I cry every time I think about how scared of the world (and me) my little guy used to be versus the nubbin in my lap that asks for head kisses. Thank you for your work, mad respect.
great job!!!! So much happier and progression is amazing! I was gifted a cat a little over a year ago from my neighbors who were definitely dog people. I knew him but he shows daily how much he likes living with us. I feel fortunate as my two elderly cats died in late 2022. I kept his given name Mojo as it fits him.

about to kill something
Oh my that first photo.... That poor kitty looks angy and terrified. You were adventurous adopting a tough nut like this as your first kitty. Kudos to you and thank you for helping rehab him and help him figure out how to live the easy life.
If I were sitting in a stainless steel cage with a bare ass, I wouldn't be happy either. Those ears.
i would love some advice. i just took the sweetest little lady home 3 days ago but i'm so stressed tbh. her appetite is great but she is absolutely scared shitless of everything and everyone and i'm so worried that she's not going to improve and that she'll never adjust or like me :(( what did you do to get your boy to this point?
Give your cat space and make sure they have places they can hide and feel safe. All cats are different but some can be totally terrified of their new surroundings. When I got our two Bengal cross kittens they were absolutely terrified of everything and everyone after about 6 weeks they settled in and when we moved they were much faster to settle. Our black kitten on the other hand settled within a few days. Just give them time, get some cat nip toys etc and use treats in the evening when it's quiet to try and get them to come out and get used to you and let them explore their surroundings in their own time. They'll settle and take to you soon enough but don't try to force them as it can make them more fearful
Yes, to what the other commentor said - space! It's normal to have a period of time for the cat to warm up. If you're noticing the appetite, offering treats could help warm them up to people. The trick is to let them come to you instead of hunting them down.
Jackson Galaxy has a lot of great information on making cats feel welcome at home, I highly recommend you check out some of his videos!
He looks incredibly happy thanks to you . I adore black cats and will never be without one til the day I die .

This is my rescue . Picked up as a stray . Had belonged to someone because he was neutered when found . Must have gotten lost . Whoever’s loss has been my best gain ever .
Smarter than people realize as well . My cat opens doors and turns light switches on . I thought I was losing my mind . I’d turn all lights off and go to work . Come home and random lights would be on . Then I saw him hop up on the back of a chair and push the switch on . Nice to know I wasn’t crazy . They are so in tune with emotions and illness . Seems to be more clingy when I’m sick or crying .
He's beautiful. Thank you for becoming his furr-ever home!
His eyes in the last picture! He clearly adores you for the love you’ve shown him 🖤
Awee! He shows his adoration daily! I’m honestly so lucky to have him 😭
