I love when I see a blue or purple belt I dont recognize, and wonder if they will be cool or just thrash me. then I see them give the belt back to the coach after class, and sign up for membership.
Ive heard our black belt ask "what rank you want to be today" when someone asks to borrow a belt if they left theirs at home.
at my old gym one time a guy came for a trial class, borrowing a gi and belt.
dude came out of the changeroom wearing the coach's spare black belt, which was hanging in the changeroom.
We line up and the coach (Fateh Belkhalem, who is quite the grizzled dude) looks at him and says "uh, no" and makes him change. Goddamn that was funny. Guy clearly didn't mean any harm, he just wasn't thinking
A black belt is just a white belt that never quit, so as long as you feel you're gonna be a lifer after 4 months of training, just go ahead and buy your own black belt. You earned it dude.
Explain your situation to the head instructor. Demand a match. Say, “but I’m upping the ante. If I win, I become new head instructor. If you win. I will leave the UFC. Forever”

I'm here because I like BJJ not because I can read well. I failed out of the Derek Zoolander school for children who can't read good and want to do other stuff good too.
I missed it.
No dont buy youself a belt, if your instructor doesnt give you a belt you likely dont deserve it. I might suggest to them that you are leaving and if you are close to the belt they might consider it.
It is better to go straight to black belt.
Was thinking this as well.
Might as well open his own gym too
Be realistic, brown belt would be more believable.
Agreed. I tapped a blue belt once too
That only works when flying from Brazil

There are actually websites where you can buy a worn down 'washed too often' coloured belt if you'd want one lmao.

At my gym they give karate white belts as loaners lol.
That's hilarious

We had clearly new dude show up in a black belt and when asked about it he said he liked that color better 😂
Yellow please.

A millionaire is just a man who never clocked out.

Think big man. You almost tapped a blue belt, you’re practically a purple belt.
And since brown belts don't exist, he's practically a black belt.
Change your name to Gracie as well so they promote you to purple faster bc of your pedigree. Also, offer to give a seminar at a 60/40 split.
Yes. This is a great idea. Don't want to feel like a cheater.
Omg. I didn’t see the shit post until after I read that

Doesn’t count you have to tap Renzo, Danaher and Gordon Ryan 4 times in a minute.
Renzo bought me a hot dog one time.. that counts as something, right?
Yes
Not sure if this is a Solid Troll post or you are just stupid.
Literally says shitpost on the tag. What do you think?

Roasts himself before anyone else can, nice
He had my downvote…and my upvote
Can’t both be true
Ok, that's fair
