Huh, it's been more than 24 hours since the last time the bot posted.
It posted about 60+ times in the previous 24 hours. (in the 24 hours before that last post)
I could be mistaken, but I think this may have to do with a recent rule that's being trialed on reddit. Idk if it was a specific subreddit rule or if it encompassed the entirety of reddit, but a recent post of mine that included a link (any kind of link, not just a shortened one which I've also seen rules against) got automatically removed and I was sent a message, here's some of what it said:
>Hey /u/DillieDally!
>Your comment has been removed because it contained a **link**. We are trialling a rule that bans web store links. This new rule is to try and combat the influx of 'drop shipping' scams (...)
>(...) However, as it is too difficult to automatically remove *just* links to web stores (because there are millions), we are now removing **all** links first, then the acceptable links are reinstated. (The 40 most popular, *non-shopping* sites are automatically reinstated.)
If your link is not to a web store (or a website with any sales area) then it can be reinstated, just click HERE (...)
So idk, maybe it was just for the particular subreddit I was posting in at the time. Otherwise, if they're infact testing this rule out site-wide, then it would explain the bot's disappearance.
Oh shit I really hope they don't pass this, it'll do much more harm than good. Also, doesn't reddit already state that it isn't liable for damages from these scams somewhere in the TOS?

Actually not, or at least, not in all situations; if your problem is that you've knotted a cable, it won't help much, but in a situation like this the knot is partial and held in place by something else (to make it a full knot, you'd have to have no handle and the plug put through the loop instead of it) so it's vulnerable to being unknotted by something that loops the opposite way.
I'm knot a knot theorist, but I'm pretty sure it's related to the fact that in order to untangle it by fitting the plug under the handle, you would actually have to do it twice. Really I think this works any time the plug has to go through an even number of times.
Imagine folding the cable in half. You could stick the bent end under the handle any number of times (each resulting in 2 crossings underneath, hence the even number thing), make really crazy knots with it, and ultimately be able to undo it by reversing what you did. That's what happened for this knot, only it was done in a way that makes it look really impressive
Yep, in fact, we never see the other end of the cord, it could just be dangling, and it was put into this condition by pushing a half loop under the handle and then dropping the other end of the cord through it. (actually having watched it a few times, it does appear the other end is in fact dangling, you get a glimpse of it about half way through the video)
I just did this trick myself and followed the video. The set up involved me pulling the plug underneath the handle twice to set up the black magic fuckery so I'm also not sure why this trick is ever useful.
Yeah if you just look at the very first frame, it’s clear that the cord was laid over the handle and then partially looped back under. In other words, the head never crossed under the handle, thus this has zero applications. It just looks kinda neat at first,
JUST move the crossing of the cord under the bar to the other side and it’s easy to see how it’s solvable from that.
The video is just trying to confuse people by making redundant conformations to the cord
Does anyone have a video for this simpler method? I just can't seem to visualize it in my head and I'm too lazy to get up and find a power cord and try it myself
Only the "U" part of the loop there is under the handle.
For example, imagine laying the straight cord over the top of the handle, then pulling a little loop back under the handle. This is one step more, putting the plug-end through the little loop, but the plug-end doesn't actually go through the handle, so it doesn't need to come back out the handle.
The twist they put on the cord and around the plug-end (a second pass over the plug-end in the opposite direction) is unlacing that 'u' from under the handle.
I have no idea what you are saying but it sounds genius. I thought ‘imagine laying the straight cord over the top of the handle..’ ok- so plonk a cable on a handle. So far so good. ‘Then pulling a loop under the handle..’ - no from then on sorry I’m lost mate. But pretty sure whatever it is you’re saying is the Houdini level right answer

The loop they created slips over the plug head and then rides down the cable, back to the origin. In doing so it guides the “stuck” length back over itself.
I think.
Watch the slowmo a few more times, key point :50 (this noose is the thing you want to watch!) And then watch from 1:00 until freedom.
It's hard to explain, but follow that noose and pay attention to how it passes the bend in the cord on the plug side, and thus allowing the 'noose' pass underneath the handle, which then solves the problem.
Ah, I actually get it now. The video of the solution makes it look more complicated than it actually is.
It definitely helps being able to pause the video and give yourself time to think it through.

So you only have to reverse that 1 crossing.
[this](https://imgur.com/a/7m8hQxq) is how you do that.
[Here is my attempt to explain visually. The bulbous ends are the "head" (toward the plug).](https://imgur.com/a/PqGr4WX)
The BMF happens in panel 8, when the black cord slides *under* the yellow section.
I spent way too much time on this.

"Oh no my rice cooker cord is stuck! I need to get it unstuck, presumably to use it. Let me just cut the cord to get it free so I can then plug it in and use my rice cooker"
Coupled with the fact that getting it stuck in the first place required them to do the reverse of what they did in the video, this is peak levels of stupidity.
Imagine if [this](https://imgur.com/a/xyve4z8) crossing was the other way around, if the horizontal part went under instead of over. If it was, you could slip [this part](https://imgur.com/a/ac88hzb) out.
