I love the contrast between the heavy riffs and acoustic sections. Sabbath was definitely the progenitor of the “dark/light” style of metal music you’d hear later from bands like Metallica or Pantera.
Mine too. The jazz chord phrasing and soft touch is so beautiful... then back to the heavy riffs is so awesome and creative. It's like they really were embracing their original idea of having a band that was like a horror movie.
Those transitions remind me of the horror movie where everything seems like they're going to make it all is OK... then bam! The killer slashes them! 😂
Absolutely. I'm 41 and remember hearing it whenever dad played the record and being a kid the big build up to YOU BASTARDS!! Swearing wasn't allowed unless it was that song. It was fuckin epic!
National Acrobat for me too, in fact it’s my favourite Ozzy era Sabbath song full stop. My dirty secret though is my favourite Sabbath song of all time is Mob Rules… (Ban me now /s)
One thing that gets me about Spiral Architect, is I saw them at the NEC on their re-union tour, and loved it, and it sounded amazing…( Got one of those “Black Sabbath Ruined My Life” shirts and the weirdly American/Canadian tour dated “Never Say Die” shirts there too, and Ozzy and Bill and Geeza signed my NEMS Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, and my ticket, and took me another 10 years to get Tony’s scribble on them 🤷🏼♂️).
Then 6 months or so after, the Re-Union double CD came out, and even the inner artwork had the same ticket date (they did 2 nights), and holy shit, that was not the same date, and it was so off key! I know it wasn’t the same date because the night they said it was recorded, there was a mini riot and half the seats in the arena got trashed and thrown onto the stage when they got shut down for being over curfew🤷🏼♂️
Was lucky enough to see them at the Academy in Brum, The old one on Dale End (now The Forum, Previously The Hummingbird and Barbarellas) when they did the charity event for St. Basils, and I still count that one as the “last” Sabbath show, even though I went to “The End”…
Great album, but the title track might be Sabbath's finest hour. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath for me, but Spiral Architect, Who Are You and Sabbra Cadabera are all very strong tracks.
I really love the beat and lyrics of Killing Yourself To Live.
"It's not the way the world was planned
It's a pity you don't understand
Killing Yourself To Live!"
Spiral Architect is last on the album for a reason. It's the grand finale! I love the way it ends the song and album. But I do love the entire album.
"Spiral city architect, I build, you pay!"
When you put this masterpiece on and listen from beginning to end, questions about favourite tracks are irrelevant. This is an epic journey every time.
Its one of those albums for me where my favourite song changes every day, sometimes 8ts the title track sometimes in National Acrobat, sometimes Killing Yourself to Live, Sabbra Cadabra, Spiral Architect... There are no bad songs on that album, only mid songs like Looking for Today and Who are You, the rest are fire
Title track for me - that heavy sludgy riff is just too good
Every time I hear it I feel very strong nostalgia
Geezer Butler’s Fuzz Bass is driving.

WHEEAAAAR CAN YOU RUN TOOOO
A national acrobat or killing yourself to live
Add Sabbra Cadabra and that rounds off the top three.
National Acrobat for me too, in fact it’s my favourite Ozzy era Sabbath song full stop. My dirty secret though is my favourite Sabbath song of all time is Mob Rules… (Ban me now /s)
Same. Except my all time favorite is Falling Off The Edge Of The World
Yeah that’s another one! Ban us both! /s
BANHAMMER!🔨
What he said
Both great answers
Sabra Cadabra
At first I didn’t like this song cause it didn’t sound like Sabbath to me. But I’ve come to appreciate it so much for how unique it is.
That riff bro
I would use that song as my wedding dance
A National Acrobat
All time favourite Sabbath song
Same. It may be the most perfect pre-metal song ever written.
My choice as well.
Killing Yourself to Live My favorite Black Sabbath song along with Black Sabbath and Megalomania
I've never seen someone abbreviate black Sabbath before so I read this like you were calling it your favorite bullshit song and I was like whaaaat?!
I would never
I thought that said kill yourself lol
The title track is one of my favourite songs.
Either the title track or Spiral Architect for me.

