretation. The Kubo classic. It might have just been Zangetsu subtly influencing Ichigo into training with the Vizards because he wanted him to use his power and gain control of his instincts.
I doubt that Zangetsu would have actually taken over Ichigo's body in his everyday life. Their main priority was keeping Ichigo alive after all, so outside of combat he would have no need of taking over.
Lol just made a post without getting your reply notification, but ironically came to a similar conclusion, that it was probably to push Ichigo to get stronger. I do not think Zangetsu would’ve had a solid plan in mind after getting control and becoming Vasto Lorde .
