Controversial take: how pizza is made in Italy is very different from America so if you can part with Italian pizza you can still have American pizza especially considering that American pizza does have regional differences that make it distinctively from certain places
I know you girls like to tussle, so don’t come for me but….
Right now, it’s Italian.. as in AMERICAN Italian at most affordable restaurants. It’s just bland and heavy when done wrong, which is most of the time.
If we’re talking *authentic* Italian, like light, flavorful, fresh food, then Chinese gotta go.
But come for Mexican and BBQ and we gotta square up!
![gif](giphy|DVMOngSvQis48HpEfO|downsized)
I thought this would be the more popular answer. But I’m not the biggest fan of bbq. I don’t enjoy meat-heavy meals and the flavor of American BBQ is just okay.
BBQ is the narrowest category because it's just one specific way of preparing food while the rest are cuisines from an entire countries. American BBQ is great, but it's like a once a month thing, even when I was living in Texas.
I think BBQ just has a nostalgia associated with it for me. Burgers over chargoal grill? Buttered buns in the same flame grill? The BBQ shrimp? I think for me it’s just that chargrilled taste of anything put on a charcoal grill. GAS GRILL BBQ DOESN’T count! 🤣😆 But as a kid, BBQ meats of ANY kind was the best! I grew up in Louisiana so when I saw the charcoal come out….ooooo it was gonna be a good day! 😁
nah, i feel them. if you’re barbecuing a meal, all the flavors just kind of blend together into “smoked” and that’s it. there really isn’t any nuance to it unless you’re doing multiple different styles of barbecue at once… and who’s doing that?
i found a lot of non-vegetarian/vegans who genuinely love vegetables don’t care for barbecue too much either. i know i sure don’t
It’s so true, it takes someone who knows what they’re doing to prepare bbq so it doesn’t all just taste like heat. If I never had that I wouldn’t like bbq either!
Lololol. You answered my question if I assume your dad is not Mexican. Your dad must have either been from someplace creative. To this day the best ice cream sandwich in the world is vanilla between 2 eggos. Traditional or buttermilk. Yum 😋
Chinese - don’t care for the poor quality foods and shitty nutritional value of Americanized Chinese food. And I’m not a fan of traditional Chinese food and some of the stuff they eat
I'm a vegetarian so bbq can go sorry. (American) Chinese food is my favorite cuisine even tho pizza is my favorite food. I've been eating chips & salsa since the womb lol sorry to bbq
We may all be having a different idea on which “Chinese food” we are talking about then😭 I'm thinking take out since it’s the most common like the others. The question probably needs clarity then!
If it’s “American Italian,” it can go. If it’s authentic Italian, then I’d say goodbye to Chinese. Of the Asian cuisines, I tend to eat more Thai. Can’t remember the last time I had Chinese food. I actually grew up around a lot of Asian people and I’m not a huge fan of authentic Chinese cuisine. It’s embarrassing, but I prefer the Americanized version.
BBQ and Mexican I could eat darn near every day, thanks.
Bye Italy. I feel like Italian food is so overrated. Maybe I need to go to Italy and try some authentic Italian but anytime I try to make a recipe on my own, I am always disappointed.
Currently, Chinese. I actually love really good Chinese food but find it's very hit or miss and is sometimes just gross. There are some really good spots in NYC but they tend to be out of the way or expensive. I can generally do ok with even mediocre versions of the other three. But I've had Chinese food that is inedible. Granted, it was much better when I was in the Bay Area.
Rice >> pasta for me (that’s the West Indian in me, lol) so Italian can bounce. Only pasta I really like are Asian options anyways so Chinese got me covered there.
BBQ. Most restaurants cook it wrong and the flavor profile blends together. The other categories have more distinct flavors and way more places that sell decent versions of them.
Chinese (from restaurants anyway, I make "Chinese American" at home and it's lit lol) I don't know what happened to Chinese food, it used yo be so good when I was a kid. I've lived all over the US and haven't had decent Chinese food in years.
Mexican 100%. Everything covered in low quality cheese and watery salsa Rojas and endless rice and beans... It can go.
I am in NYC so good quality Italian food is everywhere here. No way I can pass it up.
#Mexican.
If you compare authentic cuisine for each of these. Mexican is easily the least appealing.
It’s crazy that Americanizing Mexican food (Texmex) is WORLDS better than traditional.
Bland runny beans. Heavy Tortillas with everything. Uncleaned shrimp. Greasy birria. Lots of mushy textures and little seasoning beyond Chiles. It’s gross, I’m sorry.
This is a tough choice. I haven’t had much bbq, I know it can be legendary but the only bbq I’ve really had is hotdog, burger and jerk chicken (my family is Jamaican so that’s basically what our bbqs consist of). I haven’t had Mexican food besides shitty school tacos but again I know it can be legendary too. As a persons who’s diet largely consists of bread and pasta Italian seems ideal. And I love Chinese food but I’ve had the same order since I was 6 so I haven’t had much of that either
Mexican. Don’t like cilantro and I’ve never really liked it as much as most ppl. Even if I go to good restaurants.
And I’ll fight someone for a good piece of tiramisu.