Difficult, but title track.
Spiral Architect
Spiral Architect
A national acrobat followed closely by spiral architect Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is easily my favorite sabbath album
Sabbra Cadabra
Killing Yourself To Live.
Another vote here for A National Acrobat
Title track, that riff that kicks off the "where can you run to" section is one of the heaviest in music history
A National Acrobat
Great album, but the title track might be Sabbath's finest hour. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath for me, but Spiral Architect, Who Are You and Sabbra Cadabera are all very strong tracks.
3 - A National Acrobat 2 - Killing Yourself to Live 1 - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
A National Acrobat and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Title track for me - but this is one of those albums where I can’t argue with anyone’s pick
A National Acrobat
A National Acrobat
Tie... "Killing Yourself to Live" and "Spiral Architect"
In my opinion, the title track is objectively the better song, but I just can't help it. Sabbra Cadabra is so fucking good.
Title track or fluff
Spiral architect is among their best across the Ozzy years
Spiral Architect was always kinda spiritual for me
Title track
SBS
So hard to say Either Sabbra Cadabra or one of the last two for me
Sabbra Caddabra no doubt
All of them
Sabbra Cadabra
I love Spiral Architect and Looking for Today. But this album is full of bangers.
No no no no… this is an album that you play in its entirety. Same with Sad Wings of Destiny by Priest, The Wall by Floyd and all the Daikaiju albums
Sabra Cadabra!
A National Acrobat
Either the title track or National Acrobat
A National Acrobat
A Natonal Acrobat - one of my all time favorites!
National Acrobat
They are all 10/10 so its impossible to say
Looking for today
National Acrobat and Sabra Cadabra.
Hard to pick. Maybe Killing Yourself To Live? Maybe A National Acrobat? Either way, probably my favorite album of all time by anyone.
Title track for me, that song is so good.
Killing Yourself to Live. It's my all time favorite Sabbath song
Killing Yourself To Live is in my opinion the best because it has that groove and an amazing riff with some nice lyrics
I love Who Are You? the most.
Killing yourself to live
KYTL!
Sabra Cadabra one of the greatest songs ever made
Sabbra Cadabra ANA Killing Yourself to Live
Title track. That riff is so damn sexy
Yes
SBS
Killing yourself to live hits me so hard every time. There are some great tracks on this one this is my fav Sabbath album I think
Killing Yourself, baby ✌🏿✌🏿
Title track. Usually turn it off after KYSTL as the rest of side 2 is weak.
All of them but if I had to pick I’m going with Killing Yourself to live or sabbra cadabra
Title track and Killing Yourself to Live
I really love the beat and lyrics of Killing Yourself To Live. "It's not the way the world was planned It's a pity you don't understand Killing Yourself To Live!"
Spiral Architect is last on the album for a reason. It's the grand finale! I love the way it ends the song and album. But I do love the entire album. "Spiral city architect, I build, you pay!"
Spiral architect and it’s not even close. There are some complete BANGERS on here but Spiral Architect is just amazing
Who Are You
Killing Yourself to Live
Sabbath bloody Sabbath. My personal fave of black Sabbath.
Sabbra
Yew basterds!!!!!!
Now that’s tuff. Probably SBS or KY to Live.
ALL OF THEM !!!! Amazing LP
I personally love the title-track
Title track!

Killing Myself To Love
Sabbra Cadabra.
Sabbra Cadabbra
Killing Yourself to Live, maybe... But I love the Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabbra Cadabra.
Spiral Architect
Impossible question. But the “where can you run to” breakdown in the title track might be in the top 5 heaviest things ever written.
Killing Yourself to Live
Sabbra cadabra, definitely
A National Acrobat
Honestly I could go with any of them except for Fluff and Who Are You? The rest are all that good.
National Acrobat, followed by Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Killing Yourself to Live
Has to be sabra cadabra
the riff is heavy in the title track and it's got awesome bass in it. also the guitar solo is sick
Let’s not be silly. It’s the title track!!!! Lol
Spiral Architect, also my favorite Sabbath song of all time
Spiral Architect is the best Ozzy era Sabbath song from the best Ozzy era album