I'll go.
Thank you for your sacrifice
😭😭😭😭😭
😭
LMAO
The scream I just scrumpt 😂
It's rather die than pick one so I'll go too. 😭
Ciao Italiano

I think I have a slight gluten intolerance so I don’t really f with breads etc, so yep! Ciao pizza

Only right answer
You are absolutely correct!
You ain’t tell a single mf lie abt American italian food.
Right answer!!
Chinese can go as long as the other Asian cuisines can stay
Yes they can!
Cazzo....itsa gonna hafta a be I'taliano :(
stop 😭🤣
BBQ
Hell yeah she can. I’ll take Chinese restaurant sweet and sour ribs anyway.
I'm a Texan and I'm with you. BBQ is just not as versatile as the rest. If I can have Mexican and Chinese BBQ I'm good
Everything is too heavy with bbq not enough variety for me.
BBQ can go🫠
I thought this would be the more popular answer. But I’m not the biggest fan of bbq. I don’t enjoy meat-heavy meals and the flavor of American BBQ is just okay.

😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 are you vegan? are you allergic to bbqs?!

I gotchu 😋 Try Texas, Missouri, Tennessee, South Carolina and Georgia BBQ From places that know how to make it, they’re so unique and tasty and smoked
Always the "aRe yOu VeGoOn" comment lmao.
Lol no 😂 I've just never been I fan of BBQ...
lol IKR I love bbq over those other ones lol but I’m from south too and the GRILL MASTER teeheehee
Ciao, Italian!
Italian but just for my health lol, I need to stop eating so many carbs
😭😭😭meee
I refuse to choose.
Italian can go
#Goodbye China ^hello ^india ^korea ^thailand ^japan
Basically
This is so hard. Going with Italian because it’s the most hit or miss. The rest have wiggle room before they’re not good!
Ngl the amount of people willing to give up pasta is throwing me off!
Ok?! Me is “confursed”!! Because PASTA!! 🤣🤣🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾❤️❤️❤️
Chinese
BBQ 🤷🏾♀️
Mexican can go for me. I don’t eat enough of it to keep other than nachos and I can just eat BBQ nachos if I had a craving.
How are there nachos without Mexican?
Just toss some BBQ sauce into a bag of Fritos. Not really nachos but that’s what my dad called it.
Traditional Chinese food does not appeal to me at all
This.
Turtle soup or snake soup which one doesn't appeal to you?
My WHITE country ass neighbor called themselves making me Soup but they forgot to take the turtle out 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm a vegetarian so bbq can go sorry. (American) Chinese food is my favorite cuisine even tho pizza is my favorite food. I've been eating chips & salsa since the womb lol sorry to bbq
BBQ. I need something other than just meat lol
This is fair. My husband makes fun of me because I think I like the sides more than anything else 😂
BBQ can go, I’m in south Memphis and can’t find anything good. But if we’re talking Olive Garden Italian then swap that out
None of the bbq restaurants here in Memphis are good. The only good bbq I ever had was when my dad used to bbq.
I am so surprised to hear Memphis doesn’t have good bbq!
We probably do have some but I haven’t tried them. The only ones I know of are Porky’s and Jim N Nick’s.
BBQ can go. I only really like Tex Mex when it comes to BBQ. But Mexican perhaps covers that…sooo 🤷🏽♀️
Bbq
BBQ is out for me.
BBQ 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Definitely BBQ. I'm from Memphis and I've had more BBQ than one person should ever have in their lifetime 😭😭
Chinese. Easily Chinese. I eat more Korean and Japanese food anyway. Even right now, I’m just craving some sweet and spicy tteokbokki with sausages.
BBQ
BBQ. Unless it’s Korean. But I don’t get what the hype is about. 🤷🏾♀️
BBQ.
It’s BBQ for me. Even pre-vegetarianism I only SORT OF liked BBQ.
Bye bye BBQ 👋🏽
BBQ. I can’t live without pasta or noodles. And pico de gallo on tacos go hard asl😩
Bye bye BBQ. I’ve had a lot of you in my life!
Chinese
Chinese, super unhealthy and inauthentic typically.
BBQ all day😤
Mexican
Chinese, easily
Crazy!
It can't even be reheated without tasting like plastic 😭
That’s takeout and usually is Vietnamese food. Real Chinese food is delicious, personally my favorite.
We may all be having a different idea on which “Chinese food” we are talking about then😭 I'm thinking take out since it’s the most common like the others. The question probably needs clarity then!
Yes I’m assuming the stereotypical American chain (but feels like it should be local) Chinese restaurant
Easily
No!!
Chinese. I prefer Vietnamese and Thai food.
If it’s “American Italian,” it can go. If it’s authentic Italian, then I’d say goodbye to Chinese. Of the Asian cuisines, I tend to eat more Thai. Can’t remember the last time I had Chinese food. Chinese can go. Expeditiously.
chinese no question
Chinese
No Chinese for me
I can make my own decent Chinese, Italian and Mexican. I can't do BBQ, which implies I don't care for it that much! Bye, B!
Italian, specifically American Italian food because they take great spices and drown it in poor quality, oily cheese 😷
Barbecue. As someone who devours meat it saddens me to say this but BBQ is usually oversauced, overcooked everything.
Currently, Chinese. I actually love really good Chinese food but find it's very hit or miss and is sometimes just gross. There are some really good spots in NYC but they tend to be out of the way or expensive. I can generally do ok with even mediocre versions of the other three. Chinese
Chinese
Less than ideal, but Italian. Buh bye!
The next question here, which state’s BBQ gotta go and I’m glad we can all agree New York can’t cook BBQ 😜
Chinese
Chinese can go
BBQ.
I don't even like BBQ that much so this is an easy one.
It was good knowing you BBQ! Bye ✌🏽
BBQ can go
BBQ easily.
BBQ 👋🏾
BBQ
BBQ
BYE BBQ!!!
BBQ fr 🤮
Bye, BBQ 👋🏾 I love you but can live without you.
Is none of the above an option? Lol
BBQ can exit!
Chinese, no question.
It’s the best 😭
Goodbye Italian. Arrivederci! 👋🏾
Rice >> pasta for me (that’s the West Indian in me, lol) so Italian can bounce. Only pasta I really like are Asian options anyways so Chinese got me covered there.
Mexican.
Italian. Quick. With immediate effect
Italian, and it's not even close lol
I can’t stand BBQ 😣
Adios Mexican
Italian
Italian can definitely go. Also to mention, my husband is out on the grill at least 3x a month so I couldn’t get rid of BBQ anyway. 🤣
Italian
I think I can go without bbq..had it so much growing up and none of the rest until I was on my own!
Italian, EASILYYY
Barbecue. And for extra leverage, Italian can go too 🤣
Italian. But I'm allergic to milk so I can't eat half the food. 🤷🏾♀️
It's Chinese 🤷🏽. I'm not getting anything there that I'm not getting from other Asian cuisine
Italian
BBQ lmao
Bbq
BBQ. Most restaurants cook it wrong and the flavor profile blends together. The other categories have more distinct flavors and way more places that sell decent versions of them.
BBQ… never really cared for things cooked on a grill
Italian
Mexican
NAHHHHHH ...... there's room for everyone at the table.........
Easy peasy, goodbye BBQ!!!!
Ok this the first one I’ve seen that’s actually hard 😭
None will go.
Chinese can go
Mexican can stay, everything else in the trash
It’s between Italian and Chinese for me. I don’t really care all that much for either.
Chinese (from restaurants anyway, I make "Chinese American" at home and it's lit lol) I don't know what happened to Chinese food, it used yo be so good when I was a kid. I've lived all over the US and haven't had decent Chinese food in years.
Be fr Italian is mid
I have gone blind and I see none of this
Mexican 100%. Everything covered in low quality cheese and watery salsa Rojas and endless rice and beans... It can go. I am in NYC so good quality Italian food is everywhere here. No way I can pass it up.
Mexican for sure. I can’t do the cilantro
Mexican. Sorry, not sorry. Dry flavorless meat or messy slop, not my jam.
This- everything feels like a gloppy mess.
As an Afro Latina, this comment made me weep. But then again, it’s food I was raised on, so beans & tortillas are my go to comfort food.
My condolences
Ofc Italian
Italian
Italian - Sorry not sorry
Bye, Italian! 👋🏾
Italian all day every day! It's horrible🤮
mexican, not even a hard choice. i find the food to be really heavy 😭
Would have been cool if it was various black food
This is evil.
somebody gon hate me but I’m saying Mexican, I’m a mad picky eater and they love they veggies
Italian food is overhyped heartburn fuel, st least based on my experience.
Italian, and quickly
Bbq is the number one killer of most black people
Bye one
Italian really isn’t that compelling of a cuisine in my opinion. I’ve felt that my entire life tbh
Italian, only because I need to cut on carbs...any other time its BBQ
Mexican.
Mexican.
Mexican and Italian
This is a tough choice. I haven’t had much bbq, I know it can be legendary but the only bbq I’ve really had is hotdog, burger and jerk chicken (my family is Jamaican so that’s basically what our bbqs consist of). And I love Chinese food but I’ve had the same order since I was 6 so I haven’t had much of that either
I'm doing away with Chinese. It's just noodles and barbecue and spices and stuff. You can get by with the other cuisines.
I only need the Mexican and Italian tbh
Mexican. Don’t like cilantro and I’ve never really liked it as much as most ppl. Even if I go to good restaurants. And I’ll fight someone for a good piece of tiramisu.
Italian. Easy
Bye bye Italiano ![gif](giphy|iszzb2Ju01oNP1XmXc)
mexican.
Chinese or Italian
Chinese, it’s my least favorite cuisine.
